Beekmantown's Carter Lapier (16) broke up the play on Malone's Parker Russell scoring attempt. The Beekmantown Eagles will be back in action at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena this Friday evening as they leave the section. The host was the Malone Huskies from Section X. The game would start well for the home Eagles as they would get the game's opening goals, which made it a 1-0 game at the 7:14 mark of the first period. The Huskies would keep fighting and get the tying goal at the 11:40 mark of the period on the goal from Parker Russell. Although with just under two minutes left in the period, the Eagles could regain the lead at 2-1 when Parker Pryce would light a lamp, and that's how they would head into the first intermission. When the teams would return for the second period, the Huskies would waste little time tying the game up again, this time from Tristan Russell at the 3:16 mark. The game would stay there till the 14:00 mark of the period. Novak Jarus would get his second goal 3-2 lead at the end of the second period. When we returned for the third, the Huskies would fight and tie the game up again for the third time in the evening, with Jake Kaska's goal at the 3:41 mark of the third period. The Eagle would ming and retake the lead, this time at 4-3, on the Mason Carter goal. And t, and in the closing seconds of the game, Novak Jarus added his third goal on the empty netter to secure the 5-3 win. With the win, the Eagles would go to 8-4-1 on the season. They are back in action tomorrow against Bellows Falls. As for the Malone Huskies, they fall to 8-5 on the season and will be back in action on January 29th with a home contest against the Norwood-Norfolk Iceman. Gallery

Peru's Trenten Taylor (15) and Plattsburgh's Bryan Kemokai (2) rise and battle for the game's opening tip. It would be Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action from Plattsburgh as the home Hornets would meet up with the rival crosstown Peru Nighthawks on a Friday Night. The game would start well for the Hornets as they would start by doubling up the Nighthawks at 16-8 after the first quarter. The teams would be a little more equal in the second quarter, but the Hornets would win the quarter slightly at 9-7 and take the 25-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Hornets would be hot, double up the Nighthawks again, this time at 20-10, and take the 45-25 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, with the outcome of the game no longer in doubt, the teams would empty the benches, and the Nighthawks would win the fourth quarter at 10-6, but it would not be enough on this day as the Hornets would get the 51-35 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets will go to 8-4 on the season as they head on the road tomorrow with a nonleague game against the Ogdensburg Blue Devils. As for the Nighthawks, they dropped another one and are now 1-11 on the season, and they will return to action Monday as they go on the road to take on Schroon Lake/Newcomb. Gallery

It would be the return of the battle of the North Country as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host their travel partners, the Potsdam State Bears, from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1,000 fans on poster night with the rare midweek game. The upset-minded Bears would get the game's opening goal on the powerplay from Eli Douhart-Wood at the 10:45 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would keep coming and equalize the game at one with the Kevin Weaver Vitale goal at the 17:16 mark of the period. Then, with just 25 seconds left in the period, the Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead on the goal from Jake Sacratini, and that's how they would head to the intermission. The game would stay until the 12:09 mark of the second period when Brody Spencer Ha would extend the lead to 3-1. The Bears would not be going away on this night as they would make it a one-goal game at the 17:21 mark on the Michael Campbell goal, and we would head to the second intermission with the Cardinals having the 3-2 lead. The Cardinal offense would be on fire in the third period, scoring four goals in just 8 minutes. Aaron Catron would score twice, and Patrick Cole and Jake Sacratini would score to make it a 7-2 game. It would be a very physically hard-hitting game from the start as both teams were trying to show they were the dominant team on this day. Both teams would have their chances, but there would be no scoring in the first period. The Eagles would break and get the game's opening goal on the shorthand at the 11:36 mark of the period when Mason Carter would light the lamp and make it a 1-0 game in what would be the period's lone goal. The Spartans would keep coming and get the tying goal just 4:23 into the third period on the Jackson Coryer goal. The Eagles would return and get the lead again when Novak Jarus beat Shawn McLane at 11:29 to regain the lead at 2-1. Then, in the game's final minute, Edward Sweenor would add the empty netter to put the icing on the cake in the 3-1 victory. The game would not start well for the home Cardinals as they would give up three first-period goals in six minutes from 6:53 to 12:59 when Connor Berg, David Vieten, and Mel Mortaerlli would score for the Ephs. The Cardinals would answer back with 2 two goals from Patrick Cole in 56 seconds, with one on the powerplay to make it a 3-2 game. Unfortunately, the Cardinal comeback would be cut short when the Ephs scored with 1:36 left in the period, thanks to Bobby Vorkey to make it a 4-2 game, and that's how the first period would end/ In the second period; the Cardinals would have the lone goal of the period from Vlad Pshenichnikov when he would score at the 11:39 mark of the period to make it a 4-3 game after two periods. In the third period, the Ephs would regain their two-goal lead at 7:01 when William Yee scored. The Cardinals could cut the lead back to one when Patrick Cole would score at the 12:36 mark of the period to make it a 5-4 game.
