It would be championship time from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the top 2 teams in the section would face off for the right to go to the New Yorj State Division II Tournament and it would be the classic rivalry as it would be between the #2 Saranac Spartans and the #1 Beekmanton Eagles. The Eaglwa would come out looking to defend their title as they would get the game's opening goal at the 2:40 mark of the first period from Edward Sweenor for the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would be able to answer back at the 7:54 mark of the period when Ashtyn Catilin would find the back of the net for his 100th career point, and that's where the scoring would end. The second period would start like the first as the Eagles would strike early at 1:04 to take the 2-1 lead from Novak Jarus. The Spartans would return and tie the game just 54 seconds later when Ryan Campbell would light the lamp. The Eagles would come back and take the lead for the third in the game at the 6:04 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would get his second goal. Shortly after that, the S[artans would return and tie the game again, this time on the shorthanded penalty shot from Nolan Miner. Then, with just under two minutes left in the second period, the Spartans would get their first lead of the game at 4-3 when Ryan Campbel would wrist it by for his second goal, and that's where the second period would end. In the third period, the Spartans would expand their lead to 5-3 when Ryan Campbell would complete the hat trick at 9:15, when the puck would squeak through the five hole for the goal. It would be the semi-finals of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey as it would be a rematch of last year's Championship as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #4 Saranac Lake Lake Placid Lakers for the right to head to the Championship Monday night. The Lakers would get the game's opening goal and the first line of the first period when Ayden McCormick scored at 4:57 to take the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 4:57 mark of the second period when Edward Sweenor scored to tie the game at 1. Then, just about two minutes later, the Eagles would take the 2-1 lead on Edward Sweenor's second goal of the game. The Eagles would keep coming and extend their lead to 3-1 on Edward Sweenor's third straight goal at the 10:18 mark of the period. The Eagles and Sweenor would stay host and extend their lead to 4-1 at the 12:39 mark of the period. Although, with just 1:22 left in the period, the Lakers would add one from Carson St. Louis to make it a 4-2 game at the end of the second period. The game would stay there until the end of the third period when Mason Carter would add the empty-netter to secure the 5-2 victory. The Saranac Spartans celebrate their 3-0 win over the Plattsburgh Hornets in the Section VII Semi-Finals and advance to the finals next week. It would be section VII playoff time in boy's hockey and in the dsemi-finals we would see both teams that call the Ameri-Can Sports Center home as the #3 Plattsburgh Hornets would take on the #2 Saranac Spartans with a right to go to the Section VII Championship on Monday night at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would go back and forth through the first period with the Spartans having the 15-3 edge on shots, but there would be no scoring. The ice would finally be broken at the 6:46 mark of the second period when Ryan Campbell would get the Spartans on the board at the 6:46 mark for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there until the 10:55 mark of the period when the Spartans would double their lead to 2-0 on the Landon Giroux goal, and that's how the scoring would end for the period. In the third period, the Spartans would take control of the game on the Nolan Miner goal at 7:35. From there,, the Spartans would clamp down the defense and hold on for the win as they go to 13-7-1 on the season and advance to the Section VII Championship against the Beekmantown Eagles and Saranac Lake Placid game winner. It would be the last day of the regular season, and the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference title would be on the line, and the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Spartans would face off at the Amer Can North Sports Center. The home Saranac Spartans would get the opening goal of the game and the lone goal of the first period when Evan Patrie found the back of the net and hit the back of the Eagles netminder for the goal and a 1-0 lead. In the second period, the Spartans would keep it coming, and in the 7th minute of the period, Adrian Barnes would find the back of the net and make it a 2-0 game. The Spartans would keep coming, and at the 15:13 mark of the second period, Landon Giroux would score on the shorthand when he beat Jack Bell on the short side for the 3-0 lead. Although the Eagles would do their version of the basketball buzzer beater as they would get on the board on the Edward Sweenor goal as the second period came to a close, and the Spartans would take the 3-1 lead into the third. In the third period, the Eagles would get the game within one on Edward Sweenor's second goal at 4:24. From there, the Spartans would ret and regain the two-goal lead, and the Eagles looked for the tying goal, but neither would happen. However, the Beekmantown Eagles would be crowned the 2024-25 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champions through the tiebreaker on goal differential by 1. The Spartans would stay hot as the teams returned for the second period and extend their lead to 2-0 at 7:42 when Evan Patrie would finish the two-on-one attack. The Spartans would keep coming and make it a 3-0 game when Ryan Campbell scored on the power play at 11:22. On this night, we would celebrate the eight careers of the graduating 2025 senior class before the game. Once the game got underway, the Spartans would be in control as they would get the game's opening goal at the 3:00 mark from Gabe Moore for the 1-0 lead. In the eighth minute of the game, the Spartans would make it 2-0 as Landon Giroux would find the back of the net for the Spartans. The Spartans would add another goal late to take the 3-0 lead after the first period. The Eagles would finally get the game's first goal to break the ice at the 1:24 mark of the period on the Pierce Dominy goal. The Eagles would waste little time making it a 2-0 game on Novak Jarus's goal just 34 seconds later. Then, with just over two minutes left in the period, the Eagles would extend the lead to 3-0 on Novak Jarus's power-play goal and his second of the game to end the second period. When the teams returned for the third period, the Lakers wasted little time getting back into the game as they scored twice in the first six minutes from Ayden McCormick and Braden Harvey to make it a 3-2 game. The Eagles would return in the 7th minute and take the two-goal lead back on the Pryce Parker goal at 4-2. The Blue Streaks would get the game's opening goal, but it would take a bit as Gavin Partlow would score at the 10:33 mark of the first period to make it a 1-0 game. Then, just 26 seconds later, the Blue Streaks would make it 2-0 when Daniel Klochaney would score to give the Blue Streaks the 2-0 lead, and that's where the first period would end. The Spartans would come out in the second period and answer right off as Nolan Miner would score three minutes to make it a 2-1 game early in the second period. The game would stay there till the 12:15 mark of the period when the Blue Streaks would regain their two-goal lead at 3-1 when Ryan Barlow would score. The Saranac Spartans would open the goal scoring as Ryan Campbell would get the goal three minutes in and take the 1-0 lead. Queensbury would return and get the game-tying goal just 2 minutes later, thanks to Ethan Kelsey, and tie the game at one. Then, just 93 seconds later, Ethan Kelsey would score again and give the home Spartans the 2-1 lead, and that's where the first period would end. When the teams returned for the second period, the Saranac Spartans would waste little time getting the equalizer as Ryan Campbell would get his second goal, and the game would be tied at two. The game would stay there til the 7:23 mark of the period when the Queensbury Spartans would answer again with two goals in 90 seconds and take the 4-2 lead on goals from Sean Culligan and Rhys Roberts, and that's how the second period would end. When the teams returned for the third period, the Queensbury Spartans would extend their lead to 5-2 just 1:01 into the period. The Saranac Spartans would try to make it interesting down the stretch as Ryan Campell would score at the 11:42 mark of the period to complete his hat trick on the night and make it a 5-3 game.
