Moriah Vikings @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 14th 2025

It would be a battle inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the #14 Moriah Vikings would travel up to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets in a late-season tilt. The game would start well for the Vikings as their defense would be up to the task, and they would jump out to a 14-5 lead after the first quarter. It would be more of the same in the second quarter as they would hold the Hornets to nine points while getting another 15 for themselves to take the 29-14 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Hornets would regroup themselves, come out on fire, and take the third 12-7 to tighten up the game at 36-26 as they entered the fourth quarter. It would be the tightest of them all in the fourth quarter as the Hornets would get the quarter 12-10, although the Vikings would hold on for the 46-38 victory. In the winning effort for the Vikings, they would go to 15-4 on the season as they head into their final regular season game next Tuesday against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, they fall to 6-14 as they finish their season, head to the Section VII Class A Playoffs, and take on the Beekmantown Eagles in the semi-finals. Gallery
Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 14th 2025
Beekmantown's Julia Conroy (14) with the block on the chippy underneath as the Eagles get the 55-38 victory. We would have Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Basketball action from the Plattsburgh High School as the Hornets would host their neighbors in their annual rivalry game against the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would come out flying in the first, doubling up the Hornets with a 13-7 quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagle's defense would be top-notch for the eight minutes as they would hold the Hornets off the scoreboard with a 13-0 quarter and take a convincing lead of 26-7 lead at the end of the first half. When the teams return for the third, it would be a bit more of a competitive quarter, but the Eagles would still be on top with a 14-9 quarter and take the 40-16 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would empty the bench and score high on both ends, but the Hornets would only win the quarter by one at 16-15 as the Eagles would get the 55-38 victory. In the winning effort for the Eagles, they would go to 6-4 on the season as they head into their next game on Thursday against Ausable Valley. #16 Bolton Eagles @ Seton Catholic Knights January 13th 2025
Bolton's Maille Kelley (11) drives from the elbow to the hoop on Seton Catholic's Cristina Conti (20) as the Eagles would get the 44-20 victory. The Seton Catholic Knights would host the Bolton Eagles in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference from Seton Catholic in Girl's Basketball action. The game would get off to a good start for the Eagles, racing out to a 13-4 lead after the first quarter. It will be more of the same in the second quarter as they stay hot with a 13-2 quarter and take the 26-6 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be a closer match as the Knights would find some offense, and the Eagles would win the quarter 8-6 and take the 34-12 lead into the 4th quarter. It would be another t, right quarter in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles would still be better with a 10-8 quarter as they secure the 44-20 victory. In the winning effort, the Bolton Eagles go to 9-1 on the season as they head into their game on Wednesday against Keene. As for the Seton Catholic Knights, they will fall to 5-4 on the season as they will be back in action Wednesday against Wilsboro Gallery
#14 Saranac Spartans @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 10th 2025
Satanac's Layla Pellerin (1) breaks out in front of the pack off the steal and lays it off the window for the score. It would be Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Basketball action from Plattsburgh High as the Hornets would host #14 Saranac Spartans. It would take some time to get the first score of the game. We would be halfway through the first quarter before our first basket, but when the scoring came, the Spartans would string a few together and have the 11-3 lead after the first quarter. When the second quarter came around, the Hornets would find their shot, but they would not be able to chip into the deficit. The Hornets would win the quarter 12-11, but the Spartans would have the 22-15 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Spartans would stay hot with an 11-8 quarter and take a 33-20 lead into the fourth quarter. With the Spartans having the game pretty much in hand, it would be a slower pace in the fourth quarter played, and the teams would tie for the quarter at eight as the Spartans would get the 41-28 victory. With the win for the Spartans, they go to 9-2 in the season as they return home next week. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets would fall to 3-6 on the season as they head into their game against the Beekmantown Eagles on Tuesday. Gallery
