It would be a battle of former national champions from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Middlebury Panthers would travel across the lake to take on the #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they both look for an important win as they look to the NCAA Tournament, with 400 fans in attendance. The game would remain scoreless through the first period as the Panthers would get the opening goal of the game at the 3:52 mark of the second period when Avery McInerny would find the back of the net and make it a 1-0 game. The game would stay there until the 12:14 mark of the period, when the Cardinals would make it 1-1 on Bailey MacKellar's goal as they crashed the net and stuffed it home.
