It would be the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey Championship from the famed Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, and it would feature the #2 Clarkson Golden Knights going against the #6 Cornell Big Red, who are looking for back-to-back Whitelaw Cups in front of 6000 fans. The Big Red would get the game's first goal at just 5:11 when Ondrej Psenicka beat the netminder for the 1-0 lead as the Big Red looked to respond. Then it would be just 1:52 later when the Big Red would extend their lead to 2-0 when Nick Desantis would score his eighth of the season, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there till the 13:23 mark of the second period when the Golden Knights would make it a one-goal game at 2-1 on Erik Bargholtz's sixth goal of the season, and that's where the period would end. In the third period, the game would go back and forth with both teams having their chances to get one, including the tying goal by the Knights. Although the only goal of the period would be the empty netter by Ryan Walsh to seal the deal with 1:49 left in the game to give the Cornell Big Red their second straight title at 3-1 and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. It would be the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey Championship from the famed Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, and it would feature the #2 Clarkson Golden Knights going against the #6 Cornell Big Red, who are looking for back-to-back Whitelaw Cups in front of 6000 fans. It would be the second semi-final game of the day from the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, as it would be a part of the championship weekend in front of 5300 fans. It would be tight through the first period as both teams would have chances, but no one could light the lamp, and there would be no score after the first period. The Golden Knights would get the game's opening goal at the 1:04 mark of the second period when Ryan Bottrill would score for his eighth goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights would be able to double up their lead at 2-0 when Tristan Sarsland would score just over 4 minutes later for his eighth of the season, and that's where the second period would end at 2-0, Clarkson. When the teams returned for the third period, the Golden Knights would extend their lead to 3-0 just 4:54 into the period when Trey Taylor would score his 9th of the season. The Big Green would keep coming and get on the board with 4:28 left in the game when John Fusco scored his 11th of the season to make it interesting down the stretch. However, the Golden Knights would put the icing on the cake with 1:50 left in the game when Ayrton Martino would get his 25th of the season to secure the 4-1 win for the Golden Knights. In the winning effort for the Golden Knights, Ethan Langenegger would make 25 saves as they go to 24-11-3 on the season and advance to the ECAC Hockey Championship against the Cornell Big Red tomorrow. It would be the final game of the 2nd annual Adirondack Winter Invitational presented by Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, and it would feature a matchup of a pair of top 20 teams as the #16 Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks and the #20 Clarkson Golden Knights from the Lake Placid Olympic Center Herb Brooks Arena. It would take till the last minute of the period before we had our first game goal. Still, both teams would score within ten seconds of each other as Connor Eddy would get his third goal of the season for the Riverhawks, and Ryan Richardson would get his 5th of the year for the Golden Knights, and the period would end tied at one. The Golden Knights would take the lead in the game at the 8:32 mark of the second period on Ray Fust's first goal for the 2-1 lead. However, the Riverhawks would answer right back and tie the game at two 17 seconds later on the Mirko Buttazzoni second of the season. Then, just 90 seconds after that, the Riverhawks would regain the lead at 3-2 on Matt CCrasa'sthird of the season. The Golden Knights would keep fighting and tie the game up again on Ryan Richardson's second goal with 4:09 left in the second period to end the second period tied at four. When the teams returned for the third period, both would be looking for the go-ahead goal, but the Riverhawks would be the ones that would get the 4-3 lead with just under ten minutes left on Owen Cole's fifth of the season. The Golden Knights would not be denied on this day as they would tie it up again, this time on the Ellis Rickwood goal, his third of the season, and from there, the game would head to overtime. In the three-on-three overtime, both teams would have their chances. Still, no one would be able to light the lamp, and the game would officially go as a 4-4 tie, but because of the weekend tournament, a winner would be needed, which would be the Massachusetts Lowell Riverhawks on the eighth round of the shootout. Henry Welsch would make saves in the winning effort for the Riverhawks, and they went to10-on the three seasons. It would be the final game of the 2nd annual Adirondack Winter Invitational presented by Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, and it would feature a matchup of a pair of top 20 teams as the #16 Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks and the #20 Clarkson Golden Knights from the Lake Placid Olympic Center Herb Brooks Arena. It would be the second game of the day from the famed Herb Brooks Arena as part of the 2nd annual Adirondack Winter Invitational, and it would feature a matchup inside the top the 20 as the #10 Providence Friars would square off with the #20 Clarkson Golden Knights. The game would start for the Friars as they would waste little time getting the contest's opening goal at the 4:15 mark of the first period on Tanner Adams's seventh goal of the season and take the early 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 13:34 mark of the period when the Friars would score this time on the shorthand from Nick Poisson for his 4th of the season. The Golden Knights would finally get into the scoring act two minutes later when Jared Mangan scored the powerplay for his fourth season, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there till the 8:57 mark of the second period when the Golden Knights found the equalizer from Ryan Richardson for his fourth of the season and tied the game. That would be the last of the scoring for regulation, and the next 32 minutes would go without a goal. So the teams would head to the overtime, and for some three-on-three hockey, at the 1:57 mark of the period, Graham Gamache would get the game-winner and his third goal of the season. In the winning effort for the Friar, Phillipp Svedeback made 23 saves as they went to 9-3-2 in the season and played for the St. Lawrence Saints tomorrow to finish the tournament. As for the Golden Knights, Ethan Langenegger would make 28 saves as they fall to 9-5-1 and will have another top-20 opponent tomorrow as they will take on the Massachusetts Lowell Riverhawks. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Soccer would be hosting their third straight opponent from the Liberty League at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse Complex against the Clarkson Golden Knights. Then Golden Knights would get the opening goal of the match in the 30th minute from Maddie Lopol to give the Golden Knights the 1-0 lead on the penalty kick and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the second half they would go back and forth as the Cardinals would try and get the equalizer but in the 60th minute, the Golden Knights would expand their lead to 2-0 on Brooke Butler's second goal of the season. Then in the 75th minute, the Golden Knights would put the game on ice as they added their third goal to give them a 3-0 lead on the Ema Robinson goal her fourth of the season. That would do it for the scoring on the day as the Clarkson Golden Knights would get the 3-0 win and go to 3-3 on the season as the Cardinals fall to 1-5. As for the Cardinals, they will be back in action Saturday as they travel to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils in their first conference test of the season. Gallery

Clarkson Golden Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse March 7th 2024

Plattsburgh State's Lillian Gillroy (14) and Clarkson's Madelynne Barnum (13) battle for the ball off the face off as they go for control. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Lacrosse team would return home for a nonconference matchup against a fellow north country for the Clarkson Golden Knights at the Fieldhouse Complex. The game would not start good for the home Cardinals as they would be down 8-2 after just the first quarter scoring for the Cardinals were Cynthia Barnosky and Maddy Garcia while the Golden Knights would have Grace Graney (twice), Makenna Cassin (twice), Julia Lavarnway, Gabby Cranfield, Madelynn Barnum (twice). In the second quarter the Cardinals would do a little better on defense as they would hold the Golden Knights to four goals but their offense wouldnt have much as they would only get one for a 4-1 quarter getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Janey Adams while the Knights would have Julia Larnaway (third of the game), Mckenna Cassin (third of the game), Madelynn Barnum (second of the game) and Gabby Cranfield (second of the game). When the teams returnd for the third quarter the Cardinals looked way better but they wouldn't be able to get over the hump of the Golden Knights as It would be a 4-4 quarter to make it a 16-7 game with Caitlin Nash, Fiona Fitzgerald and Cynthia Barnosky (second of the game) while Hailey Millington, Brooklynne Perrigo, Julia Larnaway (a fourth of the game) and Makenna Cassin (third of the game). In the fourth quarter the teams would just finish out the game and the Knights would have a 2-1 quarter getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Cynthia Barnosky (third of the game) while Madelynn Barnum would get her third and fourth of the game as the Golden Knights would get the 18-8 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Knights go to 2-0 on the season and the goalies combine for 3 saves on the afternoon. While the Plattsburgh State Cardinals went to 1-2 on the season and had 11 saves in the game. Gallery
