Northeastern Clinton's Maxx Rabideau (00) with the save as the Nighthawks crashed down the net for the goal attempt. It would be the regular season final for both the Northeaster Clinton Cougars and the #7 Peru Nighthawks, and they would meet up at the Apple Bowl at Peru High School. The Nighthawks would look to avenge their only time of the season. The Nighthawks would control the game through the first half, but no one could find the niet, and it would be tied at zero. The game would stay there until the Cougars took the 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute on the Evias Carpenter goal. They would stay there till the 69th minute when the Nighthawks would break through and tie the game in the 69th minute on the Collin Powers goal. Then, three minutes later, in the 72nd minute, the Nighthawks would take the lead on the Nolan Miner goal at 2-1. Then, to finish off the 9-minute bridge, the Nighthawks would make it a 3-1 game in the 78th minute on the Nick Petro goal. The Nighthawks would get the win, finish off the undefeated regular season at 13-0-1, and go into the playoffs as the number 1 seed in the Section VII A bracket. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they will finish the regular season at 9-2-4 as they enter the Section VII B playoffs. Gallery

A pair of Ausable Valley defenders bring down Peru's Landon Wilkins (32) short of the first down. It would be week 7 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Ausable Valley Patriots on the Nighthawk's senior night. The Nighthawks would take the early lead in the game at 7-0 on the 4-yard rush by Chase Carpenter 2 minutes into the game. Then, to finish the quarter, the Nighthawks would add two rushing touchdowns to give them the 21-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks continued their success and added a pair of touchdowns from Chase Carpenter and Jake Frechette, who took the 34-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot and expand their lead to 41-0 on the Owen Smith 1-yard run. Then, in the fourth quarter, the Patriots would break through and get on the board as they connected on a 74-yard pass to Lucas Dashnaw and got the two-point conversion to make it a 41-8 game, and that's where the scoring would end. With the win, the Nighthawks go to 4-2 in the season as they enter the season finale next week against the Moriah Vikings. As for the Ausable Valley Patriots, they fall to 0-7 on the season and will finish off their season next weekend against the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

Saranac Lake's David Montroy (34) fends off Peru's Chris Williams (12) as he breaks off the big run. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm from the Apple Bow. The Peru Nighthawks would get off to a quick start and have a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter on the Red Storm. The Nighthawks would keep the pedal down as they would get a 6-yard score from Landon Wilkins at the 3:15 mark and make it a 28-0 game. Then the Red Storm would get on the board with 1:53 left in the half on a 46-yard scoop and score of the Red Storm, making it a 28-7 game. Then, with 1- seconds left in the half, the Red Storm would score again on a 6-yard run to make it a 28-14 game as they head to the intermission. With under four minutes left in the third, the Nighthawks would extend the lead to 34-14 on a 1-yard run by Wyatt Bridges to make it 34-14. The game would stay there till the three-minute mark of the fourth when Carpenter would score on a 56-yard pass and catch it, making it a 41-14 game. Then, with 2:40 left in the game, Landon Wilkins would break off a big 73-yard run for the score and take the 48-14 victory, and from there, they would hold on for the win. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 3-2 in the season as they will host the Ausable Valley Patriots next weekend. Meanwhile, the Saranac Lake Red Storm would fall to 2-3 during the season as they will travel to Saranac and take on the Spartans next weekend. Gallery

We would have Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer action as the #9 Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm as they were looking to keep their undefeated season going. The Nighthawks would waste little time getting the lead as they would take the 1-0 lead just ten minutes into the game on the Declan Baker goal. Then, as time would expire on the opening half, the Nighthawks would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Zach Benson buzzer beater. The Nighthawks would come out of the locker room hot and extend their lead to 3-0 in the 43rd minute on the Collin Powers goal, and he would add two more in ten minutes to have a hat trick and give the Nighthawks a commanding 5-0 lead. Then, to end the game in the 65th minute, Alex Watts would score to give the Nighthawks the 6-0 lead and then hold on from there for the shutout victory and go to 11-0-1 on the season as they head into their next match on October 18th against the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Saranac Lake Red Storm, they fall to 6-7 in the season, and they will look to get back to 500 in the year as they take on Boquet Valley on October 15th. Gallery

We would battle in class A inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #4 Peru Nighthawks in Boy's Soccer action. The Nighthawks would open up the scoring in the 17th minute on the goal from Zach Benson as Nighthawks would take the 1-0 lead. It wouldn't take long for the Nighthawks to extend their lead to 2-0 as Jordan Osborne would score in the 21st minute, and that's where the scoring would end for the first half. When the teams returned for the second half, the Hornets would come out buzzing, but they could not break through for a goal. The Nighthawks would take control of the game in the 60th minute on the Nolan Miner as the Nighthawks would secure the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks would stay undefeated as they go to 9-0-1 on the season and will be back in action on October 10th as they host the Saranac Spartans from the Apple Bowl. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets will fall to 6-2-1 with both their losses coming at the hands of the Nighthawks and will be back in action on Monday evening as they will host the Schroo Lake Wildcats.
