It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. The winning effort for the Saranac Lake Red Storm would go to 16-7 on the season as Mik Denkenberger would lead the way with 15 points as they head into the New York State Tournament next week. The Saranac Lake Red Storm celebrated their 51-44 victory over the Beekmantown Eagles in the second game of the Champions Challenge. It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. It would be the opening game of the Section VII Champions Challenge Boys' Basketball as the #4 Bolton Eagles from Class D would take the #17 Moriah Vikings from Class C at the Clinton Community College gym. The Vikings would surge to a big lead after the first quarter as they would have a 23-6 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles offense would come to life, but the Vikings would stay hot as the Vikings would win the quarter 24-16 and take the 47-22 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the offense explosion on both sides continued, as the Eagles won the quarter at 15-14, but the Vikings still led at 61-37. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they would win the quarter at 25-15, but the Vikings would hold on for the 76-62 victory. In the winning tournament for the Vikings, they would go to 1 on the season, as Cooper Allen went for 38 points, and Tandy headheaded their New York State Tournament game against the Lisbon Golden Knights.
