It would be a late-season contest inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from the Beekmantown Central School as the Eagles would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boys Soccer action. It would be a very evenly matched contest between a couple of good teams that would see the Eagles have the shot-on-net advantage by a count of 8-4. This game would need more than regulation time to decide the winner as the score would be deadlocked with no score as they would play the needed 80 minutes. In the extra time, the Eagles would finally get the needed goal from Ian McCasland for the 1-0 win. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles would finish off their regular season with a 8-5-1 record while the Nighthawks finish the season at 9-4-1 and now both teams will look forward to the upcoming playoffs. The Beekmantown Eagles celebrate their overtime game-winner that came in the 85th minute from Ian McCasland and send the home crowd home happy. it would be a late-season contest inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from the Beekmantown Central School as the Eagles would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boys Soccer action. It would be a very evenly matched contest between a couple of good teams that would see the Eagles have the shot-on-net advantage by a count of 8-4. Beekmantown's Louis Sweenor (32) fights through the tackles and dives ahead for the score with defenders all over him. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would be hosting the Beekmantown Eagles in a mid-season tilt. The Eagles would get the scoring started on a 3-yard run just 4:36 into the game and take the 7-0 lead. The Patriot's defense would do their best to keep the game tight in the early stages as it would stay there till the 3:04 mark of the second quarter when the Eagles would strike on a 19-yard pass to Peyton Viau to extend the lead to 14-0. Then in the final couple minutes of the half, the Eagles would expand on their lead on Louis Sweenor's second running touchdown of the game to take the 21-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles offense would stay hot and take a 28-0 lead with 3 minutes left in the quarter on a Peyton Viau 36-yard passing touchdown for second on the night. Then as time would expire in the third quarter the Eagles would strike again this time to Patrick Hagadorn for the 18-yard pass strike and that would end the scoring as neither team would break the goal line in the fourth quarter. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles go to 3-3 on the season and will travel to Saranac Lake next week. The Ausable Valley Patriots fall to 1-5 on the season and will have a home tilt next week against the undefeated Saranac Spartans. Gallery

It would only be the second week of the high school football season but it would be a big match-up as the Beekmantown Eagles would host long-time rival the Peru Nighthawks for early season bragging rights. The Eagles would get on the board first in the early stages of the first quarter with a field goal and take a 3-0 lead. However, the Nighthawks would answer back as time would expire in the first quarter on a 75-yard run by Sawyer Schlitt and take the 7-3 lead. Halfway through the second quarter the Eagles would soar and retake the lead at 10-7 on a 80-yard pass to Zack Lapier for the score. Although with just under 2 minutes left in the half, the Nighthawks and Sawyer Schlitt would strike again for his second score of the game and take the 13-10 lead at the intermission. The Eagles would come out flying in the third quarter as Nathan Parliament would score on a fifteen-yard run and retake the lead at 17-10. However, from there the Nighthawks would take control of the game as Sawyer Schlitt would score two more times and take a 27-17 lead after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would put an end to the rivalry game on this night when Landon Duprey would have a pick 6 for 85 yards and secure the 33-17 win. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 2-0 while the Eagles fall to 0-2 on the season. The Nighthawks will look to see if they stay undefeated next week as they host the Plattsburgh Hornets while the Eagles will look to get their first win of the season as they will travel to Moriah. It would be time for the Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball finals from Clinton Community College and it would feature the top two seeds as it would be the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Beekmantown Eagles. It would be a high-scoring but tight game through the first quarter as the Eagles would have a 16-14 lead. The game would stay tight through the second quarter although the defenses would be on display for the quarter as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would win the quarter 8-6 and tie the game at 22 as the teams would enter halftime. When the teams returned for the third quarter the game would remain tight as the Eagles would win the quarter by a slim 12-11 score and take a 34-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Eagles would be just too much for the Red Storm as they would win the 24-17 and secure the 58-50 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would be crowned the 2023 Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball champions and will advance to the NYSPHSAA Tournament and take on the Section X representative next week. The Beekmantown Eagles have crowned the 2023 Section VII Class B champion with a 58-50 win over the Saranac Lake Red Storm. It would be time for the Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball finals from Clinton Community College and it would feature the top two seeds as it would be the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Beekmantown Eagles. It would be a high-scoring but tight game through the first quarter as the Eagles would have a 16-14 lead. The game would stay tight through the second quarter although the defenses would be on display for the quarter as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would win the quarter 8-6 and tie the game at 22 as the teams would enter halftime. When the teams returned for the third quarter the game would remain tight as the Eagles would win the quarter by a slim 12-11 score and take a 34-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Eagles would be just to much for the Red Storm as they would win the 24-17 and secure the 58-50 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would be crowned the 2023 Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball champions and will advance to the NYSPHSAA Tournament and take on the Section X representative next week. Saranc's Landon Giroux (17) comes in with the check on Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) as was he was looking to break in on the goalie. It would be the Section VII D2 Boy's Hockey championship from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena and it would feature the top 2 teams as the top-seeded and number 2 in the state Beekmantown Eagles would host the number 2 seeded and number 20 in the state Saranac Chiefs. Although there would be a wrinkle this year as luck would have it with the state tournament brackets both teams would be locked into the tournament so that there would be an even eight teams. With that being said both teams would be giving it their all though so they could have that sectional championship banner hanging from the rafters and the opening goal of the game would come three minutes in on the Sam Bingel goal to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. Although the 1-0 lead would be short-lived as the Chiefs would answer right back 28 seconds later on the Ethan Barnes goal to tie the game at 1. The Eagles would come back though and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on Louis Sweenor's goal at the 8:44 mark of the period. With just over a minute left in the period the Eagles would take the 3-1 lead on Sam Bingel's second goal of the period. The game would stay there till the 9:05 mark of the second period when the Eagles would extend the lead to 4-1 when Keegan Seamone would light the lamp. Although the Chiefs wouldn't go quietly as Landon Duprey would score with 3:40 left in the period to make it a 4-2 game. Although as the period was ending Sam Bingel would score with two seconds left in the period to take the 5-2 lead into the third period. In the third period, the wheels would fall off for the Chiefs as they would give up four goals from Zach Lapier, Copper Burdo, Luke Moser, and Parker Pryce while the Chiefs would answer back with one goal from Nolan Miner as the Eagles would get the 9-3 victory. In the winning effort, Austin Dosier would make 28 saves as they advance to the New York State Division II Quarterfinals and will take on the defending state champions Pelham Pelicans on March 4th. While for the Chiefs Joey Mitchell would make 26 saves as they also head into the New York State Division II Quarterfinals and will travel to take on the Queensbury Spartans on March 4th as they look to head to Buffalo for the state final four the following weekend.
