It would be the annual return of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic. The day's opening game would see a matchup between the Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII and the Malone Huskies from Section X in a rematch from an earlier match this season. It would be a great start for the Malone Huskies as they roll out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter with some great pressure defense. The teams would be more evenly matched in the second quarter as the Eagles would find their offense. It would be an 18-16 quarter for the Huskies, and they would take the 33-20 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, both offenses would stay hot, and it would be a 24-21 quarter for the Eagles, but the Huskies would hold onto the lead at 54-44 lead. When the fourth quarter would start, the Huskie offense would go to sleep as the Eagles would step up their defense, and they would have a 15-6 quarter. The game would come down to the buzzer when Bradley Popure hit the buzzer-beater to give the Huskies the 60-59 victory. In the winning effort, they will go to 4-3 on the season as they will play the Peru Nighthawks tomorrow for a chance to win the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic. It would be the second game of the tripleheader of the Section VII Championship of Basketball Day 1 from Clinton Community College. It would be the only boys' game of the first day as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up for the Class A Finals. The game would start with the Plattsburgh Hornets having the upset on their mind and they would show it with a 19-13 quarter to get the game started. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to find their shot, take a bite out of the Hornet's lead with a 13-8 quarter, and make it a one-point game at the half with the Hornets holding onto the 1-point lead at 27-26. When the teams returned for the second half the see-saw affair would continue as the Eagles would get that 1 point and have a 14-13 quarter to make the game even as they headed into the fourth quarter tied at 40. In that fourth quarter, the offenses on both sides would come alive but the Eagles would be just too much down the stretch as they would have a 20-14 quarter and get the 60-54 victory. In the winning effort, Beekmantown's Josh Sands would lead the way with a game-high 20 points and go to 16-5 on the season. With the win, the Beekmantown Eagles enter the NYSPHSAA Tournament and will play the winner of section ii on Wednesday from Averill Park. Gallery

It would be the crosstown rivalry matchup as the Beekmantown Eagles would make the short 7-mile trek over to Plattsburgh High School and take on the Hornets in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action. The game would be tight through the first 8 minutes of the game with the Hornets having a slim 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay tight but the the Eagles would have a better quarter with a 17-12 quarter and take the 30-26 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles would stay hot and be able to expand on their lead at 48-38 as they would have a 18-12 quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would just be too much for the Hornets on this night as they would have a 14-10 quarter and capture the 62-48 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles go to 7-5 while the Hornets fall to 8-6 on the season as the two teams battle for the division win down the stretch. Gallery
