Saranac Lake's Lexie Donaldson (6) rises up for the spike that she would kill right back down the middle. The season may be still early but it would be a battle of unbeaten at Plattsburgh High Gym as the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Plattsburgh Hornets would look to 3-0 on the early. The first game of the night would be super competitive as there would be multiple lead changes throughout but in the end the Hornets would take game 1 25-18. In the second game, the Hornets would come out and take the early big lead and hold it from there even through a mid-set run by the Red Storm but the Hornets would get the 25-11 win. The times would go to the third and the Hornets would look to stay perfect on the season as they would take on the Lake Placid Blue Bombers. As for the Red Storm, they will look to restart their winning streak as they host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on September 19th. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Olivia LaMountain (3) and Peru's Reese Duprey battle for the ball at midfield. We would have the crosstown rival game as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Soccer action from the Plattsburgh High Sports Athletic Complex. The Nighthawks would not waste time getting the game's opening goal just three minutes in when Maggie Garrow would strike the back of the net for the 1-0 lead early. Although, the Hornets would be able to get the equalizer later in the half to tie the game at one point to end the first half. The game would stay tied until the 53rd minute when Amaya Abellard would score to give the Hornets the lead, and from there, they would hold on for the victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would stay perfect on the season and go to 4-0, while the Nighthawks fall to 1-2. Gallery

It would be a nonsectional game today at the Plattsburgh High Sports Complex as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in Boy's Soccer action. This would be a game that the Hornets would be in control from the opening kick of the game as they would put up a seven spot in the first half to take control of the game In the second half it would be more of the same as they would add another three markers in the half to help them secure the victory on the afternoon and go to 2-1 on the early season. Platsburgh's Olivia Lewis (16) with the tip at the net for the Hornet's point. It would be the season opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets and Northeastern Clinton Cougars from Plattsburgh High School in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference. It might have been the season opener for the Hornets they looked like they were in mid-season form as they would dispense of the Cougars in just 45 minutes 25-6, 25-2, and 25-7. With the win, the Hornets would start their season at 1-0 while the Cougars fall to 0-1. Gallery

Granville/Whitehall's CJ Monty (35) with the stiff arm on Plattsburgh's Landon Ladue (4) as he battles for the first down and the extra yards. It would be the opening weekend of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Football season and it would see an intersectional matchup between the host Plattsburgh Hornets from Section VII and the visiting Granville/Whitehall Golden Horde from Section II from Plattsburgh High School. The game would start well for the visiting Golden Horde as they would take the 6-0 lead just 90 seconds into the game on a 2-yard run by the running back CJ Monty. They would answer again just over halfway through the quarter to extend their lead to 14-0 on their second running touchdown from CJ Monty. The Hornets would keep fighting and they would get on the board in the closing minutes of the second quarter when they would connect with Braeden Calkins for the touchdown reception making it a 14-6 game as they ended the first half. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be the tale of two halves as the rain would start to fall on the game and slow down the offense. The Golden Horde would be able to get through the raindrops, get a score, and make it a 20-6 game as they would enter the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Golden Horde would be able to catch their footing in the weather as they added two more touchdowns as they would secure the 34-6 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Horde would start their season off 1-0 as they enter section II play against Warrensburg/Lake George. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 0-1 as they will take on the Ausable Valley Patriots who will both be looking to get their first win of the season. Gallery
