It would be another night of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Basketball action, this time from the Plattsburgh High School, and it would see the Hornets tipping off against the Ausable Valley Patriots. The game would be tight as both teams found the basket at a good clip and tied at 12 after the first quarter. Both teams would keep up their good scoring in the second quarter, but the Hornets would be a little better in the quarter at 13-11 and take the 25-23 lead into the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter, the defense would step up for the Patriots, and they would have a 10-6 quarter and take the 33-31 lead into the final quarter. It would be another night of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Basketball action, this time from the Plattsburgh High School, and it would see the Hornets tipping off against the Ausable Valley Patriots. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season for the Plattsburgh Hornets, and the Peru Nighthawks would renew their rivalry again on the hardwood. The game would start well for the Nighthawks as they would jump to a 19-12 lead after the first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot as they would have a 19-14 quarter and take the 38-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, they played an even third quarter, with the Nighthawks winning the quarter 11-10 and taking the 49-36. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would do their best to get back in the game with a shutdown defense, and they would win the quarter 10-2, but it would not be enough on this night as the Nighthawks would get the 51-46 win and the Nighthawks would go to 3-0 on the season while the Hornets fall to 0-1 on the season. Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple (72( watches the puck in the chest for one of his 30-plus saves on the night on the shoot from La Salle's Ben Mannis (14). It would be the opening night of the High School Hockey season, and see the Plattsburgh Hornets host the Lasalle Cadets from Section 2 from the Ameri-can North Arena. The game would start well for the road Cadets as they would get the game's opening goal in the first five minutes of the contest. The Hornets would keep coming and tie the game up at one at the 8:19 mark of the first period when Colby Chase would get his first goal. The game would not stay tied very long cause at the 10:46 mark of the period, just two minutes later, the Hornets would take the 2-1 lead on the Lucas Dashnaw power-play goal to give the Hornets the 2-1 lead, and that's where the first period ended. There would be no scoring in the second period of the game, but both teams would have their chances to take the lead; they just couldn't put it away. When the teams head to the third period, the Cadets do not waste time tying the game up, as they get the equalizer from Michael Nocera at 4:53. The rest of the period and overtime would go by without the teams finding the net again and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. Both goalies would be on point for the opener as Carter Irving for the Cadets and Owen Chapple for the Hornets would have over 30 saves on the net as both teams start the season 0-0-1. The Cadets are back in action on Saturday as they will take on the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Hornets, they will be back in action Saturday against Niskayuna Hawks. Gallery

The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would enter the playoffs undefeated as they would take on the #4 seeded Saranac Spartans with a spot in the Sectionals finals on Friday against the winner of the Beekmantown Eagles and Saranac Lake Red Storm. The home Hornets would come out firing, but the Spartans would do their best to keep the first set tight, and the Hornets would do better with a 25-19 victory. In the second set, the Spartans would after the win from the start of the seat, and they would get the 25-20 set win. As they head into the third set, the Chiefs would leave little to the imagination as they would get the easy 25-7 victory. As they would head to the 4th set, the Hornets would stay hot as they would get the easy 25-13 victory. The Hornets would win the match 3-1 and go to 17-0 on the season as they will take on the winner of the Beekmantown Eagles and Saranac Lake Red Storm Friday evening with a title on the line. It would be the lone section vii football gamer of the weekend as the #2 Peru Nighhawks would host the #3Plattsburgh Hornets in Class B semi-finals as the winner would get the #1 Beekmantown Eagles the next weekend at Plattsburgh High School with a title on the line. The Nighthawks would get the game's opening points halfway through the first quarter in an unusual way with a safety and take the 2-0 lead. The Nighthawks would then add a touchdown two minutes later from Elijah Hendricks on the 12-yard pass and take the 9-0 lead. The game would stay there till the six-minute mark of the second when Wyatt Bridges would score from 2 yards out to take a 16-0 lead. Then, with three minutes left in the half, the Hornets would get on the board with a two-yard run from Dan Hartman to make it a 16-6 game, and that's where we would enter the half. When we returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay on the pedal when Wyatt Bridges would get the 16-yard score 4 minutes in and extend their lead to 23-6. The Hornets would answer back with three minutes left in the third quarter when Jahvari Anderson would score on the 26-yard pass reception to make it a 23-12 game. The Nighthawks would answer back 30 seconds into the 4th quarter when Wyatt Bridges would score from 19 yards out and make it a 30-12 game.
