The game would be tight through the first half as both teams would have their chances, but no one could put in the net for a score. When the teams returned for the second half, the Blue Bombers answered early with a goal in the 49th minute to give them the 1-0 lead. Then, in the game's closing minutes, the 76th to be exact, the Blue Bombers would add a second goal to secure the 2-0 win. In the winning effort, the Lake Placid Blue Mombers would go to 6-7-1 on the season as they head into their weekend contest against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. Peru's Chris Williams (12) broke through the tackle for the big gain as the Nighthawks would get the 41-8 victory and go to 4-2 on the season. It would be week 7 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Ausable Valley Patriots on the Nighthawk's senior night. The Nighthawks would take the early lead in the game at 7-0 on the 4-yard rush by Chase Carpenter 2 minutes into the game. Then, to finish the quarter, the Nighthawks would add two rushing touchdowns to give them the 21-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks continued their success and added a pair of touchdowns from Chase Carpenter and Jake Frechette, who took the 34-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot and expand their lead to 41-0 on the Owen Smith 1-yard run. Then, in the fourth quarter, the Patriots would break through and get on the board as they connected on a 74-yard pass to Lucas Dashnaw and got the two-point conversion to make it a 41-8 game, and that's where the scoring would end. With the win, the Nighthawks go to 4-2 in the season as they enter the season finale next week against the Moriah Vikings. Beekmantown's Shamus Bilbeau (1) goes around the defenders for the score as the Eagles would get the 55-16 victory. It would be a battle of the top two teams in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference during week #7 as the #25 Beekmantown Eagles would host the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Eagles would get off to a fast start just 2:12 into the game on a 34-yard run by Shamus Bilbeau to give the 7-0 lead. Then, three minutes later, the Eagles would strike again, this time on a Parker Broughton score from 14 yards out and take the 14-0 lead. Then, in the final minute of the quarter, Parker Broughton would score again, this time from 39 yards out, and take the 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets would answer back 24 seconds into the second quarter on an 85-yard catch and run to Dominic Deangelo to make it a 20-8 game. However, the Eagles would answer right back 30 seconds later on a 50-yard pass and catch to Parker Broughton for his third score of the half as they made it a 28-8 game. Then, just over five minutes into the second quarter, Miguel Herrera was on the 1-yard score. The Eagles would end the scoring in the first half on a 30-yard pass to Patrick Hagadorn with seconds left to take the 41-8 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would pick up right where they left off as they would score just 2:15 into the quarter on a 13-yard run from Parker Broughton for his fourth score and make it a 48-8 game. Danny Hartman would be intercepted on the issuing Hornets drive, and Seth Beebee would bring it back for the score and make it a 55-8 game. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get their second score of the game coming from George Dejesus to make it a 55-16 game, and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would go to 6-1 on the season and finish off their season next weekend at Ausable Valley as they have clinched the regular season title. Plattsburgh's Julia Luck (15) with the bump on the return from the Bobcats to set up the Hornes attack as they would get the straight sets victory. It would be Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Volleyball action from Plattsburgh High School as the Hornets would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in a late-season tilt. The Plattsburg Hornets would leave little to the contest as they would take the straight-set victory by the score of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-14 for the victory. With the victory, the Hornets would stay perfect on the season as they go to 12-0 and head into their next match next week at Beekmantown for a matchup between the top 2 teams in the league. Plattsburgh's Nate Baker (4) shot from a distance and scored. He would have one goal as the Hornets and Cougars would tie at 2. It would be Section VII Boy's Soccer action from the Plattsburgh High Athletic Complex as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars as the teams start to focus on the playoffs and a conference title. The home Hornets would waste little time getting the game's opening goal in the 9th minute from Nate Baker for the 1-0 lead. The Cougars would come fighting back and tie the game in the 17th minute on the Evais Carpenter goal to make it a 1-1 game. Then the Hornets would find a way to answer that and regain the 1-goal lead at 2-1 on the Nate Lambert goal. However, the Cougars would not let that lead stand as they would answer right back 2 minutes later in the 28th minute on the Kaze Carpenter goal to tie the game at 2. From there, the defenses and the goalkeepers would stand tall as there would be no more scoring through the regulation and the two overtimes, and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. The Hornets will go to 8-2-2 on the season as they head into their next game Friday at home against the Ausable Valley Patriots. Chazy's Pryce Parker (9) bends in the shot on the net as he would have a goal in the Chazy 9-1 victory. It would be a match-up inside Section VII Boy's Soccer action with a pair of mountain valley teams doing battle at Seton Catholic as the Knights would host the #5 Chazy Eagles, looking to stay undefeated on the season. The Eagles would waste little time getting the game's first goal at the 13-minute mark from Jacoby Weeden for the 1-0 lead. Then the Eagles would add another couple of goals from Landon Duprey, and the Eagles would take the 3-0 lead. The Eagles weren't down, though; in the 38th minute, they would extend the lead to 4-0 on a goal from Pryce Parker. Then, to finish out the half, they would get one more from Landon Duprey to finish off his hat trick and give the Eagles a 5-0 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay on the gas and add another goal in the 50th minute, this time from Jack Rovers, as they took the 6-0 lead. Then, in the 62nd minute, the Knights would get on the board to avoid the shutout on the goal by 2. In the 70th minute, the Eagles would stay on the take and get a goal from Hudson Ziel as they took the 7-1 lead and added one more late to secure the 8-1 victory. With the win, the Chazy Eagles improve their record to 11-1 on the season as they will take on the Saranac Lake Red Storm on Thursday. Plattsburgh's Braeden Calkins (12) had the game-winning touchdown with 12 seconds left for the 28-22 victory. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans as part of their homecoming weekend and their last home game of the regular season. The game would start slow, with no scoring in the first quarter. The Spartans would get the game's opening score 32 seconds into the second quarter on a River Poulin 9-yard run for the 6-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 9:14 mark of the quarter when the Hornets would block the Spartan's punt attempt, and it would roll out the back of the endzone for the Hornet's safety, making it a 6-2 game. Then, in the final 30 seconds of the half, the Hornets would take the lead on a 29-yard strike to Braeden Calkins and take the 8-6 lead to the locker room. The Spartans would not go quietly and retake the lead at 14-8 on a 1-yard run by River Poulin to take the lead 14-8 at the 2:11 mark. Then, at the 6:11 mark of the third quarter, the Spartans would extend their lead to 22-8 on the 2-yard run by Zack Lucia. In the closing minutes of the third, the Hornets would cut the lead in half on the Dominic Deangelo score to make it 22-16 game. The game would stay there till the 5:48 mark of the fourth when Dominic Deangelo would score again, this time on a 56-yard pass and catch to make it a 22-22 game coming down the stretch. Then, with 12 seconds left in the game, the Hornets would drive down, hit Braeden Calkins for the 2-yard pass, and get the 28-22 victory. Peru's Landon Wilkins (32) dives for the endzone and gets one of his scores on the afternoon as they would get the 48-14 win over the red storm. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm from the Apple Bow. The Peru Nighthawks would get off to a quick start and have a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter on the Red Storm. The Nighthawks would keep the pedal down as they would get a 6-yard score from Landon Wilkins at the 3:15 mark and make it a 28-0 game. Then the Red Storm would get on the board with 1:53 left in the half on a 46-yard scoop and score of the Red Storm, making it a 28-7 game. Then, with 1- seconds left in the half, the Red Storm would score again on a 6-yard run to make it a 28-14 game as they head to the intermission. With under four minutes left in the third, the Nighthawks would extend the lead to 34-14 on a 1-yard run by Wyatt Bridges to make it 34-14. The game would stay there till the three-minute mark of the fourth when Carpenter would score on a 56-yard pass and catch it, making it a 41-14 game. Then, with 2:40 left in the game, Landon Wilkins would break off a big 73-yard run for the score and take the 48-14 victory, and from there, they would hold on for the win. Saranac Lake (9) comes in on the slide tackle of Peru's Ryan Campbell (9) to break up the attack. Althogh the Peru Nighthawks would get the 6-0 win on this Friday afternoon. We would have Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer action as the #9 Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm as they were looking to keep their undefeated season going. The Nighthawks would waste little time getting the lead as they would take the 1-0 lead just ten minutes into the game on the Declan Baker goal. Then, as time would expire on the opening half, the Nighthawks would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Zach Benson buzzer beater. The Nighthawks would come out of the locker room hot and extend their lead to 3-0 in the 43rd minute on the Collin Powers goal, and he would add two more in ten minutes to have a hat trick and give the Nighthawks a commanding 5-0 lead. Then, to end the game in the 65th minute, Alex Watts would score to give the Nighthawks the 6-0 lead and then hold on from there for the shutout victory and go to 11-0-1 on the season as they head into their next match on October 18th against the Beekmantown Eagles. Beekmantown's Shamus Bilbeau (1), with the stiff arm on the Moriah defender, breaks it down the sidelines for the score, and the Beekmantown Eagles get a 31-13 victory. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Vallery Athletic Conference Football season, and it would see the Moriah Vikings traveling up to Beekmantown and taking on the #25 Beekmantown Eagles as the Eagles would look to continue their winning ways. The Eagles would get the scoring going in the first quarter at the 8:14 mark on the 43-yard run by Parker Broughton to take the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 7:27 mark of the second quarter when the Vikings would strike for a 16-yard pass to Wyatt Whitman to tie the game at seven. The tie would be short-lived, though, as the Eagles would march down the field in 90 seconds and regain the lead at 14-7 on the 19-yard pass to Parker Broughton. Then, to close out the half, Patrick Hagadorn would hit a field goal to take the 17-7 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay hot as they extended the lead to 24-7 on Shamus Bilbeau's 28-yard run. The way through the quarter, Shamus Bilbeau would strike again, this time from 11 yards, as they took control of the game at 31-7. The game would stay there till the 4:33 mark of the fourth quarter when the Vikings would get another score, this time from Joe Pelkey from 8 yards to make it a 31-13 game, and that's where the game would end. With the win, the Beekmantown Eagles would go to 5-1 on the season as they will host the Plattsburgh Hornets in their home finale.
