It would be championship time from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the top 2 teams in the section would face off for the right to go to the New Yorj State Division II Tournament and it would be the classic rivalry as it would be between the #2 Saranac Spartans and the #1 Beekmanton Eagles. The Eaglwa would come out looking to defend their title as they would get the game's opening goal at the 2:40 mark of the first period from Edward Sweenor for the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would be able to answer back at the 7:54 mark of the period when Ashtyn Catilin would find the back of the net for his 100th career point, and that's where the scoring would end. The second period would start like the first as the Eagles would strike early at 1:04 to take the 2-1 lead from Novak Jarus. The Spartans would return and tie the game just 54 seconds later when Ryan Campbell would light the lamp. The Eagles would come back and take the lead for the third in the game at the 6:04 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would get his second goal. Shortly after that, the S[artans would return and tie the game again, this time on the shorthanded penalty shot from Nolan Miner. Then, with just under two minutes left in the second period, the Spartans would get their first lead of the game at 4-3 when Ryan Campbel would wrist it by for his second goal, and that's where the second period would end. In the third period, the Spartans would expand their lead to 5-3 when Ryan Campbell would complete the hat trick at 9:15, when the puck would squeak through the five hole for the goal. Then, in the game's closing minute, the Spartans would add the empty-netter to secure the 6-3 win. In the winning effort, the Spartans advanced to the New York State Division II Boys' Hockey Tournament, where they will host the #7 Queensbury Spartans for the right to go to the final four. Plattsburgh's Diego Andres Rio Barboza (0) drives in and flips it in the basket for the score as part of a five-point evening. It would be the weekend's last game from the Clinton Community College Gym. It would conclude championship weekend with the Boys' Basketball Class A Championship between the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets and the #2 Beekmantown Eagles. The game would start well for the #1 Hornets as they would race out to a 17-7 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles defense stepped up, slowed down the Hornets, and won the quarter 11-8, but still trailed 25-18 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would stay tight, but the Eagles would be better in the quarter with a 15-13 quarter, but the Hornets would take the 38-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would surge as they started the quarter on a 13-0 run and won the quarter 19-8 to get the come from behind 52-46 victory. In the winning effort for the Eagles, Duprey and Brunson would lead the way with ten points as they go to 13-7 on the season and enter the New York State Class A Tournament against the winner of Section II. Peru's Reese Duprey (5) with the jumper from the corner as part of a 24-point night as the Nighthawks get the 52-38 victory. It would be the start of Section VII Championship weekend from the Clinton Community College, and it would start with the Class A Girls' Championship and see #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Beekmantown Eagles. It would be a close game at the start as the Nighhthawks would have the 10-7 lead after the first quarter. The game would still be tight in the second quarter as it would be an 11-8 quarter for the Nighthawks, and they would take the 21-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, they would still be tight, but the Nighthawks would have the slight edge at 14-12 and take the 35-27 lead into the final quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Nighhawks would have their best quarter of the night as they would have a 17-11 quarter to secure the 52-38 victory. In the wining effort for the Nighthawks, they will advance to the New York State Class A Tournament and take on the winner of Section 2 as Reese Duprey would lead theway with 24 points. Saranac Lake Pacid's Cassidy Goodman (31) with the glove save on the scramble play in front of the net as part of a 42 save night. It would be the semi-finals of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey as it would be a rematch of last year's Championship as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #4 Saranac Lake Lake Placid Lakers for the right to head to the Championship Monday night. The Lakers would get the game's opening goal and the first line of the first period when Ayden McCormick scored at 4:57 to take the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 4:57 mark of the second period when Edward Sweenor scored to tie the game at 1. Then, just about two minutes later, the Eagles would take the 2-1 lead on Edward Sweenor's second goal of the game. The Eagles would keep coming and extend their lead to 3-1 on Edward Sweenor's third straight goal at the 10:18 mark of the period. The Eagles and Sweenor would stay host and extend their lead to 4-1 at the 12:39 mark of the period. Although, with just 1:22 left in the period, the Lakers would add one from Carson St. Louis to make it a 4-2 game at the end of the second period. The game would stay there until the end of the third period when Mason Carter would add the empty-netter to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles' Jack Bell would make 36 saves as they advanced to the Championship against the #2 Saranac Spartans. It would be the last day of the regular season, and the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference title would be on the line, and the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Spartans would face off at the Amer Can North Sports Center. The home Saranac Spartans would get the opening goal of the game and the lone goal of the first period when Evan Patrie found the back of the net and hit the back of the Eagles netminder for the goal and a 1-0 lead. In the second period, the Spartans would keep it coming, and in the 7th minute of the period, Adrian Barnes would find the back of the net and make it a 2-0 game. The Spartans would keep coming, and at the 15:13 mark of the second period, Landon Giroux would score on the shorthand when he beat Jack Bell on the short side for the 3-0 lead. Although the Eagles would do their version of the basketball buzzer beater as they would get on the board on the Edward Sweenor goal as the second period came to a close, and the Spartans would take the 3-1 lead into the third. In the third period, the Eagles would get the game within one on Edward Sweenor's second goal at 4:24. From there, the Spartans would ret and regain the two-goal lead, and the Eagles looked for the tying goal, but neither would happen. The Saranac Spartans would get the 3-2 win and hand the Eagles their first conference loss in over 3 seasons. However, the Beekmantown Eagles would be crowned the 2024-25 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champions through the tiebreaker on goal differential by 1. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Shawn McLane would make 21 saves on the night as they go to 12-7-1 in the season and will take on the Plattsburgh Hornets in the upcoming sectional playoffs. As for the Beekmantown Eagles, Jack Bell would make 36 saves on the night as they fall to 11-7-2 on the season, get the #1 seed in the tournament, and get the winner of Saranac Lake Placid and Northeastern Clinton in the semi-finals.
