New York State High School Boy's Hockey: Lasalle Cadets @ Beekmantown Eagles December 5th 2025

Beekmantown's Jack Bell (31) comes out the night and challenges the shooter for the save the night on La Salle's Sam Branson (8). It would be the night of the 2025-26 NYSHPHSAA Boys' Hockey season, and it would see the La Salle Cadets travel up from the capital region to take on the Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh State Field House, as both teams would be looking to start their season off with a win. The first period would see both teams going through the motions as they tried to figure each other out, since there would be no scoring. In the second period, the intensity of both teams would pick up as they were looking for that opening goal, but there would be more time than anything with them a man down, then anything, as neither team would once again find the net, and they would remain tied at zero. In the third period, both teams would have their best scoring chances of the nig, ht but they still couldn't find the net, and the game would stay tied at zero. With the game tied at 0, they would head to five-minute overtime to decide a winner. Still, neither team could turn on the red light. As the BeeAsntown Eagles would start their season at 0-0-1, aack Bell would make 26 saves in the shutout, and they will be back at it tomorrow as they take on the Nisyuankain in search of that first win. As for the La Salle Caets, Alaina Winther would make 33 saves for the shutout, as they will also look for that first win as they finish off their road trip tomorrow against the Plattsburgh Hornets. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 8: Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Beekmantown Eagles October 24th 2025

Beekmantown's Garrett Pelkey (81) with the comeback catch along the sidelines for the first down as they fight for the score. It would be the last week of the regular season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference, and we would have the Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm as they look to position themself for the upcoming playoffs. The home Eagles would strike first in the 1st quarter on a 38-yard pass and catch to Blake Rock for the 6-0 lead with 31 seconds left in the 1st quarter. Then, at the 4:23 mark of the season quarter, the Eagles would extend their lead to 12-0. The Red Storm would get on the board at the 10:23 mark of the 2nd quarter with a 5-yard run by David Montroy, making it 12-7. The Eagles would regain their two-score lead on the ensuing kickoff when Shamus Bilbeau would return it 74 yards for the score and take the 18-7 lead, and that's where the scoring would end for the 1st half. The Eagles would stay hot as they returned for the third quarter when Garrett Pelkey would score on 16 16-yard score and take the big 24-7 lead early in the third quarter. The Red Storm would bite back in the deficit on a 66-yard run by David Montroy to make it 24-14. The Red Storm would answer back in a big way on a 74-yard pass and catch to Scott Holcomb as they made it a three-point game at 24-21 at the 10:07 mark of the quarter. The game would stay there till the 4:16 mark of the 4th quarter when David Montroy would score his third touchdown of the night to give the Red Storm the 28-24 lead. From there, the Red Storm defense would be up to the call and hold on for the win at 28-24. Plattsburgh's Ryan Colburn (13) with the catch and fighting through the tackle of Beekmantown's Bryson Recore (10) as he gets the first down. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season, marking the battle of crosstown rivals. The Beekmantown Eagles would travel to Plattsburgh to take on the winless Hornets, as they both look prepared for the playoffs. The Hornets would get the lone score of the opening quarter on an 11-yard run by Colden Johnson to take the 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, the offense started to come alive as Beekman took the 8-7 lead on a 10-yard pass to Garrett Pelkey. The Hornets would answer right back with their own passing touchdown this time to Ryan Colburn to make it a 13-8 Hornets lead as they enter the halftime break. When the teams returned for the 2nd half, the Eagles would regain the lead right off on a 22-yard pass to Hunter Porter, and the Eagles took the 16-13 lead. The Hornets would take the lead right back a minute later on a 58-yard pass from Jahvari Anderson to regain the lead at 20-16. The Eagles would answer back with just under five minutes left in the third quarter on the 110-yard pass to Bryson Recore,24-20. The Hornets would come back again on a crazy play, whether the running back stepped out or not, before he passed it downfield to Jo Jo Wineglass, taking the 27-24 lead as they entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would keep coming and extend their lead to 33-24 on the 4-yard run by Degio Rios. Then, as they reached the midway mark of the quarter, the Hornets put the game away with a yard pass to Ryan Colburn for his second score of the game. The Eagles fought to the end, scoring again with 5 seconds left in the game on a 17-yard strike to Shamus Bilbeau, as the game finished 39-3 in favor of the Hornets. In the winning effort, the Hornets secured their first win of the season, improving to 1-6 as they enter the last week against Ticonderoga. Section VII Champion Challenge Boy's Basketball: Beekmantown Eagles Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm March 6th 2025

Saranac Lake's Mik Denkenberger (5) swoops around the defender with the score as part of a team high 15 points. It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. The winning effort for the Saranac Lake Red Storm would go to 16-7 on the season as Mik Denkenberger would lead the way with 15 points as they head into the New York State Tournament next week. Beekmantown Eagles Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm March 6th 2025
The Saranac Lake Red Storm celebrated their 51-44 victory over the Beekmantown Eagles in the second game of the Champions Challenge. Saranac's Nolan Miner (9) comes in on the breakaway, and with the wrister, it squirs between the legs of Beekmantown's Jack Bell (31) for the goal as they get the 6-3 victory. It would be championship time from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the top 2 teams in the section would face off for the right to go to the New Yorj State Division II Tournament and it would be the classic rivalry as it would be between the #2 Saranac Spartans and the #1 Beekmanton Eagles. The Eaglwa would come out looking to defend their title as they would get the game's opening goal at the 2:40 mark of the first period from Edward Sweenor for the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would be able to answer back at the 7:54 mark of the period when Ashtyn Catilin would find the back of the net for his 100th career point, and that's where the scoring would end. The second period would start like the first as the Eagles would strike early at 1:04 to take the 2-1 lead from Novak Jarus. The Spartans would return and tie the game just 54 seconds later when Ryan Campbell would light the lamp. The Eagles would come back and take the lead for the third in the game at the 6:04 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would get his second goal. Shortly after that, the S[artans would return and tie the game again, this time on the shorthanded penalty shot from Nolan Miner. Then, with just under two minutes left in the second period, the Spartans would get their first lead of the game at 4-3 when Ryan Campbel would wrist it by for his second goal, and that's where the second period would end. In the third period, the Spartans would expand their lead to 5-3 when Ryan Campbell would complete the hat trick at 9:15, when the puck would squeak through the five hole for the goal. Then, in the game's closing minute, the Spartans would add the empty-netter to secure the 6-3 win. In the winning effort, the Spartans advanced to the New York State Division II Boys' Hockey Tournament, where they will host the #7 Queensbury Spartans for the right to go to the final four.
