It would be the start of the second day of action at the Clinton Community College Florence Gym, as the #1 Saranac Spartans would take on the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars for the right to advance to the New York State Class B Tournament. Defense would be the name of the game, as the Cougars would start at just 6-2 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offense would come alive on both sides, as the Spartans won the quarter 13-12 but trailed 18-15 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be another low-scoring affair, as the Spartans won the quarter 11-9, and the Cougars took the slim 27-26 lead into the final 8 minutes. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would let their defense stand strong as they would come back and win the quarter 12-9 to get the 38-36 victory In the winning effort for the Spartans Madison Gaginer would have 18 points as they advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season would come to end as Grace Praire would have ten points. It would be a Section VII Class A Girls' Basketball playoff tilt from Beekmantown High School as the #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #3 Plattsburgh Hornets for the right to play for a sectional title against #1 Peru Nighthawks at Clinton Community College next weekend. The game would start well for the upset-minded Hornets, who jumped out to a 13-0 lead, but the Eagles would chip away, and the Hornets would have a 17-13 lead at the end of the quarter. The Eagles would keep coming in the second quarter and send the game to the intermission tied at 22 on a 9-5 quarter. When the teams returned for the third quarter, defense would be the name of the game, as the Eagles would take a 29-27 lead into the fourth quarter thanks to a 7-5 quarter. In the fourth quarter, the game would stay tight, and Ava Weiss for the Hornets would hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds to send the game to overtime tied at 33. In the end, the home Eagles would take control in the fourth quarter and get the 43-36 victory. It would be tight through the first quarter, but both teams would have their offenses humming, as the #1 Bulldogs would be just a bit better, leading 15-13. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would stay hot as they would double up the Hornets with a 12-6 quarter and have the 27-19 lead as they hit the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Bulldogs showed no signs of slowing, as they posted a 13-7 quarter and took a 40-26 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would put the final touches on the Hornets with a 12-9 quarter as they secured the 52-35 victory. In the winning effort, the Bulldogs stay perfect on the season at 16-0 as they have their last regular season game Thursday against Canton. It would be the third game of the day in the 2026 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, featuring the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Plattsburgh Hornets, as the Hornets would look to win both on the week. The game would get off to a great start for the Hornets, who ran out to a 25-3 lead before the break. In the second half, the Griffins would do their best to get back in the game, but their slow start would kill them, as the Hornets would get the 35-19 victory. In the winning effort, the Hotnets would go 2-0 but finish second to the Saranac Spartans on point difference.
