Clinton Community College Holiday Classic Boy's Basketball: Willsboro Wolves Vs Saranac Spartans December 30th 2025

Saranac's Storm D'Ambro (0) slices through the defense on the way to the hoop for the score on the eight-point effort. The second game of the day for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic would feature the Saranac Spartans and the Willsboro Wolves. The game would start well for the Spartans, who jumped out to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Wolves had no answer for the Spartans' quick pace. In the second quarter, the Spartans would keep their foot off the gas with a 16-7 quarter and take a 37-10 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, it was more of the same for the Spartans, who led 37-17 and cruised to a 74-27 victory. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Carson Duffield led the way with 16 points as they went to 4-3 on the season. As for the Wolves, Connor Crowningshields leads the way with 11 points as they fall to 0-3 on the season. Gallery

The second game of the day for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic would feature the Saranac Spartans and the Willsboro Wolves. The game would start well for the Spartans, who jumped out to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Wolves had no answer for the Spartans' quick pace. Saranac's Hannah Forgette (5) drivs the basket with the griffins defender in tow as they get the 57-35 win. After the opening day of the 6th annual Clinton Community College Holiday Classic was postponed due to weather, the Boquet Valley Griffins and the #16 Saranac Spartans would open the two-day tournament. The Spartans would get off to a quick start as they jumped out to a 21-6 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffins tried to get in the game, but the Spartans led 14-10 and took a 35-16 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be more of the same: the Griffins would keep it close with a 14-13 quarter, but would still enter the 4th down 48-30. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans finished them off with a 14-5 run and secured the 57-35 victory. In the winning effort, Madison Gonyea led the way for the Spartans with 18 points, as they improved to 5-2 on the season. For the Griffins, they would fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery

Boquet Valley Griffins Vs #16 Saranac Spartans December 30th, 2025
Saranac's Madison Gonyea (10) wins the opening tip of the game, and she would drop 18 points as they get the 57-35 victory. After the opening day of the 6th annual Clinton Community College Holiday Classic was postponed due to weather, the Boquet Valley Griffins and the #16 Saranac Spartans would open the two-day tournament. The Spartans would get off to a quick start as they jumped out to a 21-6 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffins tried to get in the game, but the Spartans led 14-10 and took a 35-16 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be more of the same: the Griffins would keep it close with a 14-13 quarter, but would still enter the 4th down 48-30. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans finished them off with a 14-5 run and secured the 57-35 victory. In the winning effort, Madison Gonyea led the way for the Spartans with 18 points, as they improved to 5-2 on the season. For the Griffins, they would fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery
#4 Schuylerville Horses Vs #18 Saranac Spartans November 22nd 2025
The Schuylerville Horses are crowned the 2025 Class North Region Champions with the 50-14 victory. It would be a battle of top-20enty teams in the state as the #4 Schuylerville Horses would take on the #18 Saranac Spartans in the NYSPHSAA Class C North Region Final from Plattsburgh, with the winner advancing to the final four. The Horse would get out of the gate first and quickly, with a 1-yard run from Max Montgomery for the 6-0 lead at the 4:25 mark of the first quarter. The Horses would keep it going as Max Montgomery would add his second touchdown of the quarter this time from 7 yards at the 9:47 mark for the 14-0 lead. The Horses would keep it going in the second quarter, when Max Montgomery would get his third touchdown of the game his time from seven yards out at the 3:30 mark, making it a 20-0 ggame and that's where the game would be at the ahalf The Horses kept it going when they returned for the third quarter, when Max Montgomery scored his fourth of the game and made it 28-0 at the 4:20 mark. Then, with 40 seconds left in the quarter, the Horses would extend their lead, and Blake Cumm would take it 11 yards out to make it a 36-0 game at the end of the third quarter. The Spartans would finally have an answer when Tanner Fields picked up the fumble and took it 39 yards for the score at 1:50 of the fourth quarter,, making it a 36-7 game The Horses would answer back, though, as Levi Michuad would break it for a 55-yard run and make it a 42-7 game at the 6:50 mark of the fourth. Then, in the ensuing kickoff, Sam Lachre would take it 67 yards for the score and make it 4a 2-14 game. Although the Horses would have one more answer, as Levi Michuad would break again, this time for 44 yards, they would close out the game and take the 50-14 victory. In the winning effort, Schuylerville Horses would stay undefeated at 11-0 as they head to the final four. As for the Saranac Spartan, their season will end at 7-4. Gallery
NYSPHSAA Class C Football First Round: Gouvernur Wildcats Vs Saranac Spartans November 15th 2025

Saranac's Zander Daniels (11) lowers the boom on the defender and trucks him for the first down run. It would be the start of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Football playoffs, and we would see the Gouverneur Wildcats and the Saranac Spartans at Plattsburgh High School, with the winner playing Schuylerville next weekend in the quarterfinals. The teams would use the first quarter as a feeling-out time, as neither team would be able to score. Then at the 5:41 mark of the second quarter, the Spartans would strike on a 15-yard pass to Chace Scovil for the 8-0 Spartans lead. The Spartans would keep coming and extend their lead to 15-0 on a 41-yard run by Teegan Smith, and they would take the 15-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half, the Wildcats would get the game back within one score when Haden Stowell took it from 2 yards out. The game would stay there till there were 35 seconds left in the quarter when Chace Scovil would strike again, this time from 3 yards out, as the score would go to 22-6. Then at the 4:10 mark of the fourth quarter, Storm D'Ambro would score on the 17-yard pass strike and take the 29-6 lead and put the game out of reach. With that, the Spartans would get the win and go to 7-3 on the season, and will face the defending champion Schuylerville next in the quarterfinals. Gouvenour Wildcats Vs Saranac Spartans November 15th 2025
The Saranac Spartans are crowned the 2025 Section VII-X Super Bowl champions with a 29-6 win over the Gouvenour Wildcats. It would be the start of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Football playoffs, and we would see the Gouverneur Wildcats and the Saranac Spartans at Plattsburgh High School, with the winner playing Schuylerville next weekend in the quarterfinals. Saranac Spartans @ Plattsburgh Hornets April 15th 2025

It would be the Saranac Spartans and the Plattsburgh Hornets doing battle in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball action from Plattsburgh High. The Sprtans would take the early lead in the game on a pair of runs on base hits in the first inning to take the 2-0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning, the Spartans would expand their lead to a single run for the 3-0 lead. The game would stay there til the fourth when the Hornets would get on the board with a run and make it a 3-1 lead. The fifth offense would explode on both sides as they would combine for seven runs as the Spartans would take the big 8-3 lead. In the sixth inning, the Hornets would stay hot and do what they could to make ot a game with a 3-1 inning to make it a 9-6 game, and that's where it would stay to give the Spartans the 9-6 victory. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Elizabeth Recore would lead the way with a hit and a pair of RBIs as they go to 3-3 on the season. It would be the Saranac Spartans and the Plattsburgh Hornets doing battle in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball action from Plattsburgh High. The Sprtans would take the early lead in the game on a pair of runs on base hits in the first inning to take the 2-0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning, the Spartans would expand their lead to a single run for the 3-0 lead. The game would stay there til the fourth when the Hornets would get on the board with a run and make it a 3-1 lead. NYSPHSAA Division II Boy's Hockey Regional Finals: #10 Saranac Spartans Vs #6 Queensbury Spartans March 7th, 2025

Queenbury's Egan Breault (31) with the diving stop on Saranac's Landon Giroux (17) as he looked to break up the shutout. It would be the quarterfinals of the New York State Boys' Hockey Division II Tournament, and it would see #6 Queensbury Spartans and #10 Saranac Spartans from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena, with the winner going to the Final Four in Buffalo, NY, next weekend. The Queensbury Spartans would get the game's opening goal in the eighth minute of the first period when Oliver Coughlin would score, which would be the only scoring of the period. When we returned for the second period, Queensbury came out on fire as they scored three goals in the first five minutes from Cameron Porter (twice) and Ethan Kelsey to give the 4-0 lead after the second period. Queensbury would keep it going and make it 5-0 at the 8:32 mark of the third period when Ethan Kelsey would complete his hat trick. Queenbury would keep it coming and extend their lead to 6-0 at 11:11, when Cameron Porter would also score to complete a hat trick on the night. Then, in the game's closing minutes, Queensbury would get one more from Ollie Coughlan, and they secured the 7-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Queensbury Spartans will advance to the final four of the New York State Tournament, where they will get the winner of Rye and Ogdensburg. As for the Saranac Spartans, their season will come to an unfortunate end at a record of 14-8-1. Gallery
