The Witches would get the game's opening score just 3:53 into the game on the 20-yard keeper by Ryan Ingber for the 6-0 lead. The Witches wouldn't be done there as they would score again at the 8:17 mark of the first quarter on a 39-yard pass and catch Jay'den White to make it a 12-0 game. The game would stay there till there was about 2:30 left in the half when Ryan Ingber would score again, and this time from 23 yards, as the Witches would take the 18-0 lead, and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the second, the Witches would pick up where they left off, strike on a 48-yard pass, and catch Joseph Radovich to expand their lead to 26-0. Then, about halfway through the fourth quarter, the Vikings would get on the board and break the shutout bid on the score from the Hughey run to make it a 26-6 game. Then, with about 2:30 left in the game, the Witches would add one more score, this time from William Weber, as they would secure the 34-6 victory. It would be the opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class B Football tournament, and it would feature the #16 Beekmantwn Eags from Section VII taking on the #22 Ogdensburg Blue Devils from Section X from the Plattsburgh High School with the winner getting a spot in the quarterfinals. It will host Section II, Glens Falls. The game would start as a defensive battle with both teams feeling each other out, and there would be no scoring in the opening quarter. The first score of the game would come in the opening minute of the second quarter when the Blue Devils got one board with a 7-yard run by Luca Labella for the 7-0 lead. However, the Eagles would answer right back on their next drive with an 8-yard quarterback keeper as Porter Hunter would score to tie the game up at seven, and that's where they would stay for intermission. The Eagles would take their first lead of the game at 10-7 on a 31-yard field goal from Patrick Hagadorn at the 8:42 mark of the third quarter. The game would stay there till the 3:03 mark of the fourth quarter when Luca LaBella would find the endzone for the second time of the night from 2 yards out for the 14-10 Blue Devils end. The Eagles would have their chance down the stretch to get their lead back, but their effort would come up short, and the Blue Devils would get the 14-10 win. Saranac's River Poulin (30) splits the defenders for the big gain and the first down. It would be the battle of the Saranacs once again for the Section VII Class C Championship from the Beekmantown High School for the right to head to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament. The game would start with the Red Storm jumping out to a quick 13-0 lead, but the Spartans would come back with a couple of scores of their own as they would take the 14-13 lead into the locker room at the half. When the teams return for the second half, it will be a back-and-forth game, but neither team will be able to get any separation. The Spartans would score in the game's closing minute to take the 30-22 lead. The Red Storm would thunder down the head, and they would get the touchdown. Knowing that they needed the two to two tie the game, they would take their quarterback on the sweep, Zack Goet, but they would come up just short, and the Spartans would get the 30-28 victory. In the winning effort, the Spartans go to 3-6 on the season as they will head to section x next week for their state game. As for the Saranac Lake, Red Storm would end their season at 4-4. Gallery

Moriah's Cooper Allen (4) with the tough catch in traffic that gets them inside the 5-yard line on the drive. It would be the section vii class D championship football game from the Beekmantown High School, and it would feature the #1 Moriah Vikings and the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots, with the winner getting a spot in the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament quarterfinals on November 23rd. The game's opening score would be one rare variety as the Vikings would get a safety with five minutes left in the quarter and take the 2-0 lead. Then, with 4 minutes left in the quarter, we would have our first touchdown as they would hit Chase McGiness for the touchdown and take the 10-0 lead. The Patriots would come back and get on the board just 36 seconds into the second quarter on the 22-yard run by John Fletcher to make it a 10-6 game. The Vikings would answer right back at the 2:35 mark of the quarter on a 4-yard strike to Cooper Allen, and they would regain their double-digit lead at 17-6. The Patriots would not let that get them down as they would answer right back 90 seconds later on the Hayden Bombard 15-yard strike and be back within one score at 18-14. The Vikings would answer back with a 6-yard run by Jacob Mascarenas and take the 24-14 lead into the locker room. When the teams return for the second half, the Vikings will take control of the game as they got three more unanswered scores from Cooper Allen, Jacob Mascarenas, and Jaydin Hughes, securing the 43-14 victory. In the winning effort, the Moriah Vikings would go to 4-4 on the season and will play the section 1 team in the quarterfinals of the state tournament in two weeks. It would be the Section VII Class B Football championships from the Plattsburgh High School, and it would be the classic rivalry as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would take on their longtime rivals, the #2 Peru Nighthawks, for the title and the berth in the NYSPHSAA tournament. The game would start well for the Eagles as they would get on the board in the 7th minute of the first quarter when Patrick Hagadorn would hit the 34-yard field goal and give them the 3-0 lead. In the closing seconds of the first quarter, the Eagles would get the game's first touchdown on a 24-yard run from Shamus Bilbeau and take the 10-0 lead. Then, just past the halfway mark of the second quarter, the Eagles would connect on another field goal and take the 13-0 lead. However, during that drive, there would be a scary moment as the Eagles Quarterback Josh Sands would be tackled, have his lower leg, get rolled up on, and need to be stretched off the field. Then, with 11 seconds left in the half, the Eagles would strike again on Shamus Bilbeau's second game score, this time from 5 yards out, and take the 19-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would do their best to keep them in the game as the defense would step up, and there would be no scoring in the quarter, and the Eagles would hold onto the 19-0 lead as they entered the 4th quarter. In that fourth quarter, though, the Eagles would waste little time adding to their lead when Shamus Bilbeau would get his third game score, this time from 7 yards out, and they would take the 26-0 lead. Then, with just over two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with a touchdown from Parker Broughton and make it a 33-0 win. With the win, the Eagles go to 8-1 on the season and will head to the Nymphs tournament next weekend against Ogdensburg on November 15th at Plattsburgh High School. The Nighthawks would get the game's opening points halfway through the first quarter in an unusual way with a safety and take the 2-0 lead. The Nighthawks would then add a touchdown two minutes later from Elijah Hendricks on the 12-yard pass and take the 9-0 lead. The game would stay there till the six-minute mark of the second when Wyatt Bridges would score from 2 yards out to take a 16-0 lead. Then, with three minutes left in the half, the Hornets would get on the board with a two-yard run from Dan Hartman to make it a 16-6 game, and that's where we would enter the half. When we returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay on the pedal when Wyatt Bridges would get the 16-yard score 4 minutes in and extend their lead to 23-6. The Hornets would answer back with three minutes left in the third quarter when Jahvari Anderson would score on the 26-yard pass reception to make it a 23-12 game. The Nighthawks would answer back 30 seconds into the 4th quarter when Wyatt Bridges would score from 19 yards out and make it a 30-12 game. It would be the final of the season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference, and the Plattsburgh Hornets would travel to Saranac Lake and take on the Red Storm in what might be the final game ever played at the Wilson Raymon field as they are supposed to have a brand new turf field at the high school next season. The Hornets would get the lone score of the first quarter from Danny Hartman on 21 21-yard run to give the Hornets the 7-0 lead. The Red Storm would return and get on the board on a 3-yard run by Zac Goetz, making it a 7-6 game. The Hornets would answer back with 1:07 left in the half on a 16-yard strike to Dominic Deangelo and take the 13-6 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the offense on both sides would pick up as the Hornets would strike first on the 12-yard run by Danny Hartman and take the 19-6 lead at the 3:54 mark. The Red Storm would come back down the field and make it a 19-13 game at the 6:14 mark of the third quarter. The offense would stay hot for the Hornets as they would make it a 25-13 game at the 9:57 mark of the third quarter when they would hit Ryan Coulburn on the 79-yard pass and catch, and that's how the quarter would end. Then, just 39 seconds into the 4th quarter, the Hornets would score again on the Bryan Kemokai run to make it a 31-13 game. It would be week 7 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Ausable Valley Patriots on the Nighthawk's senior night. The Nighthawks would take the early lead in the game at 7-0 on the 4-yard rush by Chase Carpenter 2 minutes into the game. Then, to finish the quarter, the Nighthawks would add two rushing touchdowns to give them the 21-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks continued their success and added a pair of touchdowns from Chase Carpenter and Jake Frechette, who took the 34-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot and expand their lead to 41-0 on the Owen Smith 1-yard run. Then, three minutes later, the Eagles would strike again, this time on a Parker Broughton score from 14 yards out and take the 14-0 lead. Then, in the final minute of the quarter, Parker Broughton would score again, this time from 39 yards out, and take the 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The game would stay there till the 9:14 mark of the quarter when the Hornets would block the Spartan's punt attempt, and it would roll out the back of the endzone for the Hornet's safety, making it a 6-2 game. Then, in the final 30 seconds of the half, the Hornets would take the lead on a 29-yard strike to Braeden Calkins and take the 8-6 lead to the locker room. The Spartans would not go quietly and retake the lead at 14-8 on a 1-yard run by River Poulin to take the lead 14-8 at the 2:11 mark. The game would be tight throughout the first half. The Eagles would get the game's opening score on the Josh Sands 2-yard keeper at the 8:26 mark of the first quarter to take the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 4:25 mark of the second quarter when the Red Storm would get on the board with their quarterback keeper as Zack Goetz would score to make it a 7-6 game, and that's where the game would enter the half. Both teams would be looking to break through in the matchup when the teams returned for the second half. The Eagles would answer that bell on the 29-yard run by Parker Broughton to take the 14-6 lead at the 4:54 mark of the quarter. The game would start with upstart Hornets getting the first score of the game just 3:50 into the contest on the 12-yard strike to Braeden Calkins as the Hornets would take the early 8-0 lead. The Hornets wouldn't be done there, though, as they would take control of the game in the last 30 seconds of the first quarter when they would find Dominic Deangelo in the back of the end zone for a touchdown to give the Hornets a 16-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. There would be no scoring in the 2nd quarter, so the teams would head into the locker room at 16-0 Hornets, looking for the upset victory. When the teams return for the third quarter, it would be more of the same as there would be no scoring in the quarter, and the Hornets would take that two-score lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would take control of the game at the 4:00 mark on the quarterback sneak by Dan Hartman and take the 24-0 lead, and that's where the game would end. In the second quarter the Nighthawk offense would stay hot as they would have three more scores and Sawyer Schillt would add another score as they would have a 39-14 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the defenses would seem to find their footing. There would only be one score in the third quarter when Hornets Dan Hartman would scramble for the Hornets touchdown and make it a 39-22 game as they would enter the third quarter. In the fourth quarter the Nighthawks would add a pair of touchdowns to put the icing on the cake led by a Brody O'Connell sneak as the Nighthawks get the 54-22 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 1-1 on the season as they will have their home opener against the Beekmantown Eagles next Friday night. Beekmantown's Parker Broughton (33) stands up the Massena runner as he was taking it from the deep in the end zone and stopped before he could get going. It would be a nonsectional football action from the Beekmantown Sports Complex as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Massena Red Raiders in nonleague action. The scoring would start quickly for the Eagles as Shamus Bilbeau would score on a 23-yard run at the 3:30 mark of the first quarter to make it a 7-0 Eagles game. Then as time would expire in the first quarter Bilbeau would score again this time from 16 yards and make it 14-0 Eagles. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same as the Eagles would score twice on a 19-yard pass to Patrick Hagadorn in the back of the endzone along with a 5-yard run by Parker Broughton and they would take the 28-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles would pick up right where they left off as they would hit a 19-yard field goal and a 6-yard pass to Patrick Hagadorn for his second score of the game the Eagles would expand their lead to 38-0 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would add a pair of touchdowns from Blake Rock and George Ciolac as they would put the icing on a 52-0 win. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 2-1 on the season as they head into their big rival game next weekend against the Peru Nighthawks as the Massena Red Raiders fall to 0-3 on the season. Saranac's Branigan Boulds (10) watches the ball into the hands for the catch and big play for the Spartans. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. Still, it would be the first conference game for both teams as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Spartans as they were both looking to get their conference season going right off the back. The Eagles would control the ball for most of the first quarter and would get the opening score of the game at the 10:37 mark of the quarter on a 5-yard run by Parker Broughton for the 8-0 Eagles lead. The Eagles would waste little time getting the ball back and marching it down the field as Parker Broughton would score again this time on a 47-yard strike to give the Eagles the 15-0 lead just 1:25 into the second quarter. Then with just over three minutes left in the half, the Eagles would break the game open on a 93-yard pass and catch to Patrick Hagadorn for the 22-0 Eagles lead and that's where they would end the first half. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same as the Eagles would stay on the gas and extend the lead to 29-0 at the midway mark of the third period on the short run by Shamus Bibeau. The game would stay there till the 3:43 mark of the fourth quarter when Shamus Bibeau would score again on the short run to give the Eagles the 35-0 lead and victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 on the season as they will host the Massena Red Raiders next week in non-conference action. Granville/Whitehall's CJ Monty (35) with the stiff arm on Plattsburgh's Landon Ladue (4) as he battles for the first down and the extra yards. It would be the opening weekend of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Football season and it would see an intersectional matchup between the host Plattsburgh Hornets from Section VII and the visiting Granville/Whitehall Golden Horde from Section II from Plattsburgh High School. The game would start well for the visiting Golden Horde as they would take the 6-0 lead just 90 seconds into the game on a 2-yard run by the running back CJ Monty. They would answer again just over halfway through the quarter to extend their lead to 14-0 on their second running touchdown from CJ Monty. The Hornets would keep fighting and they would get on the board in the closing minutes of the second quarter when they would connect with Braeden Calkins for the touchdown reception making it a 14-6 game as they ended the first half. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be the tale of two halves as the rain would start to fall on the game and slow down the offense. The Golden Horde would be able to get through the raindrops, get a score, and make it a 20-6 game as they would enter the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Golden Horde would be able to catch their footing in the weather as they added two more touchdowns as they would secure the 34-6 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Horde would start their season off 1-0 as they enter section II play against Warrensburg/Lake George. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 0-1 as they will take on the Ausable Valley Patriots who will both be looking to get their first win of the season. Gallery
