The Beekmantown Eagles celebrate their hard-fought victory to stay atop the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference standings. It would be standing room only at the Amer-can North Sports Complex tonight as it would be a match-up of a pair of teams ranked inside the top 15 in the state as the #14 Saranac Chiefs Chiefs coming in on 6 games winning streak hosting the #2 Beekmantown Eagles that came in unbeaten on the season. It would take till the 6-minute mark of the first period before we had our first goal between these two high-spirited teams when Sam Bingel would light the lamp twice in that minute to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead. Then at the 9:25 mark of the period the Chiefs would get on the board when Evan Patrie would hit the rebound goal to make it a 2-1 game. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Keegan Seemone would score thirty seconds later to make it a two-goal lead again for the Eagles. The Chiefs would not end out the period strong as Landen Duprey would score twice to end the period and the teams would go into the locker room tied at three. The Chiefs would keep the train moving as they would score just 3:36 into the second period to give them their first lead of the game at 4-3 on the Nolan Miner goal. Then at about the midway mark of the period, Zach O'Connell will score to give the Chiefs the 5-3 lead. The game would stay there til the 14-minute mark of the period when Sam Bingel (hat trick) and Zach Lapier would score to tie the game at five as they went into the second intermission. When the teams returned for the third period the Eagles would be riding their excitement as they would take the 6-5 lead at the 5:36 mark of the period on Sam Bingel's 4th goal of the night. Then with under 90 seconds left in the game, he would strike again for the 7-5, and the Eagles would add an empty netter to secure the 8-5 win. In the winning effort, Austin Doser would make 27 saves as they go to 9-0-1 on the season and the Chiefs fall to 7-2-2 on the season as Joey Mitchell had 25 saves on the night. The Beekmantown Eagles would celebrate as they get the game-winner and stay perfect on the season. It would be a non-league game as the Beekmantown Eagles would host from Section X the Potsdam Sandstoners as both teams were looking to get the 2023 portion of the season started the right way. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get on the board at about the five minutes of the first period on the Zach Lapier goal. The lead would only last about five minutes as the Sandstoners would tie the game at one. The game would stay there til there the 12:00 mark of the period when Sam Bingel would score to make it a 2-1 Eagles lead. The lead would be short-lived as the Sandstoners would tie the game at two. The Sandstoners would start off the second period hot as they would score three goals in the first two minutes and take a 5-2 lead. Then just 19 seconds later the Eagles would slow rush as they would get their own goal from Zach Lapier for his second of the game and make it a 5-3 game. Then at the 5:16 mark of the period, the Eagles would make it a one-goal game on the power play goal at 5-4. Then with under two minutes left in the period, the Sandstoners would regain their two-goal lead at 6-4. Then at the 7:48 mark of the third period, Cooper Burdo would score to make it a one-goal game again at 6-5. Then with 6:30 minutes left in the game, the Eagles would come all the way back and tie the game on Zach Lapier's third goal of the game. The game would head to overtime and in that period Keegan Seamone would score 1:44 into the overtime and get the 7-6 win. Beekmantown's Keegan Rodier (15) puts the puck in the back of the net on the breakaway for one of his two goals on the afternoon. The Beekmantown Eagles would be back in action as they would host the Grand Island Vikings from western New York in nonleague action. The Eagles would stay hot from the previous weekend. It wouldn't take long for the Eagles to get on the board, just 3:34, on a goal by Sam Bingel for the first period's lone goal. The Eagles would strike again just five minutes into the second period on a goal by Reagan Dudyak. Then, in the closing minutes of the period, the Eagles would take control of the game on Sam Bingel's second goal and give the Eagles the 3-0 lead. Then, just over a minute into the third period, the Eagles would strike again with Luke Moser's goal. Then the Eagles would finish scoring, and Keegan Rodier would score twice to close out the period and give them the 6-0 lead. Then, with four minutes left in the game, the Vikings would get on the board on Jamie Wright's goal to avoid the shutout and have a 6-1 final. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 3-0 on the season and be back in action the next day against the Kenmore East Bulldogs. Gallery

Beekmantown's Wyatt LaBorde (11) with the tight full-court defense on Plattsburgh's Max Filosca (5) as he goes for the strip to keep the pressure on. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on crosstown rival the Beekmantown Eagles to get the home portion of their 2022-23 season underway and would like to right the ship as they lose the first couple on the road to start the season as for the Eagles they would come in 1-0. The game would start off tight as the Eagles would have a slim 16-12 lead after the game's first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight and the Hornets would fight to stay in the game as the Eagles would win the quarter 16-14 and take a 32-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles came out firing and it looked like the Hornets were having issues getting the game going again as the Eagles would win the third 20-12 and take the 52-38 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would stay on the gas and win the quarter 16-9 to secure the 68-47 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles will go to 2-0 while the Hornets fall to 0-3 and both teams are back in action next week. Gallery

Beekmantown's Sam Bingel (11) with the goal squeaks past the line as part of a two-goal game. The Beekmantown Eagles would look to continue their hot start with another home contest against the Lasalle Cadets in nonconference action. The Eagles would get off to a fast start as they would get two goals in the opening period and take the 2-0 lead. When the second period came around, they would continue their hot hand as they added another two goals, both coming from Sam Bingel to take the 4-0 lead into the third period. In the third period, the Eagles would not let up having the big lead headed in as they would get three more goals two coming from Zack LaPier and one from Louis Sweenor to secure the 7-0 win for the Eagles. With the win, the Eagles go to 2-0 on the season and are yet to give up a goal after two shutout victories. Gallery

The Peru Nighthawks are crowned the 2022 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B champions with a 41-8 victory over the Beekmantown Eagles. It would be the classic rivalry inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B as the #1 Peru Nighthawks would meet up with the #2 Beekmantown Eagles as they decide who heads to the New York State Class B Football tournament and take on the upset minded Massena Red Raiders, The Nighthawks would get the scoring going in the first quarter with a 9 yard run by Jack Hanson for the 7-0 lead. Later in the quarter the Nighthawks and Jack Hanson would score again this time from 30 yards and take the 14-0 lead. They would end the quarter with there third score of the quarter this time to Keith Parent from 32 yards out and have a 21-0 lead to end the quarter. In the second quarter the Nighthawks would get another score this time a 17 yard pass to Jack Hanson for his third score of the game. When the teams came back from the locker rooms for the third quarter the Nighthawks would stay on the gas and expand there lead to 34-0 on Jack Hanson's four touchdown of the night. In the fourth quarter the Nighthawks would put the final nail in the coffin on the game as Jack Hanson would get his fifth score of the game this time from 3 yards out for the 41-0 lead. In the final minutes of the game the Eagles would get on the board to avoid the shutout on a 12 yard run by Louis Sweenor and they would get the 2 point conversion to make it a 41-8 game. That would end the game and the Peru Nighthawks would be get the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B 2022 title. With the win the Nighthawks continue there undefeated season at 9-0 while the Beekmantown Eagles season will come to a close at 5-4. Gallery
