New York State High School Boy's Hockey: Lasalle Cadets @ Beekmantown Eagles December 5th 2025

Beekmantown's Jack Bell (31) comes out the night and challenges the shooter for the save the night on La Salle's Sam Branson (8). It would be the night of the 2025-26 NYSHPHSAA Boys' Hockey season, and it would see the La Salle Cadets travel up from the capital region to take on the Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh State Field House, as both teams would be looking to start their season off with a win. The first period would see both teams going through the motions as they tried to figure each other out, since there would be no scoring. In the second period, the intensity of both teams would pick up as they were looking for that opening goal, but there would be more time than anything with them a man down, then anything, as neither team would once again find the net, and they would remain tied at zero. In the third period, both teams would have their best scoring chances of the nig, ht but they still couldn't find the net, and the game would stay tied at zero. With the game tied at 0, they would head to five-minute overtime to decide a winner. Still, neither team could turn on the red light. As the BeeAsntown Eagles would start their season at 0-0-1, aack Bell would make 26 saves in the shutout, and they will be back at it tomorrow as they take on the Nisyuankain in search of that first win. As for the La Salle Caets, Alaina Winther would make 33 saves for the shutout, as they will also look for that first win as they finish off their road trip tomorrow against the Plattsburgh Hornets. Beekmantown's Carter Lapier (16) had one of the best scoring chances of the night during overtime, as the game would finish 0-0. Applebee's Winter Classic Day Semi-Finals: Storm Hockey @ Beekmantown Eagles High School Boys Hockey December 20th 2024

Beekmantown's Parker Broughton (11) with the shot from the circle on the net over the defender as the Eagles get the 9-3 win. It would be the opening game of the 2024 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse, and it would feature the Guilderland Storm from Section II and Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. The game would start great for the Eagles as they would light the lamp five times in the opening period from Jacoby Weeden, Mason Carter (twice), Evan Bruyere, and Pryce Parker. When the teams returned for the second period, it would be more of the same for the Eagles as they would add another three goals from Novak Jarus, Jackson Deyo, and Edward Sweenor for the 8-0 Eagles lead. In the third period, they would finish off their scoring on Novak Jarus's second of the night. The Storm would answer back their way with three goals in the period, but it would not be enough as the Eagles would get the 9-3 win and head to the finals against the Rye Garnet. Applebee's Winter Classic Semi-Finals: Guilderland Storm @ Beekmantown Eagles December 20th, 2024
Beekmantown's Novak Jarus (9) beats the Storm goalie and puts the puck in the center of the net for the score as the Eagles get the 9-3 win. It would be the opening game of the 2024 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse, and it would feature the Guilderland Storm from Section II and Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple (72( watches the puck in the chest for one of his 30-plus saves on the night on the shoot from La Salle's Ben Mannis (14). It would be the opening night of the High School Hockey season, and see the Plattsburgh Hornets host the Lasalle Cadets from Section 2 from the Ameri-can North Arena. The game would start well for the road Cadets as they would get the game's opening goal in the first five minutes of the contest. The Hornets would keep coming and tie the game up at one at the 8:19 mark of the first period when Colby Chase would get his first goal. The game would not stay tied very long cause at the 10:46 mark of the period, just two minutes later, the Hornets would take the 2-1 lead on the Lucas Dashnaw power-play goal to give the Hornets the 2-1 lead, and that's where the first period ended. There would be no scoring in the second period of the game, but both teams would have their chances to take the lead; they just couldn't put it away. When the teams head to the third period, the Cadets do not waste time tying the game up, as they get the equalizer from Michael Nocera at 4:53. The rest of the period and overtime would go by without the teams finding the net again and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. Both goalies would be on point for the opener as Carter Irving for the Cadets and Owen Chapple for the Hornets would have over 30 saves on the net as both teams start the season 0-0-1. The Cadets are back in action on Saturday as they will take on the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Hornets, they will be back in action Saturday against Niskayuna Hawks. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Lucas Dashnaw (27) stuffs the rebound between the legs of La Salle's Carter Irving (31) for the go-ahead goal. It would be the opening night of the High School Hockey season and it would see the Plattsburgh Hornets host the Lasalle Cadets from Section 2 from the Ameri-can North Arena. The game would start well for the road Cadets as they would get the opening goal of the game in the first five minutes of the contest. Applebee's Winter Classic Championship: #11 Rye Garnet @ Beekmantown Eagles High School Boys Hockey December 23rd 2023

Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) slides it past the goalie for the score. It would be the championship game of the latest edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic and it would feature the #11 Rye Garnets and the host Beekmantown Eagles. The host Eagles would get off to a good start as they would score just 2:4 into the game on the Edward Sweenor goal. Then just under two minutes later the Eagles score again this time from Sam Bingel putting him just 1 point away from 100 points in his career. Then with 3:38 left in the first period, the Eagles would score again as Edward Sweenor would get his second of the game for the 3-0 Eagles lead. In the early moments of the second period, the Garnets would get on the board to make it a two-goal game on the Ryan Draddy goal. Then at the 5:02 mark of the second period the Eagles would get a goal lead back at 4-1 on the Zack Lapier goal but Sam Bingel would get the assist to secure his 100th career point. The Eagles would start to put the icing on the cake just 55 seconds after the Louis Swennor goal to give the Eagles the 4-1 lead. Then with three minutes left in the game freshmen Edward Sweenor would finish off his hat trick and give the host Eagles the upset 6-1 win and the Winter Classic title. Gallery.

Applebee's Winter Classic Day 1: Rye Garnet Vs Northeastern Clinton Cougars High School Boys Hockey December 22nd 2023

A pair of Northeastern Clinton players Caeson Gacreau (5) and Winnie Simpson (18) sandwich the Storm skater between them and break up the play. It would be the consolation game of the Appebee's Winter Classic and would feature the Guilderland Storm and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. In the opening period the teams would combine for 5 goals and the Storm would have a 3-2 lead. The three for the Storm would come from Keegan McGovern and Klaidi Ginghi while scoring for the Cougars would be Scott Wryre and Owen Ebersole. In the second period, the Storm would add another two goals from Quinn Rice while the Cougars would add one more from Winnie Simpson as the Storm would take a 5-3 lead into the third period. In that third period, the teams would combine for 8 goals. The Storm would have a pair of goals in the period from Quinn Rice and Joe Kosier. While the Cougars would get 6 goals in the period including a span in the period where the Cougars would score 4 goals in 3:12 scoring in the period would be Owen Ebersole (twice), Winnie Simpson (three), and Garrett Pilon as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars would get the 9-7 win. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars return to action on December 30th as they host out of Rice Memorial Green Knights. Gallery
