It would be Championship Sunday from Buffalo as it would be an all–Section I NYSPHSAA Boys Hockey Championship, with the #2 Byram Hills Bobcats facing off against the #3 Rye Garnets. The Bobcats opened the scoring at the 4:51 mark of the first period on a goal from Christian Cipriano. The Garnets answered back at 8:14 when Jamie Morris scored to tie the game at one. Just over two minutes later, the Garnets took a 2–1 lead on a goal by Ryan Draddy. Then, with 55 seconds left in the first period, the Garnets extended their lead to 3–1 on a goal from Colin Nigro, and that’s how the period would end. In the second period, Will Weinman scored at the 12:05 mark to make it a 4–1 Garnets lead on the lone goal of the frame. In the third period, the Garnets put the icing on the cake with Ryan Draddy’s second goal of the game at the 12:43 mark for a 5–1 advantage. In the winning effort for the Garnets, Fernando Mosquera made 17 saves as they captured the state title. As for the Bobcats, Lucas Guggenheimer was impressive in his own right, making 63 saves. Sufferns Kevin Windwer (4) with the top shelfer to tie the game at two in the second period. It was Championship Sunday at the LECOM Harbor Center as all roads led to Buffalo, where the #4 Suffern Mounties from Section I took on the #7 Canton Golden Bears from Section X, with both teams looking to go home with the title. The upset‑minded Golden Bears opened the scoring just 1:58 into the game on a goal from Caleb Briggs for a 1–0 lead. The Mounties answered back 90 seconds later on a goal by Matthew Norum to tie the game at one. At the 11:47 mark of the first period, the Golden Bears regained the lead, 2–1, on a goal from Owen Logan, and that’s how the first period ended. At the 14:17 mark of the second period, Kevin Windwer scored to tie the game, and the period ended knotted at two. The game remained tied until the 14:47 mark of the third period, when Sean Tyrell made his presence known by giving the Mounties a 3–2 lead. In the closing minutes, the Mounties added a pair of empty‑net goals from Sean Tyrell and Anthony Ruggiero as they secured their 4th state title in the last five years. In the winning effort for the Mounties, Tyler Grossman made 25 saves, while Canton’s Gavin Schryver stopped 30 shots on the afternoon. Gallery.

NYSPHSAA Division II Boy's Hockey Semi Finals: #1 Clarence Red Devils Vs #3 Rye Garnets March 14th 2026

Clarence's Taylor Regian (7) scored the goal on the rebound right in front to give the Red Devils a 2-1 lead in the second period. It was the final game of four on the day at the LECOM Harborcenter, as the #1 Clarence Red Devils from Section VI met the #3 Rye Garnets from Section I in the second semifinal of the NYSPHSAA Division II Boys’ Hockey Championships. The upset‑minded Garnets opened the scoring at the 8:26 mark of the first period when Finn Draddy found the net, and that would be the lone goal of the opening frame. The Red Devils came out strong in the second period, tying the game just 1:32 in on a power‑play goal from Jeremy Drugi. Clarence kept the pressure on and took a 2–1 lead three minutes later when Taylor Regian scored, and that was how the second period ended. The score remained 2–1 until the 14:38 mark of the third period, when Will Weinman scored on the power play to force the game into overtime. In the extra session, Jack McGill completed the upset for the Garnets, sending the #1 team in the state home and setting up an all–Section I final, where they would face the Byram Hills Bobcats on championship Sunday. Beekmantown's Mason Carter (12) wrist it by the Byram Hills netminder to make it 2-0 Eagles game at the time, but they would eventually fall 5-2. It would be the first of two semifinals in the NYSPHSAA Division II Boys' Hockey Championships, featuring the #2 Bryam Hills Bobcats from Section I and the #4 Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. The Eagles would jump out to a 1-0 lead just 3:03 into the game on a Pryce Parker goal. The Eagles would keep it going and make it a 2-0 game on the Mason Carter goal at the 8:50 mark of the first period. The Bobcats would answer right back, though, and make it a 2-1 game 49 seconds later on the Andrey Pytel goal, and that's how the first period would come to an end. The game would stay there until the 14:23 mark of the second period, when the Bobcats would tie the game at two on an Andrew Tymus goal, the lone goal of the second period. The Bobcats would get their first lead of the game at the 8:58 mark of the third period on Kai Licznerski's power play goal to make it a 3-2 game. It would be the second semi-final of the NYSPHSAA Division I Boys' Hockey Championships at LECOM Harbor Center, featuring the #3 West Genesee Wildcats from Section III and the #7 Canton Golden Bears from Section X, with the winner facing the #4 Suffern Mounties for the title tomorrow. The Wildcats would get the opening goal of the game at the 10:17 mark from Matthew Schneid for the 1-0 lead. The Golden Bears would answer back in the last minute of the period, with Caleb Briggs tying the game at one as the first period ended. The Golden Bears would come out on fire in the second period and take the lead 3:35 in on an Owen Logan goal, making it 2-1. The Wildcats would answer right back 37 seconds later on the Sammy Vormwald goal, making it 2-2. The game would stay there through the third period, with no scoring, and they would need overtime to decide the last spot in the championship. It wouldn't take long, though, as Owen Logan would score just 54 seconds in as the Golden Bears secure the 3-2 victory and their spot in the finals tomorrow. Pittsford's Evan Weiner (57) with rebound goal to make it a 3-1 game in the second period. It would be the opening game of the 2026 NYSPHSAA Boys' Hockey Championship at the LECOM Harbor Center, and it would feature the #4 Suffern Mounties from Section I and the #5 Pittsford Panthers from Section V in the Semi-Finals of Division 1. The Mounties would strike first in the opening minutes from Sean Tyrell for the 1-0 lead. The Mounties would strike again in the last minute of the first period from Sean Tyrell again to give them the 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. The game would stay there till the 11th minute of the second period when Sean Tyrell would score again to complete the hat trick and take the 3-0 lead. The Panthers would have an answer right back, though, when Evan Weiner would score on the rebound to make it a 3-1 game. The Mounties would answer right back when Sean Tyrell would get his 4th goal of the game a minute later to make it a 4-1 game. The Panthers answer again with 34 seconds left in the second when Casey Reagan stuffs it away in the top corner for the 3-2 game. With five minutes left in the game, the Mounties and Panthers would trade goals with Sean Tyrell getting his 4th of the game for the Mounties while David Pollard would score for the Panthers and make it a 4-3 game. The Mounties would add the empty netter down the stretch and secure the 5-3 victory and a spot in tomorrow's NYSPHSAA Division 1 Boys' Hockey Championship. Gallery

It would be the NYSPHSAA Boys' Hockey Division II North Regional final from the Ronald B Stafford Arena with 1400 fans in attendance as the #2 Malone Huskies from Section X would travel to take on the #11 Beekmantown Eagles from Section with the winner headed to the final four next weekend at the LeCeom Harbor Center in Buffalo for the championship weekend. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at the 13:49 mark of the first period, when Jackson Deyo would make it 1-0. Then just 59 seconds later, the Eagles would strike again, this time from Edward Sweenor, to make it a 2-0 Eagles lead at the end of the first period. The Huskies would have a quick answer in the second period, just 1:43 in on the Jonathan Scaef marker to make it a one-goal game at 2-1. The Eagles would have an answer, though, at the 12:32 mark of the period when Jackson Deyo would strike for his second goal of the game and regain the two-goal lead at 3-1, and that's how the period would end. In the third period, both teams would have their chances, but it would take until the 15:57 mark for Jake Kaska to score on the extra attacker, tying the game at 3-3 down the stretch. The Huskies would have their chances in the last minute to tie the game, but they couldn't find the back of the net to tie the game, and the Eagles would hold on for the 3-2 win. In the winning effort, Jack Bell would make 27 saves as they go to 15-6-2 on the season and head to the final four against Bryham Hill on March 14th. It would be an interstate matchup at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the Beekmatown Eagles would host the Bellows Free Academy from Vermont on their senior night and the next-to-last game of their regular season. Bellows Free Academy would get the quick lead in the game, just 2:50 in on the William Schrienderfer goal. The game would stay there till the 8:39 mark of the period when the Eagles would tie the game up at one on the Evan Bruyette power-play goal on the wrister from just inside the blue line. The Bobwhites would strike again, though, with just 11 seconds left in the period, on William Schriendorfer's second goal of the game for the 2-1 lead at the first. The Eagles would quickly respond in the second period, just 43 seconds in, when Edward Sweenor would tie the game at two, and that would be the lone goal of the middle period. The Bowhites would regain the one-goal lead at 3-2 at the 9:25 mark of the period when Brody Tatro would score. The Eagles would keep fighting, and with just 1:42 left in the game, Edward Sweenor would strike again for his second of the game, tying the game at three, and that's where regulation would end. They would then play a five-minute overtime. Both teams would have their chances to get the game winner, but the goalies were up to the task, and the game would end tied at three. Jack Bell for the Eagles would make 31 saves on the night as they go to 11-6-2 on the season as they head into the regular season finale against the Saranac Spartans Saturday night. It would be the battle of the top two teams in Section VII Boys' Hockey as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers, with the winners taking over first place in the standings as they come down the stretch. The Eagles would take the 1-0 lead just 6:18 into the game when Pryce Parker would find the back of the net. There would be 2:45 left in the first period, and a hit would send an Eagle into the glass, shattering it and delaying the game for around 45 minutes. The teams would come back, finish the period, and play the second period, with no scoring, as both teams had their chances but couldn't light the lamp. The game would enter the third period when the Eagles would extend their lead to 2-0 at the 12:45 mark on Pryce Parker's second of the night. Then, just over two minutes later, the Eagles would extend the lead to 3-0. The Lakers would get on the board in a span of 36 seconds from Braden Harvey and Ayden McCormick to make it a 3-2 game in the final minute, but the Eagles would add the empty netter from Pryce Parker to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort, Jake Bell made 20 saves as the Eagles went to 8-6-1 on the season. Stafford Ice Arena, as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Plattsburgh Hornets, with around 1,000 fans in attendance, all there for a good cause and hockey. The Eagles would waste little time in getting the opening goal of the game. Pryce Parker would knock a rebound past Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple for the 1-0 Eagles lead. The game would stay there all the way to the 3:13 mark of the 2nd period when Sam Bezio for the Hornets would beat Jack Bell and tie the game at one. From there, the teams would go back and forth for the next two periods, with both teams having their chance to score the go-ahead goal. Still, they couldn't get it online. The game would end in overtime, and in that overtime, Beekmantown's Pryce Parker would beat Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple with a goal on the short side as there were just five seconds on the clock. In the Eagles' effort, Jack Bell made 25 saves as they improved to 6-6-1 on the season, heading to Champlain on Tuesday to take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, Owen Chapple would make 56 saves as they fall to 7-5-2 as they head into their game against Saranac Lake/Lake Placid. Gallery
