The Bolton Eagles are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class D champions with a 60-49 victory over the Wells Wildcats. It would be the last boys' championship to be settled on the weekend as the #1 Bolton Eagles would meet up with the #2 Wells Wildcats for the Section VII Class D Finals from the Clinton Community College Florence Gym. The Eagles would fly out of the locker room to start the game, with a 17-9 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the tables would turn. The Wildcat offense would get hot and have a 21-10 quarter and take the 30-27 lead at the intermissio Once again though the Eagles would come out of thelocker roomm hot with a 19-11 quarter and take the 46-41 lead into the fourt In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would put the Wildcats to rest with a 12-8 quarter and secure the 60-49 victory and punch their ticket to the New York State Class D Tournament with a 21-point effort from Jaxon Egloff as for the Wells Wildcats there season will come to end as Chase Brooks would have 24 points. The Schroon Lake Wildcats are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class D champions with their 45-27 victory over the Bolton Eagles. It would be the second game of the Saturday portion of championship weekend for Section VII from Clinton Community College, Florence Gym, as the #1 Bolton Eagles would meet the #2 Schroon Lake Wildcats in a battle for their spot in the New York State Class D Tournament. It would be defense that would be the name of the game through the first quarter, as the Wildcats would have the slim 7-6 lead. In the second quarter, it would stay tight, but the Wildcats would build on their lead with a 14-10 quarter and take a 21-16 lead into the intermission. When the teams came out for the third quarter, the Wildcats had their offense on fire, scoring 15-4 as they cruised to a 36-20 lead and went to the fourth. With the big lead, the Wildcats would clinch down and play defense as they would have a 9-7 quarter to secure the 45-27 victory. In the winning effort, the Schroon Lake Wildcats punched their ticket behind Olivia Hartwell's 331-point game. #1 Saranac Spartans Vs #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars February 28th 2026

The Saranac Spartans are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class B Champions, defeating Northeastern Clinton 38-36. It would be the start of the second day of action at the Clinton Community College Florence Gym, as the #1 Saranac Spartans would take on the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars for the right to advance to the New York State Class B Tournament. Defense would be the name of the game, as the Cougars would start at just 6-2 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offense would come alive on both sides, as the Spartans won the quarter 13-12 but trailed 18-15 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be another low-scoring affair, as the Spartans won the quarter 11-9, and the Cougars took the slim 27-26 lead into the final 8 minutes. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would let their defense stand strong as they would come back and win the quarter 12-9 to get the 38-36 victory In the winning effort for the Spartans Madison Gaginer would have 18 points as they advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season would come to end as Grace Praire would have ten points. The Saranac Lake Red Storm are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class B Champions with their 78-73 overtime victory. It would be the last game of the opening day of the Section VII Championship weekend as the #1 Saranac Spartans would meet up with the #2 Saranac Lake Red Storm for the Boys' Basketball Class C Championship. It would be a tight, high-scoringgame to get it started as the Red Storm would have ta19-17 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game would stay close, but the Red Storm would extend their lead by 1 with a 13-12 quarter and take the 32-29 lead at intermission. When the teams returned for the second quarte,r the Spartans would bringtheire offense with a 22-13 quarter and take the 51-45 lead into the fourth quarter/ Although in the fourth quarte,r the Red Storm would battle back witha 23-17 quarter and force overtime as they would be tied at 68 In the overtime the Red Storm would take control with a 10-5 quarter and secure the 78-73 victory, In the winning effort for the Red Storm Alius Martele would lead the way as they earn there spot in the New York State Class B Tournament as for the Saranac Spartans Carson Duffield would lead the way with 27 points as there season would come to end. The Northern Adirondack Bobcats are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class C Champions for the first time since 2015 with the 60-41 victory. It would be the second game of championship weekend at the Clinton Community College Florence Gym, as the #1 Moriah Vikings would be going for their seventh straight championship against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats, who were going for their first title since 2015. It would be a defensive battle to start the game, as the Bobcats would have a low-scoring lead at 6-4 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, both teams' offenses came alive, with Moriah winning the quarter 16-14 and the game tied at 20. When the teams returned for the second haf,th e Bobcats would com e out running, scoring 22-8 in the quarter and taking a 42-28 lead into the fourth quarter In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as it would be a 14-13 Bobcats quarter as they secure the 60-41 victory In the winning effort, the Bobcats' Emmett Leclair would lead the way with 32 points as they advance to the New York State Class C Tournamen As for the Viking, theire titlereignn comes toa d at 6 years in a row as Joey Kazio would have 12 points. The Peru Nighthawks are crowned the 2026 Section VII Class A Champions with a 52-45 victory over the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would be the first game of the championship weekend from the Florence Gym at Clinton Community College as the #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up for the Section VII Class A Championship. The upset-minded Hornets would start well, doubling up the Nighhawks in the first quarter with a 1- 4-7 quarter. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would have answered, as they would take the quarter 18-6 and hold a 25-20 lead at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Hornets would answer back, scoring 15-9 and taking a 35-34 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would have the answer and put the finishing touches on the Hornets with aan18-7 quarter. In the winning effort for the Nighthawks, a trio would lead the way with 11 points: Eli Ledwith, Cogan St. Denis, and Mouhamadou Diatt, as they advance to the New York State Class A Tournament. #4 Saranac Spartans @ #1 Beekmantown Eagles February 26th 2026

Beeekmantown's Edward Sweenor (55) with the goal he slides by Saranac's Max Croyer (31) for the second goal of the night as they get the 7-2 win. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Division II Boys' Hockey playoffs at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena, and it would see a rematch of last year's finals as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #4 Saranac Spartans. The Eagles would waste little time jumping out to a lead, scoring two goals in the first 3:35 of the game from Edward Sweenor and Mason Carter, taking a 2-0 lead. The Spartans would get on the board at the 13:18 mark of the period on Gabe Moore's goal, and that's how the period would end, 2-1. The Eagles would be able to extend their lead to 3-1 at the 8:08 mark of the period on the Ivan Roy goal, and that would be the lone goal of the period at 3-1 Eagles as they enter the third. The Eagles would strike for three goals in the first 1:49 of the period from Mason Carter (second of the night), Pryce Parker, and Edward Sweenor (second of the night). TheSpartans would also add one in that stretch from Adrian Barnes to make it 6-2. The Eagles would finish off the game at the 10:31 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would complete his hat trick and give the Eagles the 7-2 win, advancingto another finals on Monday night. In the winning effort for the Eagles, Jack Bell would make 25 saves as they went to 13-6-2 on the season. As for the Spartans, Max Coryer would make 21 saves as their season came to a close at 8-14. Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple (72) makes the save on Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Ayden McMormick, with 21 saves on the night. It would be the Section VII Division II Boys' Hockey semifinals, as the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #3 Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers at the AC North Arena, with the winner advancing to Monday's championship game. It would take until the 15:28 mark of the first period for the first goal of the game, when Eli McCormick would light the lamp for the Lakers and take a 1-0 lead, and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Lakers would extend their lead to 2-0 at 6:50 when Ayden McCormick would get the goal. The Hornets would answer right back 38 seconds later when Sam Bezio would get the Hornets on the board and make it a 2-1 game. The Hornets would not be done there, as they would tie the game at two on Cooper Holland's goal. The Lakers would come back and retake the lead about two minutes later at the 10:32 mark of the period on Eli McCormick's second goal of the game. The Hornets would tie the game again with 4:32 left in the period when Sam Bezio would get the second goal of the game, and the second period would end tied at two. The Hornets would get their first lead of the game at the 9:05 mark of the third period when Cooper Holland would get his second of the game, and from there the Hornets' defense would be up to the challenge as they secured the 4-3 victory. In the winning effort for the Hornets, Owen Chapple would make 21 saves as they entered the finals at 13-5-2. As for the Lakes, their season would end at 8-111, as Scottie Nicholas would make 37 saves. Gallery.

Skidmore's Tommy Aikens (29) with the stick save as part of a 35 save effort in a 4-3 Skidmore win over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. It would be the start of the SUNYAC Men's Hockey playoffs. It would see the #6 Plattsburgh State Cardinals travel to Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Springs Ice Rinks for their quarterfinal matchup with the Skidmore Thoroughbreds in front of 700 fans. The game would remain tied until the 16:549 ark of the 1st period when Tyler Chenevert would light the lamp for Skidmore and take the 1-0 lead after the 1st period. The second period would start well for Skidmore as they quickly jumped to ta2-0 lead on the Coleman Jenkins goal. The Cardinals would answer right back just over a minute later on the Brannon Butler goal to make it a 2-1 game. The Thoroughbreds would come back and regain the two-goal lead at 3-1 on Shane Baker's goal at the 7:50 mark of the second period. Then, with just under five minutes left in the period, Skidmore would extend the lead to 4-1 on Cooper Rice's goal, and that's where the period would end. The Cardinals would keep coming in the third period and make a 4-2 game at the 12:03 mark on the Spencer Bellina goal. The Cardinals would get a goal in the closing seconds of the game from Jake Sacratini, rotoake it a 4-3 final, as the Skidmore Thoroughbreds advance to the Semi-finals. In the winning effort, the Thoroughbreds' Tommy Aikens made 35 saves as they went to 15-9-2. As for the Cardinals, Brady Spry would make 34 saves as they finished their season at 13-13. Gallery

#5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ #4 Saranac Spartans February 24th 2026

Saranac's Max Coryer (31) with the pad save on Northeastern Clinton's Cobe LaFountain (5) as part of a 31-save night in the 5-1 win. It would be the opening game of the 2026 Section VII Division 2 Boys' Hockey tournament, and it would feature the #4 Saranac Spartans hosting the #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars from the AC North Arena, with the winner playing the #1 Beekmantown Eagles in the semi-finals two days later. The Spartans would get the first two goals of the game, 15 seconds apart at the 9:20 mark of the first period, when Noah Barton and Robbie Squier would score for the 2-0 lead. The Cougars would answer back at the 11:22 mark of the period and cut the deficit to 1 on the Scott Wrye goal to make it 2-1. The game would stay there until the 12:34 mark of the second period, when Killian Baker would score to make it a 3-1 game and regain their two-goal advantage. The Spartans would strike again 16 seconds later when Noah Barton would light the lamp for the second time on the night, giving them a 4-1 lead, and that's where the second period would end. In the third period, the Spartans would add one more at the 8:46 mark from Adrian Barnes as they secured the 5-1 victory. In the Spartans' winning effort, Max Coryer made 31 saves as they improved to 8-13 on the season and head to the semi-finals against the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they would combine for 23 saves as their season ended at 3-17-1. Gallery.
