Northern Adirondack Conference Girl's Basketball #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Salmon River Shamrocks January 9 2013

Chateaugay's Courtney Boyea (15) scrambles foe the loose ball at the top of the arc and gets it before Salmon River's Abby Kelly (5) can get it. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Salmon River Shamrocks in section ten action. The game would get very physical at times as both teams would be on edge with the rivalry. The game would be tied at nine after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would win it by the slightest margin 12-10 and take a 21-19 lead into the break. As the teams would come out for the second half the Shamrocks would win the third quarter 16-12 and have the 35-33 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Shamrocks would pull away as they would win the quarter 17-9 and get the 52-43 victory. In the losing effort Courtney Boyea would lead the Bulldogs with 17 points as the Bulldogs fall to 6-1 on the season. Gallery

ECAC West Women's Hockey: #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #5 Norwich Cadets January 6 2013

Plattsburgh State's Jordan Caldwell (27) battles for the loose puck in the crease. It would be a match up of two of the top 5 teams in the nation. As the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #5 Norwich Cadets in non-conference action. The Cadets would take the early lead on Kayla Parson's power play goal at 5:46 of the first period. That is where the game would remain until the 10 minute mark of the second periods when the Cadets would connect on Tori Charron goal to make it 2-0 Cadets. Then with just 11 seconds remaining in the 2nd periods the Cardinals would get on the board with Shannon Stewarts power play goal. Then just a minute and half into the third period the Cardinals would tie it up on Teal Groves goal to make it 2-2. Then in the 13th minute of the third the Cardinals would take the lead on Ali Vakos goal to make it 3-2. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would strike again on Mia Favretto's goal to close out the Cadets and take the 4-2 win. In the winning effort Sydney Aveson would stop 14 of 16 shots. As the Cardinals remain undefeated at 11-0-1. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey Beekmantown Eagles Vs Guilderland Dutchmen January 5 2013

Beekmantown's Nathan Foster side steps the outstretched stick and continues onto the net for the shot on goal. Foster would get two goals on the night. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Guilderland Dutchmen in non-league action. The Eagles would score twice in the first eight minutes of the game with the second goal coming from Cole Carter assist to Brandon Buksa and Nathan Foster. Then in the last two minutes of the period the Eagles would strike two more times on goals from Nathan Foster and Austin Bradish as the Eagles take a 4-0 lead after the first period. Guilderland score just 45 seconds into the period John Dombrowski to make 4-1. Then the Eagles would strike twice in seconds on goals from Austin Bradsish (2nd of the night) and Kyle Bisonette. Then just two minutes later Nathan Foster scores again for his second of the night to make it 7-1 Eagles. Then two minutes after that Ely Giroux scores to make it 8-1. Then in the ninth minute Kyle Bissonette scores his second of the night to make it 9-1. The Eagles would strike again in the tenth minute to make it 10-1 on Tanner Roser's goal. The last goal of the period would come in the last minute on Cameron Giroux to make it 11-1 after two periods. In the third period the Eagles would twice on goals on goals from Seth Holder and Brantley Marion. With the game would come to an end and the Eagles would get the 13-1 victory to improve to 6-2 on the season. In the winning effort Dustin Plummadore would stop 7 of 8 shots on net. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #12 Madrid-Waddington Yellow Jackets January 4 2013

Chateaugay's Chad Slalter (23) with the tight defense on Madrid-Waddington's Colin O'Bryan (30) to stop the drive to the hoop. The Chateaugay Bulldogs host the Madrid-Waddington Yellow Jackets in section ten action. The game would be a rematch of last years section ten class d championship game and it would deffenately live up to the billing. The game would get very phyiscail at times. When the first quarter would come to end they would be tied 7-7. In the second quarter the Bulldog defense would step as they would win the quarter 16-9 and take the 23-16 lead into the locker room. When the teams would return for the third quarter the intenity would remain and the Bulldogs would remain and the Bulldogs would get the quarter 14-9 and take the 37-25 into the fourt. In the fourth quarter the offenses would come alive and the Yellow Jackets would get it 22-19 but the Bulldogs would hold on for the 56-47 victory. In the the winning effort Devan Barnes would lead the way with fifteen points as the Bulldogs improve to 6-3 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey #2 Malone Huskies Vs Saranac Chiefs January 2 2013

Saranac's Jeremy Barber (19) with the hard hit into the broads on Malone's Jacob Henning (10) going after the loose puck. The Malone Huskies would host the Saranac Chiefs in non-league action. Saranac would open up the scoring in first on Matt Macasland's goal assist to Kyle Erickson. The Huskies would tie it up on Kyle Head's goal 1-1. Saranac's Matt Macsland would give the Chiefs back the lead at 2-1 at the eight minute mark on his second of the night assist going to Kyle Erickson. The Chiefs would go up by 2 with 3 minutes left in the first on Nick Uilva's goal assist to Alex Sarazen. The Huskies would get it back within one in the last minute of the first on Tanner Studlacks goal assist to Cameron Daniels to make it 3-2 after the first. Then just three minutes into the second Studlack and Daniels would connext again to make it 3-3. Then in the ninth minute of the second period Chiefs would regain the lead on Jacob Lillehadel's goal with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Tristin Archambault. The Huskies would tie it up two minutes later on the Bailey Conklin goal with assist going to Kelsey Head and Tanner Studlack. to make it 4-4. Then with two minutes left in the 2nd period the Huskies would score two goals in 58 seconds by Kyler Head and Cameron Daniels to make it 6-4. Then with three minutes left in the third the Chiefs made the end interesting on Matt Macsaland third goal of the night to finish off the hat trick with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Jacob Lillehadl as the Huskies get the 6-5 win. Both goalies would still stop plenty of shots as Malone's Joey Brown stop 34 while Saranac's Zach LaReau stops 31. With the win the Malone Huskies go to 5-1-1 on the season and the Saranac Chiefs fall to 2-5-1. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Boy's Hockey Malone Huskies Vs Massena Red Raiders December 29 2012

Malone's Cameron Daniels (44) with the hard hit into the end boards to jar the puck loose. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in section x hockey action. The Red Raiders would strike early on the Grayson Phillps goal just 3:59 into the game and take the 1-0 lead. The Red Raiders would take the 2-0 lead as the teams end the 1st period on Zach Roberts's goal. Zach Roberts would make it 3-0 lead at the 8:38 mark of the 2nd period. Malone would get on the board with 40 seconds left in the 2nd period on Trevor Cooley's goal. In the losing effort, Joey Brown would stop 37 of 40 shots on the night as the Malone Huskies fall to 4-1-1 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Northern Adirondack Bobcats December 29 2012

Chateaugay's Chad Slater (23) dives after the loose ball and comes up with the steal. Chateaugay's former Coach Ron Boyea is honored before the game for his 21 years of service as a varsity basketball coach. He would be receive a plaque with many accomplishments and around 50 former players would come back to celebrate with him. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in non-league action. The Bulldogs would actually hold the Bobcats scoreless in the first quarter and lead 10-0 after the first. Then in the second quarter, the Bulldogs would outscore the Bobcats 15-4 to take 29-4 lead into the half. Then in the third quarter, the Bulldogs would outscore them 17-7 and take a 46-11 lead into the fourth. In the 4th quarter, the Bobcats would actually cut into the lead by outscoring the Bulldogs 13-8. Although the Bulldogs would hold on to for the 54-24 win. In the winning effort, Noah Bowes would lead the way with fifteen points. With the win, the Bulldogs go to 5-3 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Girl's Basketball Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Brushton-Moria Panthers December 20 2012

Chateaugay's Courtney Boyea (15) cuts down the baseline buy the defender for the layup off the window as part of her 31 point night. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host arch-rival Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X action. The Bulldogs would leave little doubt in the game when they would outscore them 19-1 in the first quarter including a 13-0 run to start the game. From there on out the Panthers would do there best to stay in the game. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would outscore the Panthers 11-7 to take a 30-8 lead at intermission. Then in the second half, the Bulldogs would outscore the Panthers 27-23 to take the 59-31 victory. In the winning effort, Courtney Boyea would lead all scorers with 31 points. With the win, the Bulldogs go to 4-0 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Wrestling Beekmantown Eagles @ Northern Adirondack Bobcats December 19 2012

Beekmantown's Dylan Peryea overpowers the Northern Adirondack wrestlers and take him to the ground with the headlock. The Northern Adirondack Bobcats would host the Beekmantown Eagles in Section VII action. The Eagles would do there best to try and stay with the Bobcats. Some of the matches would be very tight although the Bobcats would keep getting the upper hand and end up getting the 47-22 victory. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Boy's Hockey Malone Huskies Vs Norwood-Norfolk Icemen January 18 2012

Malone's Joey Brown (6) stikes out the left pad for the save. The Malone Huskies would fall again this time to the Norwood-Norfolk Icemen 6-0. The Icemen would get two late first period goals from Cody Smith and Jacob Mayette. Then in the second period add on three more from Connor Brown and two from Zeb Brown. Then in third Jacob Mayette would add one more to close out the game. With the loose the Huskies fall to 1-12 on the season. Joey Brown would strong in net stopping 34 of 40 shots. Gallery
