#9 Peru Nighthawks Vs #12 Saranac Spartans March 4th 2026
The Peru Nighthawks would win the 2026 Section VI Big Schools Champions Challenge 47-41 win overthe Saranac Spartans. It would be the second game of the 2026 Section VII Champions Challenges at Clinton Community College, featuring the #9 Peru Nighthawks and the #12 Saranac Spartans as they go after the title of the best of the big schools. The Nighthawks would start great, they look to continue their storied season with a 19-7 quarte In the second quarter, the Spartans would get their shot, and their defense would be right three as they would double up the Nighhawks with a 12-6 quarter, but would trail 25-19 at the intermission When the teams would return for the third quarter the Spartans defense would still be there as they would have a 8-5 quarter with a 30-27 Nighthawks lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the offense for both teams would have an answer, but the Nighhawks would stand tall with a 17-14 quarter to secure the 47-41 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks' Bella Berry would lead the way with 15 points as they go to 17-2 on the season. Section VII Class B Girl's Basketball Finals: #1 Saranac Spartans Vs #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars February 28th 2026

Saranac's Elizabeth Recore (4) with the three from the corner as the Spartans get the 38-36 victory. It would be the start of the second day of action at the Clinton Community College Florence Gym, as the #1 Saranac Spartans would take on the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars for the right to advance to the New York State Class B Tournament. Defense would be the name of the game, as the Cougars would start at just 6-2 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offense would come alive on both sides, as the Spartans won the quarter 13-12 but trailed 18-15 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would be another low-scoring affair, as the Spartans won the quarter 11-9, and the Cougars took the slim 27-26 lead into the final 8 minutes. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would let their defense stand strong as they would come back and win the quarter 12-9 to get the 38-36 victory In the winning effort for the Spartans Madison Gaginer would have 18 points as they advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season would come to end as Grace Praire would have ten points. Clinton Community College Holiday Classic Girl's Basketball: Malone Huskies Vs Saranac Spartans January 3rd 2026

Malone's Sadie Varin (12) breaks in and lays it in off the window for the score as the Huskies fall short. It would be the start of the second day of the 6th annual Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, and it would begin with a matchup between Section X and Section VII, pitting the Malone Huskies against the Saranac Spartans. The game started well for the Huskies, who jumped out to a 13-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, though, the Spartans would start to find their shot, scoring 12 points and trailing by a slim 18-16 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Spartans kept their hot hand going, scoring 15 points and taking a 31-22 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Huskies mounted a great comeback attempt and even had a chance to tie the game and force overtime in the final 2 seconds with a three-point attempt, but it came up short, and they would fall 44-41. In the winning effort for the Spartans M, Addison Graigner would lead the way with 13 points as they gowent-0 in the tournament.
