It would be another night of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Basketball action, this time from the Plattsburgh High School, and it would see the Hornets tipping off against the Ausable Valley Patriots. The game would be tight as both teams found the basket at a good clip and tied at 12 after the first quarter. Both teams would keep up their good scoring in the second quarter, but the Hornets would be a little better in the quarter at 13-11 and take the 25-23 lead into the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter, the defense would step up for the Patriots, and they would have a 10-6 quarter and take the 33-31 lead into the final quarter. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season for the Plattsburgh Hornets, and the Peru Nighthawks would renew their rivalry again on the hardwood. The game would start well for the Nighthawks as they would jump to a 19-12 lead after the first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot as they would have a 19-14 quarter and take the 38-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, they played an even third quarter, with the Nighthawks winning the quarter 11-10 and taking the 49-36. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would do their best to get back in the game with a shutdown defense, and they would win the quarter 10-2, but it would not be enough on this night as the Nighthawks would get the 51-46 win and the Nighthawks would go to 3-0 on the season while the Hornets fall to 0-1 on the season. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference in Plattsburgh tonight as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #10 Saranac Spartans in girls' basketball action. The Spartans would show off why they are the tenth team in the state as they would get off to a quick start and take the 19-7 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the home Hornets would do their best to keep the game where it is as the Spartans would have a 17-13 quarter and take the 36-20 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half and the third quarter the Hornets would try and get back in the game with a 13-11 quarter but the Spartans would still have the 47-33 lead as they would go into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would leave little to decide the game as they would outscore the Hornets 18-6 and take the 65-39 win. With the win the Spartans will go to 15-2 on the season as they head into their matchup next week with the Peru Nighthawks as the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 8-9 on the season. Gallery

When the teams returned for the third quarter the Hornets would keep on the gas and have a 13-9 quarter and take a 38-27 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would do their best to get back in the game with an 18-15 quarter but the Hornets would take the 53-45 win.
