NYSPHSAA Class C Football Quarterfinals: #4 Schuylerville Spartans Vs #18 Saranac Spartans November 22nd 2025

Saranac's Chace Scovil (7) with the arm tackle on Schuylerville's Blake Cumm as he tried to take the edge. It would be a battle of top-20 teams in the state as the #4 Schuylerville Horses would take on the #18 Saranac Spartans in the NYSPHSAA Class C North Region Final from Plattsburgh, with the winner advancing to the final four. The Horse would get out of the gate first and quickly with an 11-yard run from Max Montgomery for the 6-0 lead at the 4:25 mark of the first quarter. The Horses would keep it going as Max Montgomery would add his second touchdown of the quarter this time from 7 yards at the 9:47 mark for the 14-0 leadThe The Horses would keep it going in the second quarter, when Max Montgomery would get his third touchdown of the gme, this time from seven yards out at the 3:markmamakingng it a 20-gamee, that's where the game would be atttheh half. The Spartans would finally have an answer when Tanner Fields picked up the fumble and took it 39 yards for the score at 1:50 of the fourth quarter,, making it a 36-7 game The Horses would answer back,, though,, as Levi Michuad broke it for a 55-yard run and made it a 42-7 game at the 6:50 mark of the fourt Then on the ensuing kickoff, Sam Lachre would take it 67 yards for the score and make it a 42-14 game. Although the Horses would have one more answer, as evi Michuad would break again, this time for 44 yards, they would close out the game and take the 55-victory. It would be a battle of top-20enty teams in the state as the #4 Schuylerville Horses would take on the #18 Saranac Spartans in the NYSPHSAA Class C North Region Final from Plattsburgh, with the winner advancing to the final four. NYSPHSAA Class C Football First Round: Gouvernur Wildcats Vs Saranac Spartans November 15th 2025

Saranac's Zander Daniels (11) lowers the boom on the defender and trucks him for the first down run. It would be the start of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Football playoffs, and we would see the Gouverneur Wildcats and the Saranac Spartans at Plattsburgh High School, with the winner playing Schuylerville next weekend in the quarterfinals. The teams would use the first quarter as a feeling-out time, as neither team would be able to score. Then at the 5:41 mark of the second quarter, the Spartans would strike on a 15-yard pass to Chace Scovil for the 8-0 Spartans lead. The Spartans would keep coming and extend their lead to 15-0 on a 41-yard run by Teegan Smith, and they would take the 15-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half, the Wildcats would get the game back within one score when Haden Stowell took it from 2 yards out. The game would stay there till there were 35 seconds left in the quarter when Chace Scovil would strike again, this time from 3 yards out, as the score would go to 22-6. Then at the 4:10 mark of the fourth quarter, Storm D'Ambro would score on the 17-yard pass strike and take the 29-6 lead and put the game out of reach. With that, the Spartans would get the win and go to 7-3 on the season, and will face the defending champion Schuylerville next in the quarterfinals. Gouvenour Wildcats Vs Saranac Spartans November 15th 2025

Section VII Football Class C Finals: #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs. #2 Saranac Spartans November 8th 2024

Saranac's River Poulin (30) splits the defenders for the big gain and the first down. It would be the battle of the Saranacs once again for the Section VII Class C Championship from the Beekmantown High School for the right to head to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament. The game would start with the Red Storm jumping out to a quick 13-0 lead, but the Spartans would come back with a couple of scores of their own as they would take the 14-13 lead into the locker room at the half. When the teams return for the second half, it will be a back-and-forth game, but neither team will be able to get any separation. The Spartans would score in the game's closing minute to take the 30-22 lead. The Red Storm would thunder down the head, and they would get the touchdown. Knowing that they needed the two to two tie the game, they would take their quarterback on the sweep, Zack Goet, but they would come up just short, and the Spartans would get the 30-28 victory. In the winning effort, the Spartans go to 3-6 on the season as they will head to section x next week for their state game. As for the Saranac Lake, Red Storm would end their season at 4-4. Gallery

#1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #2 Saranac Spartans November 9th 2024

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 6: Saranac Spartans @ Plattsburgh Hornets October 12th 2024

It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans as part of their homecoming weekend and their last home game of the regular season. The game would start slow, with no scoring in the first quarter. The Spartans would get the game's opening score 32 seconds into the second quarter on a River Poulin 9-yard run for the 6-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 9:14 mark of the quarter when the Hornets would block the Spartan's punt attempt, and it would roll out the back of the endzone for the Hornet's safety, making it a 6-2 game. Then, in the final 30 seconds of the half, the Hornets would take the lead on a 29-yard strike to Braeden Calkins and take the 8-6 lead to the locker room. The Spartans would not go quietly and retake the lead at 14-8 on a 1-yard run by River Poulin to take the lead 14-8 at the 2:11 mark. Then, at the 6:11 mark of the third quarter, the Spartans would extend their lead to 22-8 on the 2-yard run by Zack Lucia. In the closing minutes of the third, the Hornets would cut the lead in half on the Dominic Deangelo score to make it 22-16 game. The game would stay there till the 5:48 mark of the fourth when Dominic Deangelo would score again, this time on a 56-yard pass and catch to make it a 22-22 game coming down the stretch. Then, with 12 seconds left in the game, the Hornets would drive down, hit Braeden Calkins for the 2-yard pass, and get the 28-22 victory. In the winning effort, the Plattsburgh Hornets go to 4-2 on the season as they head into their road game against the Beekmantown Eagles next weekend. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 2: Saranac Spartans @ Beekmantown Eagles September 13th 2024

Saranac's Branigan Boulds (10) watches the ball into the hands for the catch and big play for the Spartans. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. Still, it would be the first conference game for both teams as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Spartans as they were both looking to get their conference season going right off the back. The Eagles would control the ball for most of the first quarter and would get the opening score of the game at the 10:37 mark of the quarter on a 5-yard run by Parker Broughton for the 8-0 Eagles lead. The Eagles would waste little time getting the ball back and marching it down the field as Parker Broughton would score again this time on a 47-yard strike to give the Eagles the 15-0 lead just 1:25 into the second quarter. Then with just over three minutes left in the half, the Eagles would break the game open on a 93-yard pass and catch to Patrick Hagadorn for the 22-0 Eagles lead and that's where they would end the first half. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same as the Eagles would stay on the gas and extend the lead to 29-0 at the midway mark of the third period on the short run by Shamus Bibeau. The game would stay there till the 3:43 mark of the fourth quarter when Shamus Bibeau would score again on the short run to give the Eagles the 35-0 lead and victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 on the season as they will host the Massena Red Raiders next week in non-conference action. As for the Saranac Spartans, they will head home for their home opener against the Moriah Vikings as they look to shake their 0-2 start.Gallery
