In the second quarter, the defense would step up for the Cardinals as they would hold the Hawks to just eight points, a score of their own, and tie the game at 32 as they entered the intermission. The game would start well for the home Cardinals in the high pace affair with a 19-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The Saints would keep coming, though, and they would take it into the intermission tied at 33 with a 20-14 quarter. When the teams would return for the third quarter, the Saints would stay hot as they would come out with a 17-11 quarter, taking the lead at 50-44 and entering the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the home Cardinals would do their best to get the lead back, and they would even have their chance down the stretch to tie the game with under ten seconds, but it would come up short with a 16-14 quarter, and the Saints would get the 64-60 win.
