NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Cardinal Classic Day 2: Castleton State Spartans Vs Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 18th 2023
Plattsburgh State's Imani Walcott (23) banks it off the backboard for the score as part of a sixteen-point night, It would be the last game of the Cardinal Classic and between the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Castleton State Spartans in what would be the third-place game as they were both coming off losses. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would start with a 17-10 lead after the 1st quarter. However, in the second quarter, the Spartans would come charging back with a 20-12 quarter and the Spartans would have a slim 30-29 lead at the intermission. When the teas returned from the intermission break the Spartanns would use the quarter to take control of the game with a 20-9 quarter and 50-38 lead overall. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals would do everything they could to get back in the game but all they could do was cut the deficit in half with a 21-15 quarter giving the Spartans the 65-59 victory. In the losing effort, Payton Couture would lead the Cardinals with a game-high 20 points as they go to 2-2 on the season. The Cardinals will be back in action on Monday, November 28th as they will travel to Utica and take on the Pioners. Gallery

NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Cardinal Classic Day 2: Bates College Bobcats Vs Potsdam State Bears
Bates College Elisa Daulerio (22) with the shot over the defender as part of a 15-point game. It would be day 2 of the Cardinal Classic Women's Basketball Tournament and it would be a matchup for the title between Bates College from the NESCAC and the Potsdam State Bears of the SUNYAC after they both won yesterday. The Bobcats would be off and running in the first quarter and their defense would keep the Bears in check as the Bobcats would have the 14-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would be more evenly matched as the Bobcats would only win the quarter 14-12 but the Bears would be behind 28-15 at the half. When the teams returned for the second half the teams would stay evenly matched but the Bears would be unable to do anything with the deficit as the Bobcats would win the quarter 15-14 and have a 43-31 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats would finish off the Bears with a 15-6 quarter and the Bobcats would get 58-35 the win. In the winning effort, Morgan Kennedy would lead the way with 22 points as they go to 3-0 on the season and the Potsdam State Bears fall to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Cardinal Classic Day 1: Castleton State Spartans Vs Potsdam State Bears
Potsdam State's Jakia Howard (12) with the down low for 2 points as part of a game-high 28 points. It would be the opening game of the first day of the Cardinal Classic and it would feature the Castleton State Spartans from the Little East Conference and the Potsdam State Bears from the SUNYAC. The offenses would be on display through the first quarter as the Potsdam State Bears would have a slim 21-18 lead after the first quarter. The game would stay close through the second quarter as the Spartans would win the quarter by a slim 15-13 and take the 36-31 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would stay close but the Spartans would get the quarter but close by a 19-16 score and the Bears would have the two-point lead at 52-50 as they entered the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, the game would stay close but the Bears would extend the lead to six for the 79-73 win. In the winning effort for the Bears, Jakia Howard would lead the way with 28 points as the Bears will play Bates tomorrow for the Cardinal Classic title. Gallery

St. Lawerence Saints @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 16th 2022 NCAA Women's Basketball
Plattsburgh State's Bri Brousseau (40) with the runner down the lane to get the shot off. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be back in action tonight against north country foe the St. Lawrence Saints in non conference action at memorial hall on the suny plattsburgh campus. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be doubling up the Saints at the end of the first quarter with a 16-8 lead. Then in the second quarter the Saints would come charging back with a 19-10 quarter and have a slim 27-26 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would find there shoot again with a 16-12 quarter and take the 42-39 lead into the final quarter. In the final quarter the Saints would find there shoot and have a slightly better quarter at 21-16 which would give the Saints the 60-58 win. In the losing effort a pair of Cardinals would lead all scores with fourteen points for Mya Smith and Hannah Ruberto as they go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery

Clarkson Golden Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 8th 2022 NCAA Women's Basketball
Plattsburgh State's Brinley Inglee (14) with the runner across the lane that she throws off the window. It would be the opening night of the 2022-23 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Basketball as they would take fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would start off tight but the Cardinals would have the slim lead after the first quarter with a 15-11 quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay the same with the Cardinals winning the quarter by a 16-14 margin and take a 31-25 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Golden Knights would keep up the fight to keep the game close and even cut into the defecit with a 22-18 quarter to 49-47 Cardinals as they head to the last quarter. In that final stanza the game couldn't get any closer as it would be a 12-12 quarter and the Cardinals would hold onto to the 61-59 victory. With the win the Cardinals would get there season started off right as they go to 1-0 and Bri Brousseau would lead the way with a 16 point night as the Golden Knights fall to 0-1 on the season. Brockport State Golden Eagles @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball February 12th 2022
Plattsburgh State's Hannah Ruberto (30) with the challenged layup over the Brockport State defender for the hoop and haem. It would be the final regular-season home game for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC Women's Basketball action. The game would not start off the greatest for the home Cardinals as the Golden Eagles would jump out to a 14-9 through the first quarter of the game. Then in the second quarter, the Golden Eagles started to pull away with a 21-14 quarter and take a 35-23 lead into the locker room. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Golden Eagles would really start to put the game away with a 13-1 quarter and take a 48-24 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles would put the final touches on the game with an 11-7 quarter and finish off the Cardinals with a 59-31 victory. As the Cardinals would fall to 7-16 on the season and Hope Sullivan would lead the way for the Cardinals with eight points. Gallery

Geneseo State Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball February 11th 2022
Plattsburgh State's Mya Smith (11) with the straight-on jumper from the top of the key as part of a three-point night. It would be a matchup at Plattsburgh State's Memorial Hall as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Geneseo State Knights in Women's SUNYAC Basketball action. It would be a low-scoring slow start to the game as the visiting Knights would have the 9-6 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offensive would start to come and the Cardinals would lead the quarter 13-8 and take the slim 19-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be the same the defenses would be on display with the Knights winning the quarter 15-12 and taking the slim 32-31 lead into the final quarter. In that final quarter, the Knights would just shut down the Cardinals with a 13-3 quarter and win the game 45-34. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 7-15 on the season as Kayla Doddy would lead the way with ten points and they are back in action February 12th against the Brockport State Eagles. Gallery

Fredonia State Blue Devils @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball Janaury 23rd 2022
Plattsburgh State's Misa Dowdell (55) with the mid range jumper for the score. It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Fredonia State Blue Devils in SUNYAC Women's Basketball action. The game would start tight in the beginning as the Blue Devils would have a slight 14-13 lead after the first quarter. It would remain tight through the second quarter as the Blue Devils get the quarter 19-15 and lead 33-28 at the half. In the third quarter, the defenses would be on display with a low-scoring 11-8 quarter but would extend their lead to 44-36 as they head into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals would have no answer as the Blue Devils win the quarter 12-6 and the game 56-42. It would be tight through the first quarter the Cardinals would have a slim 17-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter it would be a different story as the Bengals would have shutdown defense and win the quarter 13-3 and the Cardinals would trail 29-20 as they head into the intermission, In the third quarter the offenses would both show up and the Cardinals would have a 21-18 quarter but they still would trail 47-41 as they head into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would do their best to get back in the game with another 21-18 quarter. Although it wouldn't be enough as they would lose 65-62 and fall to 5-10 on the season and Hope Sullivan would lead the way with 13 points. Gallery

Cortland State Red Dragons @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball Janaury 13th 2022
Plattsburgh State's Payton Couture (33) with in a close jumper with the defender on her hit as part of a five-point night. It would be the home opener of the 2022 portions of the season as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC action. It would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be down early and big after the first quarter 18-5 to the Red Dragons. The in the second quarter the Red Dragons would be a blur to the Cardinals with a 30-13 quarter and the Cardinals would trail 48-18 at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Red Dragons would stay hot with a 17-7 quarter and have a 65-25 lead to head into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals wouldn't give up the fight and win the quarter 23-16. Although the Red Dragons would hold on for the convincing win at 81-48. as the Cardinals go to 3-8 on the season and the Red Dragons go to 9-2 on the season. Gallery
