NYSPHSAA Class D Northern Region Finals Girl's Soccer: #3 Colton Pierrepont ColtsVs. #5 Chazy Eagles November 1st 2024

Chazy's Caitlyn Harvey (11) and Colton-Pierrepont Colts (9) battle for the loose ball. It would be the NYSPHSAA Northern Region Finals from the Plattsburgh State Field House and feature a couple of top 5 teams in the state, with the #3 Colton-Pierrepont Colts taking on the #5 Chazy Eagles. The game would be tight throughout the first half as both teams would have chances to get the match's opening goal but would head to the locker room tied at 0. When the teams returned for the second half, it would be more of the same as it was starting to look like we were headed to overtime. The Colts would get a pair of goals in the final ten minutes as they would secure the 2-0 victory, punch their ticket to the final four next weekend in Cortland, and enter with an undefeated record at 18-0-2. The Colton-Pierrepont Colts are crowned the 2024 Northern Region Champions with a 2-0 victory. It would be the NYSPHSAA Northern Region Finals from the Plattsburgh State Field House and feature a couple of top 5 teams in the state, with the #3 Colton-Pierrepont Colts taking on the #5 Chazy Eagles. The game would be tight throughout the first half as both teams would have chances to get the match's opening goal but would head to the locker room tied at 0. It would be Section X Lacrosse action from the Stafford Middle School in Plattsburgh as the Plattsburgh Hornets would be hosting the Colton-Pierrepont Colts in a mid-season affair as it would be a battle of one lose teams to see who would take control of the Division II lead. Chateaugay's Holly Zeldenrusst (17) fields the bunt in front of the plate and fires to first for the out. In a battle for first place in the East division, the Chateaugay Bulldogs would fall 3-0 to the Colton-Pierpont Colts. The Colts would get single runs in the fourth, fifth, and six for the victory. In losing effort Courtney Boyea would go the distance giving up 5 hits and striking out nine. With the lose the Bulldogs finish there season at 10-2 in three-way tie for there first division title with Colton-Pierpont and Parishville-Hopkinton. Gallery

Chateaugay's Dylan LaVoie (31) goes in for the uncontested lay up for the score. The #3 Chateaugay Bulldogs would opening up the home portion of the season against the Colton-Peirpont Colts in Section X East Division action. In the first quarter it would be a feeling out period for both teams as the Bulldogs would have a slim 7-2 lead. In the second quarter the Bulldog offense would come alive and take control of the game as they win the quarter 21-9 and take a 28-11 lead into the half. When the teams return for the third qurter it would be a tighter quarter as the Bulldogs would win the quarter 13-9 and have a 41-20 lead. In the fourth quarter it would be tight again but the Bulldogs would win the quarter 16-14 and get the 57-34 victory. In the winning effort Jordan Martin would lead the way with 16 points as the Bulldogs go to 5-0 on the season. Gallery.

Chateaugay's Rachel Young (3) goes shoulder to shoulder with the defender for the ball at midfield. The #12 Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Colton-Peirpont Colts in Northern Athletic Conference soccer action. The Bulldogs would jump out quick and take the 1-0 lead on Katie Beach's 2nd minute goal. Then in the 13th minute the Bulldogs would extend there lead to 2-0 on Brianna Cook's goal. Then in the 32nd minute they would end there first half assault with Danielle Charaland's goal to make it 3-0 Bulldogs. Then when teams came back for the second the Bulldogs would insure the win on Brianna Cook's second goal of the game in the 40th minute to make it 4-0. From there on the Bulldogs would hold on for the 4-0 win. In the winning effort the Bulldogs goalies would combine for the shutout victory as they go to 8-1 on the season.
