It would be the opening night of the 2022-23 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Basketball as they would take fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would start off tight but the Cardinals would have the slim lead after the first quarter with a 15-11 quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay the same with the Cardinals winning the quarter by a 16-14 margin and take a 31-25 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Golden Knights would keep up the fight to keep the game close and even cut into the defecit with a 22-18 quarter to 49-47 Cardinals as they head to the last quarter. In that final stanza the game couldn't get any closer as it would be a 12-12 quarter and the Cardinals would hold onto to the 61-59 victory. With the win the Cardinals would get there season started off right as they go to 1-0 and Bri Brousseau would lead the way with a 16 point night as the Golden Knights fall to 0-1 on the season. It would be the home finale for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the SUNYAC Men's Basketball action. The Cardinals would do their best to keep the game close through the first half although the Golden Eagles would take the 51-36 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Cardinals would look for an answer to the Golden Eagles but wouldn't have one as they lose the half 53-37 and the game 104-73, In the losing effort Kevin Tabb would lead the way with 26 points as the Cardinals fall to 2-22 on the season. It would be a tight game throughout with both teams having their chance to breakout but just couldn't and the Knights would have the slim 37-35 lead at the end of the first half. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same although the Knights would just be a little better with a 28-27 half and secure the 65-62 victory. Leading the way in a losing effort for the Cardinals would be Etik Salo with 18 points as they go to 2-20 on the season. It would be the second game of the weekend for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and this time they would be playing the Fredonia State Blue Devils. Once again the Cardinals would be in a fight and it would be tight through the first half and the Cardinals would have a slim 38-37 lead at the break. In the second half, the Cardinals would do their best to pull away but they would come shortly as the Blue Devils would drain a three-pointer at the buzzer and the Cardinals would fall 76-75.
