The game would stay there till the 5:08 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would get the qualifier from Morley Phillips. Then, just 2:16 later, the Red Dragons would take the lead at 2-1 on the Matthew Despirit goal. The game would stay there until just 45 seconds into the third period, when the CardinaPls would tie the game on Lonan Bulger's goal at 2. In overtime, the Cardinals would get the game-winner on a 2 1 breakout play when Thierry Lizotte would tap in the rebound for the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Beau Lane would make 29 saves as they evened up their record at 3-3 as they entered their annual Thanksgiving weekend tournament at Middlebury. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up the home portion of their season in a rematch of the SUNYAC Championship from last season as they would take on the Cortland State Red Dragons in front of a packed house at the Ronnie B. The game would start great for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal just 8 minutes in on the shorthanded goal from Josh Belgrave for the 1-0 lead. The Red Dragons would return just 4 minutes later and tie the game up on the Nate Boak goal. Then, just 2 minutes after that, the Red Dragons could take the lead on the Nathan Garnier goal and make it a 2-1 game. The game would stay there till the 13:53 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would extend their lead to 3-1. The defense would hold tall, and that's where the game ended as the Red Dragons would get the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Red Dragons, they would go to 4-2 in the season, and Ronan Mobley would make 21 saves on the night. The Cardinals would fall to 2-3 in the season as Jacob Hearne made 24 saves. It would be the SUNYAC Championship from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse with the winner getting the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,188 fans. It would be the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the #4 Cortland State Red Dragons and having seen the Cardinals win both regular season matches. The game would be tight through the first period with both teams getting their scoring chances but no one would be able to flip on the red light to get a goal and it would be scoreless after the first period. In the second period, we would get the first goal of the game, unfortunately, it would be the Cortland State Red Dragons getting the opening goal of the game at the 11:28 mark from Colby Seitz to make it a 1-0 game and that's how the second period would end. The Cardinals would waste no time tying the game up in the third period just 58 seconds in on the powerplay goal from Ryan Bonfield. The game would stay there till there was 4:38 left in the game the Red Dragons would regain the lead at 2-1 on the Nate Berke goal. Down the stretch, though the Cardinals would pull the goal to try and get the equalizer, and with 33 seconds left they would do just that on Ryan Bonfield’s second goal of the game and the game would head to overtime. In the overtime, the Red Dagons would get the game-winner as they would get the lead for the third and final time on the night on the Anthony Bernando goal and the 3-2 Dragons win. In the winning effort, Jack Riedell would make 41 saves on the night as the Cortland State Red Dragons get the conference's auto bid and head to the NCAA Tournament. Plattsburgh State's Tio D'Addario (9) gets the rebound goal to get the Cardinals scoring started. It would be the annual teddy bear toss night at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons as they would look to continue their undefeated season in front of just over 1500 fans. It would take the 7:12 mark of the first period before Tio D'Addario would score for the Cardinals and then the Bears would go flying. Then with just over a minute left in the period the Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Thomas Maia goal. The game would stay there till the 11:07 mark of the second period Aaron Catron for the lone goal of the second period. It would take long into the third period for a goal as the Cardinals would score just 25 seconds in on the Josh Belgrave goal to make it a 4-0 game. With just about 5:30 left in the game, the Red Dragons would end the shutout bid with the Domenic Settino goal to make it 4-1. Although just over 40 seconds later the Cardinals would get the 4-goal lead back on Luk Jirousek and just over two minutes later Jirousek would score again to secure the 6-1 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would stay perfect on the season at 9-0 as Eli Shiller would make 18 saves on the night. The #13 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would finish off hall of fame weekend as they would host the Cortland State Red Dragons and before and during the game they would honor former coach Bob Emery, the 1980-81 team, and the 2000-01 team. As for the game itself, the Cardinals would dominate the game as the Cardinals would outshoot the Red Dragons 49-12 on the night.
