A pair of Ausable Valley defenders bring down Peru's Landon Wilkins (32) short of the first down. It would be week 7 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Ausable Valley Patriots on the Nighthawk's senior night. The Nighthawks would take the early lead in the game at 7-0 on the 4-yard rush by Chase Carpenter 2 minutes into the game. Then, to finish the quarter, the Nighthawks would add two rushing touchdowns to give them the 21-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks continued their success and added a pair of touchdowns from Chase Carpenter and Jake Frechette, who took the 34-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would stay hot and expand their lead to 41-0 on the Owen Smith 1-yard run. Then, in the fourth quarter, the Patriots would break through and get on the board as they connected on a 74-yard pass to Lucas Dashnaw and got the two-point conversion to make it a 41-8 game, and that's where the scoring would end. With the win, the Nighthawks go to 4-2 in the season as they enter the season finale next week against the Moriah Vikings. As for the Ausable Valley Patriots, they fall to 0-7 on the season and will finish off their season next weekend against the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

Peru's Chris Williams (12) broke through the tackle for the big gain as the Nighthawks would get the 41-8 victory and go to 4-2 on the season. It would be week 7 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Ausable Valley Patriots on the Nighthawk's senior night. The Nighthawks would take the early lead in the game at 7-0 on the 4-yard rush by Chase Carpenter 2 minutes into the game. Lake Placid's (10) shot past the defender inside the 18-yard box for the Blue Bombers goal. It would be senior day at Seton Catholic, where they would celebrate the first class of seniors to play on their new school field at halftime and host the Lake Placid Blue Bombers. The game would be tight through the first half as both teams would have their chances, but no one could put in the net for a score. When the teams returned for the second half, the Blue Bombers answered early with a goal in the 49th minute to give them the 1-0 lead. Then, in the game's closing minutes, the 76th to be exact, the Blue Bombers would add a second goal to secure the 2-0 win. In the winning effort, the Lake Placid Blue Mombers would go to 6-7-1 on the season as they head into their weekend contest against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. As for the Knights, they will stay winless as they fall to 0-14 on the season and head into their road contest against section 4 Groton Cardinals on Tuesday. Gallery

With the shot on net, Lake Placid's (9) would have one of the two Blue Bombers goals as they get the 2-0 lead. The Plattsburg Hornets would leave little to the contest as they would take the straight-set victory by the score of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-14 for the victory. With the victory, the Hornets would stay perfect on the season as they go to 12-0 and head into their next match next week at Beekmantown for a matchup between the top 2 teams in the league. Section VII Boy's Soccer: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Plattsburgh Hornets Otober 16th 2024

It would be Section VII Boy's Soccer action from the Plattsburgh High Athletic Complex as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars as the teams start to focus on the playoffs and a conference title. The home Hornets would waste little time getting the game's opening goal in the 9th minute from Nate Baker for the 1-0 lead. The Cougars would come fighting back and tie the game in the 17th minute on the Evais Carpenter goal to make it a 1-1 game. Then the Hornets would find a way to answer that and regain the 1-goal lead at 2-1 on the Nate Lambert goal. However, the Cougars would not let that lead stand as they would answer right back 2 minutes later in the 28th minute on the Kaze Carpenter goal to tie the game at 2. From there, the defenses and the goalkeepers would stand tall as there would be no more scoring through the regulation and the two overtimes, and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. The Hornets will go to 8-2-2 on the season as they head into their next game Friday at home against the Ausable Valley Patriots. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they will go to 8-1-4 in the season and take on the Saranac Spartans on Friday as they fight for their conference title. Gallery

It would be a match-up inside Section VII Boy's Soccer action with a pair of mountain valley teams doing battle at Seton Catholic as the Knights would host the #5 Chazy Eagles, looking to stay undefeated on the season. The Eagles would waste little time getting the game's first goal at the 13-minute mark from Jacoby Weeden for the 1-0 lead. Then the Eagles would add another couple of goals from Landon Duprey, and the Eagles would take the 3-0 lead. The Eagles weren't down, though; in the 38th minute, they would extend the lead to 4-0 on a goal from Pryce Parker. Then, to finish out the half, they would get one more from Landon Duprey to finish off his hat trick and give the Eagles a 5-0 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay on the gas and add another goal in the 50th minute, this time from Jack Rovers, as they took the 6-0 lead. Then, in the 62nd minute, the Knights would get on the board to avoid the shutout on the goal by 2. In the 70th minute, the Eagles would stay on the take and get a goal from Hudson Ziel as they took the 7-1 lead and added one more late to secure the 8-1 victory. With the win, the Chazy Eagles improve their record to 11-1 on the season as they will take on the Saranac Lake Red Storm on Thursday.
