Chazy's Landon Duprey (8) with the shot on net as he would have 1 of the 2 Eagles goals on the day. It would be the Northern Regional Finals of the NYSPHSAA Class D Boy's Soccer tournament, and it would feature the #3 Heuvelton Bulldogs from Section X and the #4 Chazy Eagles from Section VII from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse with a berth to the final four on the line. The Eagles would waste little time getting on the board in the 7th minute of the game on the masterful shot from Landon Duprey for the Eagle's 1-0 lead. The defenses would be on the mark for the rest of the half, as that would be the only half score. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would strike early again, this time in the 43rd minute as Jacoby Weeden with the touch to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead. The Eagles would have their defense up to the task the rest of the game as they would hold on for the 2-0 lead and get the return trip to Middletown and the final four next weekend as they go to 17-2-1 on the season. Section VII Class D Boy's Soccer Finals. #2 Chazy Eagles Vs. #1 Keene Beavers November 2nd 2024

Chazy's Landon Duprey (8) and Keene's Max Hyman (5) battle for the ball along the sidelines as the Eagles were on the attack. It would be the Class D Section VII Boy's Soccer Championship from Beekmantown High School, and there would be a traditional powerhouse there; still, this time, they would be the underdog as they would come in as the #2 seed and take on the #1 Keene Beavers, with the winner headed to the New York State tournament. The Chazy Eagles would be looking to defend their title and would get the game's opening goal at the 15-minute mark from Madox Tyndall to make it a 1-0 game, and that is where the game would stay through the first half. The game would stay there till the 55th minute when the Eagles and Tyndall would score again and take control of the game at 2-0. That is where the game would finish, and the Eagles would win as they go 17-2-1 in the season and will take on the winner of Section X on November 9th in the quarterfinals of the state tournament. Section VII Class B Boy's Soccer Finals. #2 Saranac Spartans Vs. #1 Northeastern Clinton Cougars November 1st 2024

Northeastern Clinton's Jordan Wells (8) and Saranac's Brody McComber (6) battle after the ball inside the 18-yard box as the Spartans look to get back in the game. It would be the Section VII Class B Boy's Soccer championship from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the #1 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would take on the #2 Saranac Spartans with a berth in the New York state tournament on the line. The Cougars would waste little time in getting the game's opening goal as Evias Carpenter would score in the second minute to give them the early 1-0 lead. The defenses on both sides would stand tall for the rest of the half as neither team would score again in the half. When the teams would return for the second half, the Cougars would give themselves some breathing room in the 66th minute on the goal from Ashton Turner, and from there, the Cougars would hold on for the 2-0 win and be crowned the 2024 Section VII Class B Champions for the second year in a row as they will enter the tournament with an 11-2-4 record ranked 18th in the state and will take on the undefeated and number 4 team in the state Menachicsville in the opening round. As for the Saranac Spartans, their season will end at 9-6-2. Gallery

Section VII Class A Boy's Soccer Finals. #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #1 Peru Nighthawks October 30th 2024

Peru's Zach Benson (20) splits a pair of Hornets and puts the shot on the net for the Nighthawks' third goal. It would be the second game of the championship Wednesday for section vii at Northeastern Clinton as the #1 Peru Nighthawks would take on the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets in a rematch of last year's title game that saw the Hornets get the win in the 12th round of the shootout almost a year ago to the date. The Nighthawks would come, and they were not looking for a repeat of last year as they scored in the first minute of the game on the Nolan Miner goal to make it a quick 1-0 lead. The Nighthawks would keep their foot on the gas and extend their lead to 2-0 on the Nick Petro goal. Then, in the final minute of the half, the Nighthawks would add another one, this time from Zach Benson, to make it a 3-0 game as the teams headed to the locker room. When the teams return for the second half, the Hornets come out trying to get on the board, but the Nighthawks' defense would be too much for them on this day, and the Nighthawks would get the 3-0 win. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks would stay perfect on the season at 14-0-1 and will enter the New York State Tournament and take on #9 Schalmont in the opening round. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets' chance at a repeat, it comes up short, and their season ends at 11-3-3. Gallery

Section VII Class A Boy's Soccer Semi-Finals. #3 Beekmantown Eagles @ #2 Plattsburgh Hornets October 25th 2024

Plattsburgh's Richard Griffin (7) and Beekmantown's (10) are locked together as the Eagles go in on the attack. It would be a semi-final action from the Plattsburgh High School as the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #3 Beekmantown Eagles in Section VII Class A Boy's Soccer action. The Hornets would waste little time in getting on the board as Joel Avos would score in the 15th minute of the game. That would end the scoring in the first half. When the teams returned for the second half, both teams would give it everything they had, but the defense would be the game's name, and no one could find the back of the net. The Plattsburgh Hornets would get the 1-0 victory and go to 11-2-3 on the season and will face the undefeated Peru Nighthawks in the Section VII Class A Finals on October 30th. Section VII Boy's Soccer: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ #7 Peru Nighthawks Otober 11th 2024

Northeastern Clinton's Maxx Rabideau (00) with the save as the Nighthawks crashed down the net for the goal attempt. It would be the regular season final for both the Northeaster Clinton Cougars and the #7 Peru Nighthawks, and they would meet up at the Apple Bowl at Peru High School. The Nighthawks would look to avenge their only time of the season. The Nighthawks would control the game through the first half, but no one could find the niet, and it would be tied at zero. The game would stay there until the Cougars took the 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute on the Evias Carpenter goal. They would stay there till the 69th minute when the Nighthawks would break through and tie the game in the 69th minute on the Collin Powers goal. Then, three minutes later, in the 72nd minute, the Nighthawks would take the lead on the Nolan Miner goal at 2-1. Then, to finish off the 9-minute bridge, the Nighthawks would make it a 3-1 game in the 78th minute on the Nick Petro goal. The Nighthawks would get the win, finish off the undefeated regular season at 13-0-1, and go into the playoffs as the number 1 seed in the Section VII A bracket. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they will finish the regular season at 9-2-4 as they enter the Section VII B playoffs. Gallery

Northern Adirondack's Izek Guay (8) shields the Seton Catholic (9) as he turns and burns heads down the pitch on the attack. It would be the Seton Catholic Knights' last home game and senior night as they would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in Section VII Boy's Soccer action. The Bobcats would waste little time and get the game's opening goal in the third minute from Kaleb Guay to give them the early 1-0 lead. Then, in the 22nd minute of the game, the Bobcats would stay on the gas and add another one, this time from Calvin Magoon, to make it 2-0 Bobcats, and that's how the first half would end for scoring. When the teams return for the second half, the Bobcats stay on the attack and add another goal in the 62nd minute as they extend their lead to 3-0 on the goal from Donovan Turner. Then, in the 72nd minute, the Bobcats would end the scoring on the Shane Gilmore goal as they would secure their 4-0 win. In the winning effort, the Northern Adirondack Bobcats would go to 8-4-1 as they will finish their regular season tomorrow at Beekmantown. Section VII Boy's Soccer: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Plattsburgh Hornets Otober 16th 2024

Plattsburgh's Quinn Roth (10) dances with the ball and drags it around a pair of Cougars defenders for the shot. It would be Section VII Boy's Soccer action from the Plattsburgh High Athletic Complex as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars as the teams start to focus on the playoffs and a conference title. The home Hornets would waste little time getting the game's opening goal in the 9th minute from Nate Baker for the 1-0 lead. The Cougars would come fighting back and tie the game in the 17th minute on the Evais Carpenter goal to make it a 1-1 game. Then the Hornets would find a way to answer that and regain the 1-goal lead at 2-1 on the Nate Lambert goal. However, the Cougars would not let that lead stand as they would answer right back 2 minutes later in the 28th minute on the Kaze Carpenter goal to tie the game at 2. From there, the defenses and the goalkeepers would stand tall as there would be no more scoring through the regulation and the two overtimes, and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. The Hornets will go to 8-2-2 on the season as they head into their next game Friday at home against the Ausable Valley Patriots. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they will go to 8-1-4 in the season and take on the Saranac Spartans on Friday as they fight for their conference title. Gallery

Section VII Boy's Soccer #5 Chazy Eagles @ Seton Catholic Knights October 15th 2024

Seton Catholic's (20 carries the ball through the midfield to start the Knights attack. It would be a match-up inside Section VII Boy's Soccer action with a pair of mountain valley teams doing battle at Seton Catholic as the Knights would host the #5 Chazy Eagles, looking to stay undefeated on the season. The Eagles would waste little time getting the game's first goal at the 13-minute mark from Jacoby Weeden for the 1-0 lead. Then the Eagles would add another couple of goals from Landon Duprey, and the Eagles would take the 3-0 lead. The Eagles weren't down, though; in the 38th minute, they would extend the lead to 4-0 on a goal from Pryce Parker. Then, to finish out the half, they would get one more from Landon Duprey to finish off his hat trick and give the Eagles a 5-0 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay on the gas and add another goal in the 50th minute, this time from Jack Rovers, as they took the 6-0 lead. Then, in the 62nd minute, the Knights would get on the board to avoid the shutout on the goal by 2. In the 70th minute, the Eagles would stay on the take and get a goal from Hudson Ziel as they took the 7-1 lead and added one more late to secure the 8-1 victory. With the win, the Chazy Eagles improve their record to 11-1 on the season as they will take on the Saranac Lake Red Storm on Thursday. As for the Seton Catholic Knights, they will look to get back on track as they fall to 2-8 before their next game against Lake Placid Blue Bombers. Gallery

We would have Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer action as the #9 Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm as they were looking to keep their undefeated season going. The Nighthawks would waste little time getting the lead as they would take the 1-0 lead just ten minutes into the game on the Declan Baker goal. Then, as time would expire on the opening half, the Nighthawks would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Zach Benson buzzer beater. The Nighthawks would come out of the locker room hot and extend their lead to 3-0 in the 43rd minute on the Collin Powers goal, and he would add two more in ten minutes to have a hat trick and give the Nighthawks a commanding 5-0 lead. Then, to end the game in the 65th minute, Alex Watts would score to give the Nighthawks the 6-0 lead and then hold on from there for the shutout victory and go to 11-0-1 on the season as they head into their next match on October 18th against the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Saranac Lake Red Storm, they fall to 6-7 in the season, and they will look to get back to 500 in the year as they take on Boquet Valley on October 15th. Gallery
