The Blue Devils would extend there lead 2-0 on a power play goal in the fourteenth minute of the second period. Then with just over a minute left in the second period the Cardinals would cut the lead in half at 2-1 on Liam Lawson goal. Then with under six and half minutes left in the game the Cardinals would tie the game at two on the Andrew Pizzio goal. Plattsburgh State's Kelly Degnan (32) rises up and battles for possession on the opening tip. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oneonta State Red Dragons in SUNYAC action. When the game would start it would be tight as the Cardinals trailed 17-15 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game would stay close as the Cardinals only lose it 19-17 and would trail 36-32 at the break, When the teams came back for the second half the Dragons would start to pull away as the Cardinals lose the third quarter 19-11 and trail 55-43 after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would try to cut into the difference but would lose the quarter 17-14 and lose the game 72-57. In the losing effort, Kelly Degnan would lead the way with 16 points as the Cardinals fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery

The game would be very close at the start the Cardinals would have a slim 1-0 lead after the first period on Matt Araujo goal. In the second period the Cardinals would expand there lead to 4-0 with goals from Charles Barber, Cam Owens and Andrew Pizzo. In the third period the Cardinals would put the game away with three more goals from Rich McCartney, Christian Difelice and Cory Stallard and secure the 7-0 victory. In the winning effort Jimmy Poreda would make 21 saves in theb shutout effort as the Cardinals go to 4-3-1 on the season. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up the home portion of the schedule against the Skidmore Mustangs in nonconference action. The game would be tight through the first half and the Cardinals would have a slim 37-33 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the Cardinals would do there best to pull away but the Mustangs were doing there best to hang in there, the Cardinals would win the second half 46-42 and secure the 83-75 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Norwich Cadets in the season opener. The Cardinals would start the game on fire and have a commanding 20-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second the Cadets would do there best to get back into and cut the defecit in half with a 15-11 although the Cardinals would still lead 31-25. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be pretty equal with the Cadets winning the quarter 12-11 and still trail the Cardinals 42-37. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would pull it together and win the quarter 17-15 and secure the 59-52 victory. Plattsburgh State's Liam Lawson (39) fires the shot on net breaking down the wing. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosted the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC conference action. The game would be tight from the start. The opening goal of the game would come at the 8:06 mark of the second period and the Golden Eagles would take the 1-0 lead of the second period. The Cardinals would fight back and tie the game at the 13:15 mark of the second period on Ryan Kuhn goal. That would be all the scoring in the game and it would finish in a 1-1 tie. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would face #2 and conference foe Geneseo State to get the season started. The Cardinals would draw first blood on a goal by Cam Owens at 11:32 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 at 5:18 of the second period on a Pat Egan power-play goal. The Cardinals would go up 3-0 a Cole Stallard goal at 15:04 of the third period. Although the Knights would not go away as they would get two goals in a thirty-second span with 3:15 to remaining. Although the Cardinals would have enough to hold on for the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort, Jimmy Poreda would make 38 saves as the Cardinals go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery.

It would be a non conference battle between top three teams as the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Norwich Cadets. It would be a game that would live up to the hype as the game would remain scoreless until the 13:57 mark of the second period. Then at that moment Cardinals Mackenzie Millen would score a shorthanded goal for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 4:24 mark of the third period when Cardinals Annie Katonka would score on the powerplay for the 2-0 lead. That would be all the scoring on the night as the Cardinals would hold on for the 2-0 victory. The Saranac Chiefs pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2018 Section X Class C Champions. It would be the #1 Saranac Chiefs against the #3 Ausable Valley Patriots in the Section VII Class C Championship. The game would get off to a slow start with the rain and snow as the Patriots would get the only score of the first quarter on a safety at 4:45 for the 2-0 lead. In the second quarter the Chiefs would get on the board and take the 7-2 lead on the 24 yard pass to Jacob Nolan at the 8:26 mark and hold that for the 7-2 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-2 on a 42 yard strike to Bryce Smith. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs would get another score from Jacob Nolan for the 21-2 lead. In the closing couple minutes of the game the Patriots would score on the 15 yard pass to Trevor Wilkinson. Although it would not be enough as the Saranac Chiefs get the 21-8 victory and crowned the 2018 C.V.A.C. Class C Champions and will play Ogdensburg next weekend. Gallery.
