It would be the second game of the weekend, with a pair of North Country foes, as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Potsdam State Bears at the Ronald B. Stafford Arena in front of 1,445 fans. The Cardinals would strike quickly, just 2:02 into the game, on Jake Sacratini's goal for a 1-0 lead. The game would sgo untilthe 1:25 mark of the second period, when the Cardinals would strike again, this time on the ppower play, for the Gabriel Filion goal and make it 2-0 The Cardinals would strike for their second powerplay goal of the period, this time from Vladislav Pshenichikov at the 9:13 mar,k and make it 3-0 Cardinal The Bears would finally answer back at the 6:30 mark of the third period on the Owen Watson goal to make it 3-1. From there, the Cardinals' defense would stand tall,l and they would get the 3-1 victor. Brady Spry would make 37 saves as they go to 8-8 on the season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as they get the 5-3 come-from-behind victory in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals. It would be time for the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Playoffs from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #5 Potsdam State Bears with a win advancing you to the semi-finals. The upset-minded Bears would get the game's opening goal at the 6:33 mark of the first period, while Jack Loran would get the goal at the 6:33 mark of the first period. The Bears would keep coming and expand their lead to 2-0 at the 11:56 mark of the period when Jeremy Quensel would score. Then, with just over a minute left in the period, the Bears would expand their lead to 3-0 when Rocco Seery would score, and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Cardinals would finally get on the board at the 5:30 mark when Lonan Bulger would score on the power play and make it a 3-1 game. That's where the second period would end. The Cardinals could cut the deficit to 1 at 3-2 just 4:52 into the third period when Brody Spencer Ha would score. Then, just about three minutes later, the Cardinals would return and tie the game at three on Lonan Bulger's second goal. Then, with just under six minutes left in the game, the Cardinals would get the lead on Patrick Cole's tip goal and take the 4-3 lead. Then, with 50 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would get the empty-netter from Jake Sacratini to secure the 5-3 victory. It would be the return of the battle of the North Country as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host their travel partners, the Potsdam State Bears, from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1,000 fans on poster night with the rare midweek game. The upset-minded Bears would get the game's opening goal on the powerplay from Eli Douhart-Wood at the 10:45 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would keep coming and equalize the game at one with the Kevin Weaver Vitale goal at the 17:16 mark of the period. Then, with just 25 seconds left in the period, the Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead on the goal from Jake Sacratini, and that's how they would head to the intermission. The game would stay until the 12:09 mark of the second period when Brody Spencer Ha would extend the lead to 3-1. The Bears would not be going away on this night as they would make it a one-goal game at the 17:21 mark on the Michael Campbell goal, and we would head to the second intermission with the Cardinals having the 3-2 lead. The Bears would once again come back and tie the game with 12 seconds left in the second period on the Jack Loran powerplay goal. The game would go into the third period tied at two where nothing would be settled on the night and there would be a need for overtime. It would take till the midway mark of the first period when we would get the first goal of the game coming on the Bear's first shot on the Jack Loran goal to give the Bears the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till there was just over a minute left in the period when the Cardinals would tie the game up on Bennett Stockdale's goal as they crashed the net. The Cardinals would have little time to take the lead in the game on Adam Tretowicz as he stuffs in the rebound 4:35 into the third to give the Cardinals the 2-1 lead. However, the Bears were not just going to roll over for the #1 team in the land as they would tie the game up at two on the Jack Loran second of the game. However, with just under 90 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would take the 3-2 lead on the Paul Bryer goal for the 3-2 and eventual win. Jacob Hearne would make 17 saves in the winning effort as the Cardinals stayed undefeated on the season while the Bears fell to 1-5 in the early season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals will be back in action as they host the Layer 8 North Country Shootout along with the Norwich, Middlebury, and St. Olaf. Gallery
