#2 Byram Hills Bobcats Vs #3 Rye Garnets March 15th 2026
The Rye Garnet are crowned the 2026 NYSPHSAA Division II Boys Hockey champions with the 5-1 victory. It would be Championship Sunday from Buffalo as it would be an all–Section I NYSPHSAA Boys Hockey Division II Championship, with the #2 Byram Hills Bobcats facing off against the #3 Rye Garnets. The Bobcats opened the scoring at the 4:51 mark of the first period on a goal from Christian Cipriano. The Garnets answered back at 8:14 when Jamie Morris scored to tie the game at one. Just over two minutes later, the Garnets took a 2–1 lead on a goal by Ryan Draddy. Then, with 55 seconds left in the first period, the Garnets extended their lead to 3–1 on a goal from Colin Nigro, and that’s how the period would end. In the second period, Will Weinman scored at the 12:05 mark to make it a 4–1 Garnets lead on the lone goal of the frame. In the third period, the Garnets put the icing on the cake with Ryan Draddy’s second goal of the game at the 12:43 mark for a 5–1 advantage. #4 Suffern Mounties Vs #7 Canton Golden Bears March 15th 2026
The Suffern Mounties are crowned the 2026 NYSPHSAA Boys' Hockey State Champions with there 5-2 victory over the Canton Golden Bears. It was Championship Sunday at the LECOM Harbor Center as all roads led to Buffalo, where the #4 Suffern Mounties from Section I took on the #7 Canton Golden Bears from Section X, with both teams looking to go home with the title. The upset‑minded Golden Bears opened the scoring just 1:58 into the game on a goal from Caleb Briggs for a 1–0 lead. The Mounties answered back 90 seconds later on a goal by Matthew Norum to tie the game at one. At the 11:47 mark of the first period, the Golden Bears regained the lead, 2–1, on a goal from Owen Logan, and that’s how the first period ended. At the 14:17 mark of the second period, Kevin Windwer scored to tie the game, and the period ended knotted at two. The game remained tied until the 14:47 mark of the third period, when Sean Tyrell made his presence known by giving the Mounties a 3–2 lead. In the closing minutes, the Mounties added a pair of empty‑net goals from Sean Tyrell and Anthony Ruggiero as they secured their 4th state title in the last five years. #1 Clarence Red Devils Vs #3 Rye Garnets March 14th 2026
Rye Garnet get the game winner in overtime from Jack McGill as they head to the championship with the 3-2 win. It was the final game of four on the day at the LECOM Harborcenter, as the #1 Clarence Red Devils from Section VI met the #3 Rye Garnets from Section I in the second semifinal of the NYSPHSAA Division II Boys’ Hockey Championships. The upset‑minded Garnets opened the scoring at the 8:26 mark of the first period when Finn Draddy found the net, and that would be the lone goal of the opening frame. The Red Devils came out strong in the second period, tying the game just 1:32 in on a power‑play goal from Jeremy Drugi. Clarence kept the pressure on and took a 2–1 lead three minutes later when Taylor Regian scored, and that was how the second period ended. The score remained 2–1 until the 14:38 mark of the third period, when Will Weinman scored on the power play to force the game into overtime. In the extra session, Jack McGill completed the upset for the Garnets, sending the #1 team in the state home and setting up an all–Section I final, where they would face the Byram Hills Bobcats on championship Sunday. #2 Bryam Hills Bobcats Vs #4 Beekmanton Eagles March 14th 2026
Byram Hill's Christian Cipriano (20) with the hard on the beekmantown defender as they skated pass the bench going after the puck as they get the 5-2 victory. It would be the first of two semifinals in the NYSPHSAA Division II Boys' Hockey Championships, featuring the #2 Bryam Hills Bobcats from Section I and the #4 Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. The Eagles would jump out to a 1-0 lead just 3:03 into the game on a Pryce Parker goal. The Eagles would keep it going and make it a 2-0 game on the Mason Carter goal at the 8:50 mark of the first period. The Bobcats would answer right back, though, and make it a 2-1 game 49 seconds later on the Andrey Pytel goal, and that's how the first period would come to an end. The game would stay there until the 14:23 mark of the second period, when the Bobcats would tie the game at two on an Andrew Tymus goal, the lone goal of the second period. The Bobcats would get their first lead of the game at the 8:58 mark of the third period on Kai Licznerski's power play goal to make it a 3-2 game. #3 West Genesee Wildcats Vs #7 Canton Golden Bears March 14th 2026
The Canton Golden Bears celebrate as they get the game-winner a minute into overtime to give them the 3-2 victory over the West Genesee. It would be the second semi-final of the NYSPHSAA Division I Boys' Hockey Championships at LECOM Harbor Center, featuring the #3 West Genesee Wildcats from Section III and the #7 Canton Golden Bears from Section X, with the winner facing the #4 Suffern Mounties for the title tomorrow. The Wildcats would get the opening goal of the game at the 10:17 mark from Matthew Schneid for the 1-0 lead. The Golden Bears would answer back in the last minute of the period, with Caleb Briggs tying the game at one as the first period ended. The Golden Bears would come out on fire in the second period and take the lead 3:35 in on an Owen Logan goal, making it 2-1. The Wildcats would answer right back 37 seconds later on the Sammy Vormwald goal, making it 2-2. The game would stay there through the third period, as there would be no scoring, and they would need overtime to decide the last spot in the championship. It wouldn't take long, though, as Owen Logan would score just 54 seconds in as the Golden Bears secure the 3-2 victory and their spot in the finals tomorrow. #4 Suffern Mounties Vs #5 Pittsford Panthers March 14th 2026
Suffern's Sean Tyrell (17) with the shot on net as he would have the game of the weekend as he would have a 5-goal morning as Suffern would have the 5-3 victory over Pittsford. It would be the opening game of the 2026 NYSPHSAA Boys' Hockey Championship at the LECOM Harbor Center, and it would feature the #4 Suffern Mounties from Section I and the #5 Pittsford Panthers from Section V in the Semi-Finals of Division 1. The Mounties would strike first in the opening minutes from Sean Tyrell for the 1-0 lead. The Mounties would strike again in the last minute of the first period from Sean Tyrell again to give them the 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. The game would stay there till the 11th minute of the second period when Sean Tyrell would score again to complete the hat trick and take the 3-0 lead. The Panthers would have an answer right back, though, when Evan Weiner would score on the rebound to make it a 3-1 game. The Mounties would answer right back when Sean Tyrell would get his 4th goal of the game a minute later to make it a 4-1 game. The Panthers answer again with 34 seconds left in the second when Casey Reagan stuffs it away in the top corner for the 3-2 game. With five minutes left in the game, the Mounties and Panthers would trade goals with Sean Tyrell getting his 4th of the game for the Mounties while David Pollard would score for the Panthers and make it a 4-3 game. The Mounties would add the empty netter down the stretch and secure the 5-3 victory and a spot in tomorrow's NYSPHSAA Division 1 Boys' Hockey Championship. Gallery.
#2 Malone Huskies @ #11 Beekmantown Eagles March 7th 2026
The Beekmantown Eagles are crowned the 2026 NYSPHSAA Northern Regional champions with a 3-2 win over the #2 Malone Huskies. It would be the NYSPHSAA Boys' Hockey Division II North Regional final from the Ronald B Stafford Arena with 1400 fans in attendance as the #2 Malone Huskies from Section X would travel to take on the #11 Beekmantown Eagles from Section with the winner headed to the final four next weekend at the LeCeom Harbor Center in Buffalo for the championship weekend. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at the 13:49 mark of the first period, when Jackson Deyo would make it 1-0. Then just 59 seconds later, the Eagles would strike again, this time from Edward Sweenor, to make it a 2-0 Eagles lead at the end of the first period. The Huskies would have a quick answer in the second period, just 1:43 in on the Jonathan Scaef marker to make it a one-goal game at 2-1. The Eagles would have an answer, though, at the 12:32 mark of the period when Jackson Deyo would strike for his second goal of the game and regain the two-goal lead at 3-1, and that's how the period would end. In the third period, both teams would have their chances, but it would take until the 15:57 mark for Jake Kaska to score on the extra attacker, tying the game at 3-3 down the stretch. The Huskies would have their chances in the last minute to tie the game, but they couldn't find the back of the net to tie the game, and the Eagles would hold on for the 3-2 win. In the winning effort, Jack Bell would make 27 saves as they go to 15-6-2 on the season and head to the final four against Bryham Hill on March 14th. The Beekmantown Eagles are crowned the 2026 Section VII Division II Champions with a 3-2 victory over the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would be a matchup between the top 2 teams in Section VII Boy's Hockey as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front over 1,100 fans the bigest attendances for the chamionship in years with the winner getting a berth in the New York State Division 2 State tournament and the winner getting the #5 Malone Huskies back here on Saturday March 7th. The Beekmantown Eagles would be opening the goal of the game at the 9:11 mark of the first period from the quicker wrister off the stick of Mason Carter, with Jacobey Weeden and Jackson Deyo picking up the assist on the lone goal of the period to end the first 1-0 Eagles. The Hornets would come out buzzing in the second period and get the equalizer at the 1:41 mark of the second period when Westen Studley would light the lamp with help from Jacob Wheelin and Colby Chase. The Eagles would have an answer, though, at the 5:20 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would beat Owen Chapple glove side to retake the 2-1 lead with thanks to Braeden Nephew and Evan Bruyette, and that's where the scoring would stop for the second period. The Eagles would extend their lead to 3-1 at the 8:36 mark of the third period when Mason Carter would get his second of the night with help from Pryce Parker and Jack Rovers to give them the big two-goal lead. #4 Saranac Spartans @ #1 Beekmantown Eagles February 26th 2026
Beeekmantown's Edward Sweenor (55) with the goal he slides by Saranac's Max Croyer (31) for the second goal of the night as they get the 7-2 win. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Division II Boys' Hockey playoffs at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena, and it would see a rematch of last year's finals as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #4 Saranac Spartans. The Eagles would waste little time jumping out to a lead, scoring two goals in the first 3:35 of the game from Edward Sweenor and Mason Carter, taking a 2-0 lead. The Spartans would get on the board at the 13:18 mark of the period on Gabe Moore's goal, and that's how the period would end, 2-1. The Eagles would be able to extend their lead to 3-1 at the 8:08 mark of the period on the Ivan Roy goal, and that would be the lone goal of the period at 3-1 Eagles as they enter the third. The Eagles would strike for three goals in the first 1:49 of the period from Mason Carter (second of the night), Pryce Parker, and Edward Sweenor (second of the night). TheSpartans would also add one in that stretch from Adrian Barnes to make it 6-2. The Eagles would finish off the game at the 10:31 mark of the period when Edward Sweenor would complete his hat trick and give the Eagles the 7-2 win, advancingto another finals on Monday night.
