Beekmantown's Olivia Miller (2) with the three from the wing as the Eagles tried to cut into the deficit. It would be a return to Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action, as we are in the last month of the season, and teams are starting to make that playoff push. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host crosstown rival Beekmantown Eagles in girls' basketball action. The game started well for the home Hornets, who jumped out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter. The Hornets would keep their foot on the gas in the second quarter as they would have aa19-2 quarter behind some great defense and take the 31-4 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Eagles would find their offense and play with the Hornets, scoring 12 points, but the game was still 42-16 as they entered the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would again stay with the Hornets, 13-10, but the deficit would be too much, as the Hornets held on for the 52-29 victory. In the winning effort,t the Hornets would go to 7-4 on the season while the Eagles would fall to 4-3. Gallery
