St. Lawrence Saints @ #5 Clarkson Golden Knights - December 7th 2019

It would be the next installment of the Route 11 rivalry as the Clarkson Golden Knights would host the St. Lawerence Saints. The game would start off good for the home team as Clarkson's Connor McCarthy would light the lamp at the 12:08 mark of the first period for the powerplay goal. The game would stay there til over midway through the second period when the Saints Jake Stevens would tie it up on the powerplay at the 13:26 mark. Although it would short-lived for the tie as Clarkson's Harald Egle would score on the powerplay 30 seconds later to regain the one-goal lead at 2-1. In the third, the period the Golden Knights would extend there lead to 3-1 on Connor McCarthy's second powerplay goal of the night and secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Knights go to 11-3-1 on the season while Connor McCarthy would have two goals and Frank Marotte would make 24 saves on the night. Next up for the Golden Knights is a trip next weekend to Huntingdon, Michigan for two games with Michigan Tech. Gallery.

Canton Kangaroos @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - December 6th 2019

770 teddy bears would litter the ice as they had there first teddy bear toss night. It would be a nonconference tilt between north country foes as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Canton Kangaroos. The game would start off good as the Cardinals would score 14 seconds into the game on Ryan Kuhn's goal. Although the Kangaroos would tie the game up at the 9:48 mark on a power-play goal by Jesse Farabee. Then with 4:25 left in the period, the Kangaroos would take the 2-1 lead on the Max Routledge goal. In the second period at the 9:40 mark, the Cardinals would score to cut the deficit to 1 at 3-2 on the Ryan Hogg goal. Then at the 15:14 mark of the second period, the Kangaroos would score again to regain the 2 goal lead on Max Routledge's second goal of the night at 4-2. When the teams came back for the third period the Cardinals would do there best to tie the game up. They would get it within 1 at the 7:21 mark on Adam Tretowicz's goal to make it 3-2. Although they couldn't get it any closer and would fall to 4-3. In the losing effort, Brandon Wells would make 23 saves as they fall to 3-6-1 and the Kangaroos go to 5-3-1 on the season. Gallery.

Malone Huskies @ Saranac Chiefs - December 3rd 2019

Malone's Nolan Wood (9) with the hard shoulder check on Saranac's Nolan Knight (18) going after the loose puck. It would be the start of the season for both the Saranac Chiefs as they would host the Malone Huskies. The game would start off good for the Chiefs as Nolan Knight would get the first goal two minutes into the game. The game would stay there till the 12-minute mark of the period when Chiefs Austin Carpenter would strike to make it a 2-0 game. Although Carpenter wouldn't stop there as he would strike again in the final minute of the period to make it 3-0. The game would stay there through the second period as there was no scoring. As the third period would start the Chiefs would add another one 31 seconds on the Zack O'Connell goal for the 4-0 lead. From there the Chiefs would shut the Huskies down and secure the 4-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs start the season at 1-0 while the Huskies fall to 0-1. Gallery.

#1 Norwich Cadets @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Conslation Game - November 30th 2019

Plattsburgh State's Samir Abouelhana (28) rides Norwich's Connor Sywstun (6) into the boards for the check. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #1 Norwich Cadets in the consolation game of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout in front of 1100 fans. The Cadets would get the opening goal of the game from Coby Downs at the seven-minute mark of the first period. The Cardinals would answer back on the powerplay in the fourteenth minute with the Rich McCartney goal. Although from there the Cardinals would have no answer for number one as they would get four unanswered goals from Gabriel Chicocine, Jordan Hall and two more from Coby Downs to finish off the hat trick. In the winning efffort the Cadets get third place and go to 9-1 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 3-5-1 on the season. Gallery.

Middlebury Panthers Vs #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugold - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship - November 30th 2019

Wisconsin Eau Claire poses for the team photo as they are named the 2019 Primelink Great Northern Shootout champions. It would be the finals of the 22nd annual Primelink Great Northern Shootout and would feature the Middlebury Panthers and #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugold. The game would start off good for the underdog Panthers as they would score 3 minutes in on the Matt Danner goal for the 1-0 lead. Although the Blugold would answer back with two goals in the first period from Nick Techel and Jard Vroman for the 2-1 lead. In the second period, the Blugold would expand there lead to 4-1 on goals from Derek Hammer and Cole Paskus. In the third period though the Panthers wouldn't go quitely as they would get two goals late from Emack Bentley and Zach Shapiro to make it tight down the stretch. Although the Blugold would hold on for the 4-3 victory and be crowned the 2019 Primelink Great Northern Shootout champion. Gallery.

#1 Norwich Cadets Vs Middlebury Panthers - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Semi-Finals - November 29th 2019

The Middlebury Panthers as they get the game-winner in overtime to defeat the #1 Norwich Cadets at the Primelink Great Northern Shootout. #1 Norwich Cadets would matchup with rival Middlebury Panthers in the Semi-finals of the 22nd Primelink Great Northern Shootout. It would be another great game between two great teams. The game would remain scoreless through the first period. Middlebury's Matt Danner would break the ice at the 11-minute mark to give the underdog Panthers the lead. The Cadets would keep fighting and tie the game up in the final minute of the second period on the Felix Brassard powerplay goal. The game would end up going to overtime as neither team could score in the third period not for the lack of chances. In the overtime Panthers Zach Shapiro would get the game-winner on a scramble in front of the net to complete the upset victory. With the win, the Panthers go to 4-1 on the season and head to the championship while the Norwich Cadets suffer there first loss of the season and go to the consolation game. Gallery.

#3 Wisconsin Eau-Claire Blugold at Plattsburgh State Cardinals - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Semi-Finals - November 29th 2019

Plattsburgh State's Ryan Kuhn (22) wins the inzone faceoff against Wisconsin Eau-Claire's Nick Techel (22). It would be time for the second semi-final game of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout and the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugood in front of 1400 fans. It would not start off good for the home team as the Blugold would score twice in the first period from Scott Munro and Jake Bresser to make it 2-0 after one. In the second period, the Cardinals wouldn't fare much better as the Blugold would get another to 3-0 on the Zach Kennedy goal. In the third period, the Cardinals wouldn't have much left as they would give up three more goals Jon Richards twice and Andrew McGlynn. Although the Cardinals would avoid the shutout on a goal by Ryan Hogg on the powerplay for the 6-1 Blugood win. In the winning effort, Wisconsin Eau Claire stays undefeated and head to the finals against Middlebury. While the Cardinals fall to 3-4-1 and have a matchup with #1 Norwich Cadets in the third-place game. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Christian Thomas (17) crunches the Potsdamn State defender along the end boards going after the puck. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host North Country rival the Potsdam State Bears in SUNYAC action in front of 1500 fans. The game would start off good for the Cardinals as they would get the two opening goals from Brendan Young and Liam Lawson. Although the Bears would get one late to make it 2-1 after one. In the second period the teams would explode for 5 goals combined. In doing so the Cardinals would have a 5-3 after the second period. Scoring for the Cardinals would be Ryan Hogg, Liam Lawson, and Christian Dahl. In the third period the Bears would do there best to make the comeback but the Cardinals would get the 7-5 win with goals from Ryan Hogg and Philip Middleton. In the winning effort the Cardinals go to 3-3-1 on the season and leading the way would be Liam Lawson and Philip Middleton with three point nights. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host SUNYAC foe Buffalo State at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1500 fans. The game would remain scoreless through the first period. The Cardinal would eventual take the 1-0 lead on the Joe Drabin goal at the 9:10 mark of the period. The Cardinals would be able to expand the lead to 2-0 four minutes later on the goal by Rich McCartney. From that point on the Cardinals would go into defensive mode and get the 2-0 win. In the winning effort Jimmy Poreda would make 39 saves as the Cardinals go to 2-3-1 on the season. Gallery.

#3 Cornell Big Red @ #7 Clarkson Golden Knights - November 15th 2019

Clarkson's Frank Marotte (40) with one of his 27 saves on the wrap around attempt by Cornell's Morgran Barron (27). It would be a rematch of last years ECAC Championship as the #7 Clarkson Golden Knights host the #3 Cornell Big Red in a early season tilt in front of 2900 fans. The teams would be evenly matched throughout the game as the first goal would come at the 11:15 mark when Travis Mitchell would give the Big Red the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later the Big Red would strike again to double the lead at 2-0 on the Jeff Mallott goal. Then at the fifteen minute mark of the second period the Knights would get on the board and cut the deficit in half on the Connor McCrarthy powerplay goal. Then with just under two minutes Clarkson's Devin Brosseau would get the game tying goal. The Big Red would retake the lead at 3-2 halfway through the third period on the Cam Donaldson goal. Then in the final couple minutes the Big Red would get the empty netter to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort the Cornell Big Red go to 5-0 while Golden Knights go to 7-3-1 on the season.
