The celebration is on for the Saranac Spartans as Gabe Moore gets the game-winner with just under 4 minutes left in the game, and they get the 6-4 win. It would be the second game of the weekend for the Saranac Spartans as they would host another Section VI team at the Ameri-can North Arena as they continue the season's early start. The visiting Bulldogs would get the game's opening goal in the first couple of minutes for the 1-0 lead. Then, about the 4:30 mark of the game's opening period, the Spartans would tie the game up at one on the Ashtyn Catlin goal. Then, at the 6:17 mark of the period, Ashtyn Catlin would strike again for the Spartans to give them the 2-1 lead. Ten seconds later, the Bulldogs would tie the game up at two on the Evan Adair goal. The Spartan's offense would not go quietly, though, as they would retake the lead with 6 minutes left in the period on the Brody Macomber goal to make it a 3-2 Spartans lead, and that's where the first period would end. When the teams return for the second period, the defense would be the game's name as both teams would have their chances to score, but the Bulldogs would have the lone goal of the period just three minutes in to tie the game up at three. The Bulldogs would come up for the third period looking for the go-ahead goal and get it at the 5:25 mark from Ben Martin for the 4-3 lead. The game would stay there till the 10:06 mark of the period when the Spartans would tie the game up at four on the Nolan Miner. The Spartans would keep coming, and they would get their lead back at the 13:15 mark of the Gabe Moore goal and make it 5-4. Then, with just over a minute left in the game, Ashtyn Catlin would come down on the breakaway and beat the Bulldogs netminder to complete the hat trick and give the Spartans the 6-4 win. In the winning effort, Ashtyn Catlin would have three goals, and Brody Macomber would have three-point nights with a goal and two assists as they go 3-1 on the season as they head into the St. Albans tournament next weekend. As for the Kenmore East Bulldogs, they suffer their first loss of the season and go 2-1 as they head back into sectional play next week. Gallery

Kenmore East's Austin Turnbull (10) comes in on the breakaway and beats Saranac's Mason Patnode for the goal. The Saranac Chiefs would get their 2022-23 season underway with a nonleague against the Kenmore East Bulldogs from western New York. The Bulldogs would get the scoring started at the 5:34 mark of the first period on the goal by Parker Cerkiewicz and take the 1-0 lead. Although the Chiefs would answer back in the final five minutes of the period with a goal by Zach O'Connell to tie the game at one. Although the Bulldogs would answer back in the final 90 seconds of the period and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the goal by Dylan McDonald. Although the Chiefs would fight and tie the game at two in the closing seconds of the period on a goal by Adrian Barnes. The Bulldogs would come out swinging in the second period and take the 3-2 lead on the Austin Turnbull goal. Although with under five minutes left in the second period the Chiefs would score twice in 15 seconds from Landon Duprey and Brody Macomber and take the 4-3 lead into the third period. Just 3:50 into the third period would fight and tie the game at four on the goal by Troy Normandin. The Chiefs would not give up though and would regain the 5-4 lead with 3:30 left in the game on Zach O'Conell's second goal of the game. Although in the final minute of the game the Chief's defense would collapse and they would give two goals and the Bulldogs would get the 6-5 victory. Next up for the Chiefs would be the Grand Island Vikings as they look to right the ship. While the Kenmore East Bulldogs will go for the sweep on the weekend as they will face off with the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

Beekmantown's Alex Briezna (18) with the rebound goal to extend the Eagles lead. The Beekmantown Eagles would host Kenmore East Bulldogs in nonconference action. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at the 4:26 mark of the first period on the Alex Brienza goal and that would be the only scoring of the first period. The Eagles would extend there lead to two on the Collin Latinville goal at the 5:29 mark of the second period. Then at the 11:36 mark of the second Alex Brienza would get second of the night on the shorthand to make it 3-0. Then with just four seconds left in the period, Alex Brienza would score to complete his hat trick and make it 4-0. From there on there would be no scoring in the third period and the Beekmantown Eagles would get the 4-0 victory. Plattsburgh Ethan Kay (#2) celebrates with teammates Brandt Clarke, Hayden Colburn, and Jace Lacey after scoring a powerplay goal to tie the game against Kenmore East en route to a 4-2 win for the Hornets. The Plattsburgh High School boys hockey team capitalized on power-play opportunities Saturday to earn its first win of the season, victorious by a score of 4-2 over Kenmore East at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The Hornets faced an uphill battle after falling behind 2-0 in the first period despite outshooting the Bulldogs 13-9, but they took advantage of their opportunities to pull it back. Late in the second period, Kenmore Easts Bryan Crispin and Tyler Laporta were called for holding and slashing, respectively, to give Plattsburgh a minute-long 5-on-3 opportunity, and it only took 18 seconds for defenseman Ethan Vaughn to find the back of the net. Exactly 30 seconds after Vaughn scored the first goal of the season for the Hornets, Ethan Kay took advantage of the continuation of the powerplay with a slapshot from the point, tying the game 2-2 in the final minute of the second period. Plattsburgh continued that strong play in the third period, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-6 in the final 15 minutes and scoring twice on three power-play opportunities to earn the 4-2 win. Gallery.

Beekmantown and Kenmore East would get into a fight near the end of the game in front of the Kenmore East net. It would be a non-league matchup where east meets west. As the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Kenmore East Bulldogs. The Bulldogs would strike first in the last two minutes of the first period for the 1-0 lead. In the second period, the Bulldogs would get two more goals to extend the lead to 3-0. In the third period, the teams would trade goals. Although it would not be enough as the Kenmore East Bulldogs would hold on for the 4-1 victory. In the losing effort, the Beekmantown Eagles fall to 0-1-1 on the season. Gallery.
