NCAA Division III Women's Soccer: R.P.I. Engineers @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals September 25th 2024

Plattsburgh State's Kelly Licata (31) and the R.P.I. midfielders chase down the loose ball and go on the attack. It would be the fourth straight match for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Soccer team against a Liberty League squad, and this time, they would get the R.P.I. Engineers. The game would go back and forth all night, and in the second half, the rain would come, and at times, it would be a tough rain. The Cardinals would have their chance in the first half to take the lead in the game, but the goal was called off on an offside. The game was starting to look like it would end in a zero-to-zero tie. The Engineers would keep coming, though, and with about 90 seconds left, they would find the back of the net on Sarah Sedlacek on her second goal of the season. The Cardinals would have no time to get the equalizer and would fall to 2-6 as they enter SUNYAC play this weekend as they take on the Morrisville State for the R.P.I. Engineers would improve their record to 5-1-1 on the season. Gallery

Then in the 30th minute, the Hornets would start to put their mark on the game with Amaya Abellard's second goal of the game and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the 2nd half the Cougars defense would be better as they would keep trying to get on the board. Although just a minute in the Hornets would take the 4-0 lead on the Bailey Hewson goal. The Cougars would get on the board in the closing minutes of the game but by that point, the Hornets would have control and get the 4-1 win. Beekmanton Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets September 23rd 2024
The Plattsburgh Hornets celebrate their five-game winner over the Beekmantown Eagles and stay undefeated on the season. It would be a battle of a pair of undefeated volleyball squads from the Plattsburgh High Gym in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Volleyball action in front of a packed house. It would be a great match from start to finish. The first game would be a see-saw affair, with the Eagles getting it at 25-21. In the second game, it would be more of the same, but it would see the Hornets get out to a 23-17 lead, but the Eagles would go on a run to tie it at 23, and then they would need a volleyball version of overtime to get a winner as the Hornets take the second game 28-26. Then it would be onto game three, and with them splitting the first two, it has become a best of three, so this would be a vital same, and once again, it would come down to the end, and the Hornets would take the game 25-23 and take the 2-1 sets lead. Then it would be onto elimination game four, and the Eagles were not about to fly away without a fight. They would take it to the Hornets in game four by winning it 25-20 to force the deciding game five. In game five, though, it seemed the Eagles had run out of steam as the Hornets would take the game away with a 15-8 win and get the match won at 3-2. In the winning effort, the Hornets would stay undefeated at 4-0 on the season while the Eagles fall to 4-1. Gallery

NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Soccer: Onondaga Comunity College Lazers @ Clinton Commuty Cougars September 22nd 2024

Clinton Community College's Cyle Marshall (22) crashes into the Onondaga Community College goalie Emir Hodzic on the scoring attempt. It would be the final home game of the season for the Clinton Community College Cougars at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as they would take on the 5-0-3 Onondaga Community College Lazers. The game would start well for the Lazers as they would score twice in the first five minutes from Josh Dabbiero and Kyle Partington for the early 2-0 lead. From there I thought the Cougar's defense would stand strong for the first half and that's where we would stand at the end of one. When the teams returned for the second half Kyle Partingtonfor the Lazers would score three straight goals in fourteen minutes to give the 5-0 lead. Then in the 70th minute, the Lazers would add another goal this time from Samuel Spicer, and take the 6-0 lead. Although a minute later the Cougars would finally get on the board and make it a 6-1 game on the Harvey Merrill goal. Then in the 88th minute, the Lazers would add another goal from Josh Dabbiero his second of the game as the Lazers secured the 7-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Lazers, they go to 6-0-3 on the season. As for the Cougar, Zamir Foster would make 16 saves on the evening but still fall to 1-7 on the season as they head out on the road next weekend to take on SUNY Niagra and Erie Community College. Plattsburgh State's Liya Girma (2) gets up above the attacker and gets the two-hand block on the attacker. The match would start well for the home Cardinals as they would win the first game by a score of 25-8. In the second game, it would be more of the same for the Cardinals as they would win that as well cruising away with a 25-13 game. The third set would be harder though as it would come down to wire and the Cardinals would get the last 4 straight points to secure the 25-23 victory and the straight set victory and win both matches on the day to go to 3-9 on the season. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Iris Mulvey would lead the way with 15 points and 13 kills.
