Section VII Class A Girl's Soccer Championship: #2 Plattsburgh Hornets @ #1 Beekmantown Eagles October 30th 2024

Beekmanrown's Olivia Hagadorn (22) fends off Plattsburgh's Bailey Hewson (10) and fights through and gets the shot on net as they get the 5-0 win. It would be championship Wednesday for Section VII, at least on the class A level from the Northeastern Clinton Soccer Field, and the first matchup of the night would see the #1 Beekmantown Eagles looking to repeat their title against the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets for the right to head to the New York State tournament. The Eagles would get the scoring in the 14th minute as they would take the 1-0 lead on the Grace McCasland goal. They would waste little time doubling their lead to 2-0 on the Carly Hafadorn goal. Then, to finish off an impressive 7-minute stretch, they would score again, this time from Payton Parliment, as she would score in the 21st minute to make it a 3-0, and that's where the scoring would stop in the first half. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay hot, and they would extend their lead to 4-0 in the 46th minute as Payton Parliment added her second goal of the night; in the 57th minute, the Eagles would put the finishing touches on the game as Olivia Hagadorn would find the back of the net and make it a 5-0 game. From there, the Eagle's defense would put the final touches on the game as they would only allow three shots on the net in the winning effort. Also, in the winning effort, Grace McCasland would have 1 goal and four assists on the night as she would get game MVP. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles will enter the New York State tournament with a 16-1 record and play Schalmont 16-0 in the opening round. Section VII Class A Girl's Soccer Semi-Finals: #3 Peru Nighthawks @ #2 Plattsburgh Hornets October 25th 2024

Peru's (17) with the shot on the net as she was looking to get them on the board. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Class A Girl's Soccer as the #2 Pittsburgh Hornets would host the #3 Peru Nighthawks, with the winner taking on the #1 Beekmantown Eagles on October 30t in the title game. This game would go back and forth all evening, with both teams having their chances to get on the board, but regulation would not be enough on this day, and overtime would needed. In the overtime, they would enter scoreless, go through the first ten minutes, and no one would score. So they would need double overtime on this evening, and in that overtime, Bailey Hewson would send the home crowd home happy as sh would sneak it under the crossbar for the goal. That would give the Hornets the 1-0 win, and they go to 13-3 in the season as they head into the title game against the Beekmantown Eagles. As for the Peru Nighhawks, their season will end at 5-10-1. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Girl's Soccer: #16 Saranac Spartans @ #20 Plattsburgh Hornets September 21st 2024

Plattsburgh's Amaya Abellard (13) with the goal as she beats Saranac's Latla Pellerin (1) for the goal. We would have a match-up inside the top of Girl's Soccer action for Section All, be it one team from Class A and the other from B inside Section VII, as the #20 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #16 Saranac Chiefs in their last game of the regular season. The home Hornets would get off to the early lead on the 6th-minute goal from Bailey Hewson to give them the early 1-0 lead. The Hornets would waste little time expanding their lead to 2-0 on Bailey Hewson's second goal of the game in the 18th minute, and that's how the scoring would end for the 1st half. Then, when the teams returned for the second half, the Hornets would take control of the game in the 48th minute when Amaya Abellard scored to take the 3-0 lead, and that's where the scoring would end. In the winning effort, the Plattsburgh Hornets would finish their regular season at 12-3 and enter the Section VII Class A playoffs as the #2 seed. Beekmantown's Grace McCasland (3) with the shot on net as she would have a pair of goals in the game. It would be a battle inside the top 20 as the #18 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #13 Beekmantown Eagles inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Soccer action as both teams start to make that late-season push for the playoffs. The Eagles would start the scoring in the 7th minute of the game as Grace McCasland scored to make it 1-0. The game would stay there till the 30th minute when Grace McCasland would strike again and make it a 2-0 Eagles lead, and that's where the first-half scoring would end. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay on the attack and extend their lead to 3-0 in the 47th minute on the goal from Carly Hagadorn. The Hornets would get on the board in the 63rd minute on the goal from Bailey Hewson, and there would be a bit of history as she would get her 100th point in her career, making it a 3-1 game. From there, the Eagles' defense would take control of the game, and that's where the game would end. It would be Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls's Soccer action from the Plattsburgh Athletic Complex as the Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game in the 15th minute mark from Olivia Lamountain for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 22nd minute when the Hornets would double up their lead at 2-0 on the Amaya Abellard goal. Then in the 30th minute, the Hornets would start to put their mark on the game with Amaya Abellard's second goal of the game and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the 2nd half the Cougars defense would be better as they would keep trying to get on the board. Although just a minute in the Hornets would take the 4-0 lead on the Bailey Hewson goal. The Cougars would get on the board in the closing minutes of the game but by that point, the Hornets would have control and get the 4-1 win. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game in the 15th minute mark from Olivia Lamountain for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 22nd minute when the Hornets would double up their lead at 2-0 on the Amaya Abellard goal. Then in the 30th minute, the Hornets would start to put their mark on the game with Amaya Abellard's second goal of the game and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the 2nd half the Cougars defense would be better as they would keep trying to get on the board. The Nighthawks would not waste time getting the game's opening goal just three minutes in when Maggie Garrow would strike the back of the net for the 1-0 lead early. Although, the Hornets would be able to get the equalizer later in the half to tie the game at one point to end the first half. The game would stay tied until the 53rd minute when Amaya Abellard would score to give the Hornets the lead, and from there, they would hold on for the victory. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference game in Girl's Soccer action that would he the Saranac Chiefs hosting the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would be a game that the Chiefs will not soon forget as they would totally control the Hornets as they would go on for the 13-0 victory. In the winning effort the Syndey Myers would score five goals and Oliva Davis would add two more and the rest would divided up over 6 players. As the Chiefs will start the season off at 1-0 and the Hornets fall to 2-2 as they head into the second week of play and will look to the right the ship. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Girl's Soccer Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets September 6th 2022

Plattsburgh's Reha Maken (00) with the save in traffic as they try to pinch it in inside the 6 yard box. It would be crosstown rivalry game in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles in girl's soccer action and the goals would becoming fast and furious on the night. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game in the fourth minute from Emma Colter for the 1-0 Hornets lead. The Eagles would answer back in the 11th minute on goal from Maggie Labarge to tie the game at one. The Hornets would retake the lead at 2-1 on Emma Colter's second goal of the game. From there the Eagles would out with three goals unanswered in the last 13 minutes of half from Grace McCasland and Maggie LaBarge. When the teams came back for the second half the teams would combine for another seven goals as the Eagles take the shootout victory 7-6. In the winning effort the Eagles get there season started with a win as the Hornets suffer there first defeat of the season and fall to 2-1 on the season. Gallery
