It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season, marking the battle of crosstown rivals. The Beekmantown Eagles would travel to Plattsburgh to take on the winless Hornets, as they both look prepared for the playoffs. The Hornets would get the lone score of the opening quarter on an 11-yard run by Colden Johnson to take the 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, the offense started to come alive as Beekman took the 8-7 lead on a 10-yard pass to Garrett Pelkey. The Hornets would answer right back with their own passing touchdown this time to Ryan Colburn to make it a 13-8 Hornets lead as they enter the halftime break. When the teams returned for the 2nd half, the Eagles would regain the lead right off on a 22-yard pass to Hunter Porter, and the Eagles took the 16-13 lead. The Hornets would take the lead right back a minute later on a 58-yard pass from Jahvari Anderson to regain the lead at 20-16. The Eagles would answer back with just under five minutes left in the third quarter on the 110-yard pass to Bryson Recore,24-20. The Hornets would come back again on a crazy play, whether the running back stepped out or not, before he passed it downfield to Jo Jo Wineglass, taking the 27-24 lead as they entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would keep coming and extend their lead to 33-24 on the 4-yard run by Degio Rios. Then, as they reached the midway mark of the quarter, the Hornets put the game away with a yard pass to Ryan Colburn for his second score of the game. The Eagles fought to the end, scoring again with 5 seconds left in the game on a 17-yard strike to Shamus Bilbeau, as the game finished 39-3 in favor of the Hornets. In the winning effort, the Hornets secured their first win of the season, improving to 1-6 as they enter the last week against Ticonderoga. As for the Beekmantown Eagles, they would fall to 4-2 on the season as they enter the last game against Saranac Lake. Gallery

Ogdensburg's Luca LaBella (25) fights his way through the tackles for the extra yards as he would have two scores as the Blue Devils get the 14-10 win. It would be the opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class B Football tournament, and it would feature the #16 Beekmantwn Eags from Section VII taking on the #22 Ogdensburg Blue Devils from Section X from the Plattsburgh High School with the winner getting a spot in the quarterfinals. It will host Section II, Glens Falls. The game would start as a defensive battle with both teams feeling each other out, and there would be no scoring in the opening quarter. The first score of the game would come in the opening minute of the second quarter when the Blue Devils got one board with a 7-yard run by Luca Labella for the 7-0 lead. However, the Eagles would answer right back on their next drive with an 8-yard quarterback keeper as Porter Hunter would score to tie the game up at seven, and that's where they would stay for intermission. The Eagles would take their first lead of the game at 10-7 on a 31-yard field goal from Patrick Hagadorn at the 8:42 mark of the third quarter. The game would stay there till the 3:03 mark of the fourth quarter when Luca LaBella would find the endzone for the second time of the night from 2 yards out for the 14-10 Blue Devils end. The Eagles would have their chance down the stretch to get their lead back, but their effort would come up short, and the Blue Devils would get the 14-10 win. In the winning effort, the Ogdensburg Blue Devils go to 9-1 on the second and will get Glenns Falls next weekend in the quarterfinals from Potdsdam. Beekmantown's Shamus Bilbeau (1) fighting through the tackle for the extra yards. It would be the Section VII Class B Football championships from the Plattsburgh High School, and it would be the classic rivalry as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would take on their longtime rivals, the #2 Peru Nighthawks, for the title and the berth in the NYSPHSAA tournament. The game would start well for the Eagles as they would get on the board in the 7th minute of the first quarter when Patrick Hagadorn would hit the 34-yard field goal and give them the 3-0 lead. In the closing seconds of the first quarter, the Eagles would get the game's first touchdown on a 24-yard run from Shamus Bilbeau and take the 10-0 lead. Then, just past the halfway mark of the second quarter, the Eagles would connect on another field goal and take the 13-0 lead. However, during that drive, there would be a scary moment as the Eagles Quarterback Josh Sands would be tackled, have his lower leg, get rolled up on, and need to be stretched off the field. Then, with 11 seconds left in the half, the Eagles would strike again on Shamus Bilbeau's second game score, this time from 5 yards out, and take the 19-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Nighthawks would do their best to keep them in the game as the defense would step up, and there would be no scoring in the quarter, and the Eagles would hold onto the 19-0 lead as they entered the 4th quarter. In that fourth quarter, though, the Eagles would waste little time adding to their lead when Shamus Bilbeau would get his third game score, this time from 7 yards out, and they would take the 26-0 lead. Then, with just over two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with a touchdown from Parker Broughton and make it a 33-0 win. With the win, the Eagles go to 8-1 on the season and will head to the Nymphs tournament next weekend against Ogdensburg on November 15th at Plattsburgh High School. Plattsburgh's Dominic Deangelo (15) with the catch in the endzone for the score as the Hornets would fall to 55-16. It would be a battle of the top two teams in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference during week #7 as the #25 Beekmantown Eagles would host the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Eagles would get off to a fast start just 2:12 into the game on a 34-yard run by Shamus Bilbeau to give the 7-0 lead. Then, three minutes later, the Eagles would strike again, this time on a Parker Broughton score from 14 yards out and take the 14-0 lead. Then, in the final minute of the quarter, Parker Broughton would score again, this time from 39 yards out, and take the 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets would answer back 24 seconds into the second quarter on an 85-yard catch and run to Dominic Deangelo to make it a 20-8 game. However, the Eagles would answer right back 30 seconds later on a 50-yard pass and catch to Parker Broughton for his third score of the half as they made it a 28-8 game. Then, just over five minutes into the second quarter, Miguel Herrera was on the 1-yard score. The Eagles would end the scoring in the first half on a 30-yard pass to Patrick Hagadorn with seconds left to take the 41-8 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would pick up right where they left off as they would score just 2:15 into the quarter on a 13-yard run from Parker Broughton for his fourth score and make it a 48-8 game. Danny Hartman would be intercepted on the issuing Hornets drive, and Seth Beebee would bring it back for the score and make it a 55-8 game. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get their second score of the game coming from George Dejesus to make it a 55-16 game, and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would go to 6-1 on the season and finish off their season next weekend at Ausable Valley as they have clinched the regular season title. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets will fall to 4-3 in the season and travel to Saranac Lake and take on the Red Storm next, as they will look to finish 2nd in the season. Gallery

It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football season, and the Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm from the Apple Bow. The Peru Nighthawks would get off to a quick start and have a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter on the Red Storm. The Nighthawks would keep the pedal down as they would get a 6-yard score from Landon Wilkins at the 3:15 mark and make it a 28-0 game. Then the Red Storm would get on the board with 1:53 left in the half on a 46-yard scoop and score of the Red Storm, making it a 28-7 game. Then, with 1- seconds left in the half, the Red Storm would score again on a 6-yard run to make it a 28-14 game as they head to the intermission. With under four minutes left in the third, the Nighthawks would extend the lead to 34-14 on a 1-yard run by Wyatt Bridges to make it 34-14. The game would stay there till the three-minute mark of the fourth when Carpenter would score on a 56-yard pass and catch it, making it a 41-14 game. Then, with 2:40 left in the game, Landon Wilkins would break off a big 73-yard run for the score and take the 48-14 victory, and from there, they would hold on for the win. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 3-2 in the season as they will host the Ausable Valley Patriots next weekend. Meanwhile, the Saranac Lake Red Storm would fall to 2-3 during the season as they will travel to Saranac and take on the Spartans next weekend. Gallery

It would be week #6 of the Champlain Vallery Athletic Conference Football season, and it would see the Moriah Vikings traveling up to Beekmantown and taking on the #25 Beekmantown Eagles as the Eagles would look to continue their winning ways. The Eagles would get the scoring going in the first quarter at the 8:14 mark on the 43-yard run by Parker Broughton to take the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 7:27 mark of the second quarter when the Vikings would strike for a 16-yard pass to Wyatt Whitman to tie the game at seven. The tie would be short-lived, though, as the Eagles would march down the field in 90 seconds and regain the lead at 14-7 on the 19-yard pass to Parker Broughton. Then, to close out the half, Patrick Hagadorn would hit a field goal to take the 17-7 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Eagles would stay hot as they extended the lead to 24-7 on Shamus Bilbeau's 28-yard run. The way through the quarter, Shamus Bilbeau would strike again, this time from 11 yards, as they took control of the game at 31-7. The game would stay there till the 4:33 mark of the fourth quarter when the Vikings would get another score, this time from Joe Pelkey from 8 yards to make it a 31-13 game, and that's where the game would end. With the win, the Beekmantown Eagles would go to 5-1 on the season as they will host the Plattsburgh Hornets in their home finale. As for the Moriah Vikings, they fall to 2-3 on the season and will take on the Ticonderoga Sentinels next week in their return to 11-man football. Gallery
