It would be a battle between a couple of the top teams, SUNYAC Women's Basketball, as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the New Paltz Hawks in front of 175 fans. The game would start well for the top team in the conference as the New Paltz Hawks would have the 24-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defense would step up for the Cardinals as they would hold the Hawks to just eight points, a score of their own, and tie the game at 32 as they entered the intermission. When the teams return for the third quarter, the game stays tight, as the Cardinals win the quarter 17-15 and have the 49-47 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. Also, in the third quarter, we would have a milestone event as Payton Couture would get her 1,000 points as a Cardinal. In the fourth quarter, the Hawks offense would come alive and have a 23-12 quarter as they would secure the 70-61 victory. In the winning effort for the Hawks, they would go to 11-6 in the season, and Abby Korzekwinski would lead all scorers with twenty points in the afternoon.
