NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey: #10 Saranac Spartans @ Livingston Lakers January 17th 2025

Saranac's Adrian Barnes (8) with his second goal of the night on the scramble in front of the net. It would be NYSPHSA Boy's Hockey from the IRA Wilson Arena on the campus of SUNY Geneseo. It would see the #10 Saranac Spartans travel and take on the Livingston Lakers to start their road weekend to Section V. The game would start well for the home Lakers as they would get the game's opening goal at the 7:53 mark of the period. The Spartans would come back and tie the game up at the 11:17 mark of the period when Adrian Barnes would score. At the 14:30 mark of the period, the traveling Spartans would take the 2-1 lead on the Noah Miner goal. Then, to finish the period with 23 seconds left, the Spartans would strike again for their goal in five minutes, and the second one for Adrian Barnes as the period would end at 3-1. When the teams returned for the second period, the Spartans would waste little time making it a 4-1 lead as Adrian Banes would complete the hat trick. Then the Lakers would come back and score two goals in 12 seconds to make it a 4-3 game. Then, with under 5 minutes left in the period, they would complete the comeback and tie the game at four The,n just 1:45 into the third period; the Lakers would take the lead back to 5-4 and be able to extend the lead to 6-4 with just over 12 minutes left in the game. The Spartans would keep fighting and make it a 1 goal game again at the 9:08 mark on the Ryan Campbell short-handed goal. Then, with 1:49 left in the game, the Spartans would tie the game at six on the Gab Moore rebound goal, and that's where regulation would end. In the overtime, the Spartans would get the game-winner on the Ashtyn Catlin powerplay goal as the Spartans got the 7-6 win. In the winning effort, the Spartans go to 5-2-1 on the season as Sean Mclane makes 17 saves, and they will be right back in action as they take on Churchville Chilli to finish off the weekend tri-ass for the Laker; they fall to 2-8-1 on the season and will be playing Brighton tomorrow finish off there weekend set.
