Chateaugay's Tyler Jones (15) underneath lays it off the window in traffic for the 2 hardpoints as part of a seven-point night. It would be the opening round of the Class D New York State Basketball Tournament as the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs to Plattsburgh and take on the #1 Moriah Vikings. The Vikings would prove from start to finish of the game why they are the #1 team in the state as they would have a 17-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would do better to keep it close as it would be a 16-13 quarter and the Vikings would have 33-16 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be another tight quarter at 22-20 Moriah and they would maintain the lead at 55-36. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would run out of gas and it would be a repeat of the first quarter at 17-3 and the Moriah Vikings would secure the 72-39 victory. In the losing effort, the Bulldogs season would come to end at 22-2 and Derek Labare would lead the way with nine points. Gallery.

Elizabethtown-Lewis/Westport Griffins over the Moriah Vikings 2-1 in Section 7 Girls Soccer. Ellie Storey, 15, for ELW in the 1st half at 11:32, assisted by #1 Emma Disogra. Tess Andrade, #11, for ELW in the 2nd half at 40:38, no assist was on a corner kick. Moriah would score there loan goal by Jordan Speshock, 24, at 71:08 assisted by Juliette Becker, 18. The Griffins had 16 shots on goal, 5 saves, 6 corner kicks, 3 fouls and 0 offsides. The Vikings had 20 shots on goal, 12 saves, 8 corner kicks, 6 foul and 4 offsides.
Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 2 Saranac Chiefs Vs Moriah Vikings September 13 2014

Saranac's Caiden Goodman (2) would take it around the edge and open field for a big gain. The Moriah Vikings would travel up to Saranac and take on the Chiefs in Champlain Valley Football action. The Vikings would jump out to a quick 21-0 lead after the first quarter with some help from some untimely turnovers from the Chiefs. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Vikings would get three more to make it 33-0 at the half. In the second half, the Chiefs would actually step up the defense and win the half 22-7. Their scores would come from Dillan Clay, Caiden Goodman, and George Miller. Moriah's Taylor Slattery (10) takes it down the lane and goes up for the uncontested layup. The #5 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Argyle Scots at the Plattsburgh State Field house in the first round of the New York State Class D Basketball Tournament. The Vikings would jump out quickly and have a 14-4 lead after the 1st quarter. The second quarter would be more of the same the Vikings win the quarter 14-9 and have a 28-13 lead at halftime. When the teams came back for the second half the Scots would regroup although the third would be a tie at ten giving the Vikings the 38-23 lead into the fourth. In the fourth Scots would do there best to cut into the Vikings lead but a 15-10 quarter would not be enough as the Vikings get the 58-48 win. With the win, the Vikings go to 20-2 and head to the quarterfinals Saturday against Madrid-Waddington at SUNY Canton. Gallery

When the teams came back for the third the Forts would build on the lead and win the quarter 18-15 and take a 41-37 into the fourth.
