Plattsburgh State's Mae Olshaney (18) with the rebound goal to give the Cardinals the 4-0 lead. It would be the second game of a two-game series for the Buffalo State Bengals as they would travel to the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena to take on the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals in SUNYAC Women's Hockey and celebrate the 43rd birthday of Burghy the Cardinals mascot. The game would be played very evenly through the first period as the Cardinals would have the lone goal of the period with just over two minutes left on the Emma McClean goal. However in the second period, the Cardinals would find their offense and they would go on a stretch of four goals in a span of 5:25 in the middle of the period with the goals coming from Mattie Norton, Emily Kasprzak, Mae Olshansky, and Taya Balfour and take the commanding 5-0 lead after the second period. From there defenses on both teams would stand tall as there was no scoring the rest of the game. However, that would not be for a lack of effort by the Cardinals as they would finish with a season-high 68 shots on net. The Cardinals go to 14-2-1 on the season and clinched the SUNYAC Women's Hockey first regular season title in conference history and Lila Nease would have another shutout. It will be a quick turnaround for the Lady Cardinals as they will be back in action Tuesday night in a non-conference tilt against long-time rival Middlebury in a game that was postponed a couple of weeks ago due to bad weather.
