Beekmentown's Jon Graziane hits the the cross-face cradle while on the mat. The five section VII schools would meet at Saranac for the 2013 Section VII Wrestling Championship. There would be many good matches throughout the day with many of them going the distances and some needing the extra period. As a team Peru would defend there sectional title with a score of 244, 2nd Beekmentown 203, 3rd Saranac 169, 4th Northern Adirondack 155 and 5th Ausable Valley 79. We would like congratulate all the individual winners and wish them the best of luck at the State Championships in Albany at the Times Union Center on February 22nd and 23rd. Gallery

Beekmantown's Keenan Carter (22) with the goal on the top shelf on the short side. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Guilderland Dutchmen in non-league action. The Eagles would score twice in the first eight minutes of the game with the second goal coming from Cole Carter assist to Brandon Buksa and Nathan Foster. Then in the last two minutes of the period the Eagles would strike two more times on goals from Nathan Foster and Austin Bradish as the Eagles take a 4-0 lead after the first period. Guilderland score just 45 seconds into the period John Dombrowski to make 4-1. Then the Eagles would strike twice in seconds on goals from Austin Bradsish (2nd of the night) and Kyle Bisonette. Then just two minutes later Nathan Foster scores again for his second of the night to make it 7-1 Eagles. Then two minutes after that Ely Giroux scores to make it 8-1. Then in the ninth minute Kyle Bissonette scores his second of the night to make it 9-1. The Eagles would strike again in the tenth minute to make it 10-1 on Tanner Roser's goal. The last goal of the period would come in the last minute on Cameron Giroux to make it 11-1 after two periods. In the third period the Eagles would twice on goals on goals from Seth Holder and Brantley Marion. With the game would come to an end and the Eagles would get the 13-1 victory to improve to 6-2 on the season. In the winning effort Dustin Plummadore would stop 7 of 8 shots on net. Gallery

The Northern Adirondack Bobcats would host the Beekmantown Eagles in Section VII action. The Eagles would do there best to try and stay with the Bobcats. Some of the matches would be very tight although the Bobcats would keep getting the upper hand and end up getting the 47-22 victory. Gallery

The Peru Indians would host the Beekmantown Eagles in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championships. The Peru Indians would not leave much doubt in the game as they would take a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then in the 2nd quarter, they would score three more times to take a 41-0 lead in the break. In the second half, the Eagles would do the best they could to keep the Indians off the scoreboard and only give up one score to make it a 48-0 final. With the lose the Eagles season comes to an end at 6-3. With the win, the Indians improve to 8-1 on the season. They will be moving on to state play next week against the Malone Huskies in Massena. The Peru Indians would host the Beekmantown Eagles in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championships. The Peru Indians would not leave much doubt in the game as they would take a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then in the 2nd quarter, they would score three more times to take a 41-0 lead in the break. In the second half, the Eagles would do the best they could to keep the Indians off the scoreboard and only give up one score to make it a 48-0 final. Beekmantown's Zack Myers (15) is tackled from behind and taken out of bounds by a couple of Saranac defenders. The Saranac Chiefs would fall short at home as they would lose 28-6. The game would remain scoreless until the three-minute mark of the second quarter when Zack Myers would find Haydin Fountain for the score and take the 8-0 lead. The Eagles would strike again with a rushing touchdown with 34 seconds left in the half and take a 14-0 lead into the locker room. Then when the teams came back out for the 2nd half the third quarter would be a track meet with the Eagles scoring twice one a Zack Myers QB sneak and on a long TD pass to Haydin Fountain. The lone Saranac score would come on a 63 TD Pass. That is where the score would remain till the end with the win Eagles go to 2-0 and the Chiefs 1-1 on the season.

The Saranac Chiefs team poses for there team photo as the 2012 Section VII Class B champions. The Saranac Chiefs would defeat the Beekmantown Eagles 6-5 ton win the 2012 Section VII Class B Championship at Chip Cummings field. The Chiefs would get on the board with a 2 run rbi single by Kasey Favreau for the 2-0 lead. The Eagles would answer back to tie it at the top of the third at 2. Although at the bottom of third the Chiefs would get four runs to get the 6-2 lead. Then in the fourth inning, the Eagles would cut the lead in half at 6-4. Then in the seventh inning, the Eagles would get 1 and leave the baseloads as the Chiefs would get the 6-5 victory. In the winning effort, Tanner Rascoe would go 6 2/3 while striking out and Ben Weightman would come into getting the last two outs for the to save for there first sectional title in 4 years Gallery
