The Cardinals would score again 31 seconds later and tie the game at two on Riley Sutherland's goal. Then, in the closing seconds of the game, Tyler Fogu would add the empty netter for the Thoroughbreds and secure the 4-2 victory. The game would not look good for the home crowd, as the Mammoth would get the opening goal oatthe g1:01 mark of the first period on ta power-playgoal from Ray Hou, givingthem the 1-0 lead The game would stay there till the 3:39 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would answer back with their own powerplay goal coming from Quinn Tavares to tie the game at one. The Mammoth would answer right back two minutes later on their second power-play goal of the game from Josh Burke, making it a 2-1 game. The Cardinals would come back again, though, and tie the game back up at the 13:28 mark of the period, once again scoring on the power play this time from Gabriel Filion to make it 2-2. The home Cardinals would get the first goal of the game just 2:23 in on the deflected goal by Mike English for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would jump out to a 1-0 lead just 5:18 into the game on the Jake Sacratini goal. The game would stay there till the 5:08 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would get the qualifier from Morley Phillips. Then, just 2:16 later, the Red Dragons would take the lead at 2-1 on the Matthew Despirit goal. The game would stay there until just 45 seconds into the third period, when the CardinaPls would tie the game on Lonan Bulger's goal at 2. In overtime, the Cardinals would get the game-winner on a 2 1 breakout play when Thierry Lizotte would tap in the rebound for the 3-2 victory. The Cardinals would get the scoring going quickly, letting the fans launch the bears, as Aaron Catron scored at the 3:08 mark of the first period for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there all the way to the third period when Tyler Zembryzycki would score for the Mustangs at the 7:18 mark to tie the game at one. Then the Mustangs would take the lead just 35 seconds later when Connor Santay would score to give the Mustangs the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep fighting through the rest of the period, but they would not have an answer to give the Mustangs the 2-1 victory and their first conference win in their last 18 games.
