Northeastern Clinton's Lucas Beard (17) fights through a pair of Plattsburgh's Ryan Knowles (24) and Bostyn Duquette (4) on the way to the net. It would be the third meeting of the week between the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and Plattsburgh Hornets this time at Ameri-can North Arena and the Hornets would be looking to get a win in the series. It would not start off very good for the Hornets as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars Sam Boulton just 14 seconds into the game to make it 1-0. Then the Cougars would strike again at the 4:50 mark of the first period on Sam Boulton's second goal of the game and take a 2-0 lead. Then just two minutes later at the 6:47 mark, the Cougars would score again to make it 3-0 on the Lucas Beard goal and that's where the first period would end. When the teams came back for the second period the Hornets would get on the board at the 1:40 mark on the Bostyn Duquette goal to make it 3-1. Then in the final 2 minutes of the second period, the Cougars would regain their three-goal lead at 4-1 on the Ryan Racine goal. In the third period, the Hornets would give themself hope as Jace Lacey would score at the 5:17 mark to make it a 4-2 game. Although just over two minutes later the Cougars would take the three-goal lead again at 5-2 on Lucas Beard's second goal of the game. Then in the closing minute of the game Cougars would put the icing on the cake on the Kai Britz goal to secure the 6-2 victory. In the winning effort, the Cougars would stay undefeated at 3-0 while the Hornets would fall to 0-3 still looking for that first win of the season. Next week the teams will be having three-game series again the Northeastern Clinton Cougars play the Saranac Chiefs and the Plattsburgh Hornets and Beekmantown Eagles meet up. Gallery.

It would finally be the return of Boy's High School Hockey as the start of the season was delayed by about three months because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The opening night game of the season would see the Beekmantown Eagles playing the Saranac Chiefs at Ameri-Can North Arena. The game would take some feeling out as there would be no scoring through the first period of the game. The lamp would finally get lit for the first time of the season at the 3:11 mark on the Saranac Chiefs goal by Nik Hamel for the 1-0 lead. The Eagles would keep fighting and at the 8:55 mark of the period, they would get the tying goal from Reid Fessette and would end the period tied at one. When the team hit the ice for the third period the tight contest would continue and the Chiefs would regain the 2-1 lead at the 353 marks on Nik Hamel's second goal of the night. Although the lead would be short-lived as Zach Lapier would tie the game back up at two under a minute later on the first high school goal of his career and the game would head to overtime tied at two. In that overtime frame, the Beekmantown Eagles would get their first lead of the game and it was the most important one as it would be a game-winner by DJ Gonyo to give them the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort, Riley Hansen would make 39 saves on the night as the Eagles start the season 1-0 and the Chiefs fall to 0-1 on a 35 save night by Macen Mero. The Northeastern Clinton boys hockey team kicked off its season in winning fashion, taking down Plattsburgh High School 8-0 Wednesday at the Rouses Point Civic Center. The way the game started from the Cougars certainly didn't foreshadow the victory to come, as sophomore forward Ryan Racine has assessed a cross-checking penalty just 47 seconds into the game. Northeastern Clinton killed the penalty, but it set the tone for a period in which they struggled to generate consistent offense. Plattsburgh nearly opened the scoring just before the midpoint of the second period on a 2-on-1 rush, junior Hayden Colburn looked to make the pass to senior Brandt Clarke across the crease. Cougars goaltender Ethan Garrand was able to cover the puck to end the opportunity. The scoreboard did change shortly after the ensuing faceoff, as the Cougars pushed up the ice and forward Sam Bulson found the back of the net with 8:01 remaining in the first period. That lead was doubled in the final minute of the period, as Lucas Bedard stole the puck in the neutral zone and skated in alone on goal. With only a two-minute break between periods, Northeastern Clinton was able to ride the momentum of that late goal into the second period. Reid LaValley scored 49 seconds into the period to bring the score to 3-0. It was far from the last, as the Cougars scored five times in the second. Thomas Richard stopped the clock at the 6:42 mark of the period with a shot from the left hash marks off a feed from below the goal line by Noah Gonyo. The Cougar's next two goals came within a single minute on the game clock, though the gap in real-time was much larger, as Lucas and Marcus Bedard scored on either side of a mid-period intermission for the only ice cut of the game. Lucas Bedard carried the puck into the zone through the right faceoff circle and appeared to be looking to pass it across before surprising Hornets goaltender Ty Calkins with a no-look shot up high. After the break, Marcus Bedard scored on a low shot through traffic from the blue line to reach an emphatic 6-0 margin. Owen Roberts scored in the final minute of the period before Marcus Bedard notched the only tally of the third. The shutout was put to the test late, as a pair of roughing penalties put the home team down 5-on-3 in the dying minutes of the game, but Garrand held his ground. Garrand stopped all 29 shots he faced in the game, with Calkins stopped 30 in the loss for the Hornets. The two Bedard's led with two goals each in the game, while LaValley recorded a goal and two assists, and Winnie Simpson was credited with three assists. Gallery.

The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Guilderland Dutchmen in non-league action. The Eagles would score twice in the first eight minutes of the game with the second goal coming from Cole Carter assist to Brandon Buksa and Nathan Foster. Then in the last two minutes of the period the Eagles would strike two more times on goals from Nathan Foster and Austin Bradish as the Eagles take a 4-0 lead after the first period. Guilderland score just 45 seconds into the period John Dombrowski to make 4-1. Then the Eagles would strike twice in seconds on goals from Austin Bradsish (2nd of the night) and Kyle Bisonette. Then just two minutes later Nathan Foster scores again for his second of the night to make it 7-1 Eagles. Then two minutes after that Ely Giroux scores to make it 8-1. Then in the ninth minute Kyle Bissonette scores his second of the night to make it 9-1. The Eagles would strike again in the tenth minute to make it 10-1 on Tanner Roser's goal. The last goal of the period would come in the last minute on Cameron Giroux to make it 11-1 after two periods. In the third period the Eagles would twice on goals on goals from Seth Holder and Brantley Marion. With the game would come to an end and the Eagles would get the 13-1 victory to improve to 6-2 on the season. In the winning effort Dustin Plummadore would stop 7 of 8 shots on net. Gallery

Saranac would open up the scoring in first on Matt Macasland's goal assist to Kyle Erickson. The Huskies would tie it up on Kyle Head's goal 1-1. Saranac's Matt Macsland would give the Chiefs back the lead at 2-1 at the eight minute mark on his second of the night assist going to Kyle Erickson. The Chiefs would go up by 2 with 3 minutes left in the first on Nick Uilva's goal assist to Alex Sarazen. The Huskies would get it back within one in the last minute of the first on Tanner Studlacks goal assist to Cameron Daniels to make it 3-2 after the first. Then just three minutes into the second Studlack and Daniels would connext again to make it 3-3. Then in the ninth minute of the second period Chiefs would regain the lead on Jacob Lillehadel's goal with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Tristin Archambault. The Huskies would tie it up two minutes later on the Bailey Conklin goal with assist going to Kelsey Head and Tanner Studlack. to make it 4-4. Then with two minutes left in the 2nd period the Huskies would score two goals in 58 seconds by Kyler Head and Cameron Daniels to make it 6-4. Then with three minutes left in the third the Chiefs made the end interesting on Matt Macsaland third goal of the night to finish off the hat trick with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Jacob Lillehadl as the Huskies get the 6-5 win. Both goalies would still stop plenty of shots as Malone's Joey Brown stop 34 while Saranac's Zach LaReau stops 31. With the win the Malone Huskies go to 5-1-1 on the season and the Saranac Chiefs fall to 2-5-1. Gallery

The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would play the Bativa Norte Dame Fighting in the North Country Cup from the Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. The lack of numbers due to injury and the game the night before would help matters. The Cougars would fall to the Fighting Irish by a score of 7-2. Getting the two goals for the cougars would be Ryan Marks and Alex Duffy will Reece Tucker would have two assists. With the lose the Cougars fall to 6-4 on the season. Gallery
