It would be the second game of the Cardinals' weekend homestand with Western New York as they would take on the Fredonia State Blue Devils in front of nearly 1300 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals would get off to a quick start, scoring just 21 seconds into the game, thanks to Gabriel Filion. The game would stay there all the way til the 8:51 mark of the second period when the Blue Devils would tie the game at one on the Mathieu Fournier goal. The Cardinals would answer right back two minutes later and regain the lead at 2-1 on the Colin Callahan goal. Then,n at the 16:14 mark of the second period, they would extend their lead to 3-1 when Shane Bondy would light the lamp. The Blue Devils would answer back just 43 seconds into the third period when Luke Morris would score to make it a 3-2 game. The Blue Devils would keep fighting and get the equalizer with just 33 seconds left in the game when Owen Cross would score to force overtime. However, the Cardinals would get the last one with just ten seconds left in the extra frame, when Quinn Tavares would send the fans home happy with the 4-3 win In the winning effort as Beau Lane would make 28 saves as they go to 12-10 on the season as they head into there final home game of the season against the Skidmore Mustangs. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils as they battle it out to get a playoff spot in the SUNYAC Tournament in front of 1200 fans. The road Blue Devils would look to spoil the Cardinal's chances at the playoffs as they would get the game's opening goal at the 9:17 mark of the first period when Sam Chrenka would score to make it 1-0. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up at the 12:33 mark of the period when Kevin Weaver Vitale would find the back of the net for the powerplay goal, and the first period would end tied at one. The Blue Devils would retake the lead at the 11:14 mark of the second period when Gavin Bloder would find the net and give them the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep coming and tie the game again with 40 seconds left in the period on Tyler Ramm's goal, and the teams would go into the break tied at two. Then, the Blue Devils would regain the lead for the third time. Gavin Bloder would score at the 4:55 mark of the period on the power play to make it a 3-2 game. The Cardinals would answer back, though, in the tenth minute of the period when they would score twice from Blake Hall and Tyler Ramm to give them the 4-3 lead, and from there, they would have the shutdown defense to secure the 4-3 and clinch a spot in the playoffs. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Jacob Hearne would make 32 saves as they go to 13-10-1 on the season and head into their season finale against the Potsdam State Bears. That would be where the game would stay all the way til the 3:14 mark of the third period when Adam Tretowicz would find the net on a breakaway for the shorthanded goal and the 2-0 Cardinals lead. Then the Cardinals would add a third goal at the 12:09 mark of the period from Josh Belgrave for the 3-0 lead and that is where the game would finish. In the winning effort Eli Shiller would make 23 saves as they go to 4-1-2. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would come into the night looking for the sweep of western new york as they would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action. In the opening period of the game, the Cardinals would have an offensive outburst with five goals Joey Mancuso (twice), Jake Lanyl, Trey Thomas, and Bennet Stockdale. While the Blue Devils would do their best to keep it honest with a goal by Parker Brakebill for a 5-1 game after the first period. In the second period, the Cardinals would keep hitting as they would get two more from Brendan Young and Trey Thomas second of the night for a 7-1 game headed into the third. In that third period, there would be no stopping the Cardinals as they would have another outburst this time for 6 goals from Christian Difelice, Mitchell Hale, Jale Lanyl (second of the game), Jack Ring, Adam Tretowicz, Joey Mancuso to complete his hat trick and secure the 13-1 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would have their biggest win since 1998 and go to 13-7-3 on the season as they will be on the road next weekend. Gallery
