The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up at the 12:33 mark of the period when Kevin Weaver Vitale would find the back of the net for the powerplay goal, and the first period would end tied at one. The Blue Devils would retake the lead at the 11:14 mark of the second period when Gavin Bloder would find the net and give them the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep coming and tie the game again with 40 seconds left in the period on Tyler Ramm's goal, and the teams would go into the break tied at two. Then, the Blue Devils would regain the lead for the third time. Gavin Bloder would score at the 4:55 mark of the period on the power play to make it a 3-2 game. The Cardinals would answer back, though, in the tenth minute of the period when they would score twice from Blake Hall and Tyler Ramm to give them the 4-3 lead, and from there, they would have the shutdown defense to secure the 4-3 and clinch a spot in the playoffs. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Jacob Hearne would make 32 saves as they go to 13-10-1 on the season and head into their season finale against the Potsdam State Bears.
